It's my Birthday & I Celebrated! Lots of photos, food and fun! Updated 9/23

Hi Paula! I haven't been to the TR section in a while, so I am just hopping on board with your PTR! :goodvibes

Naples & Tortilla Jo's are AMAZING!!! If you have the time and are hungry you should check them out.
& getting the AP discount is always nice :thumbsup2

Your plans sound great so far! I have always wanted to go all out on a Disney trip, but my trips are usually short 2-3 day ones and we go so often we don't even do most of the touristy things, like the character meals. If I am visiting with my parents and sister, then my mom usually makes PS for at least one breakfast and a dinner at places like Carnation Cafe or Blue Bayou if we are lucky. But most of the time nothing is planned and we just do what we feel like at the moment.

I remember your past TRs and loved all your photos! The character meals look so fun, I haven't done one since I was 2 years old! :scared1: & I am so jealous of anyone who is able to be in DLR for their actual b-day...my b-day is on New Years Eve, and while I do want to visit DLR on that day at least once in my life, I wish my b-day was on some random day as not to deal with the outrageous holiday crowds!

Can't wait to read more!

Thanks for stopping by!! I really enjoy Character Meals! I did one each of my last 2 trips. I thoroughly enjoyed Minnies and Goofy's was ok. Going to give Goofy's a try for dinner this time. And then will also do Surf's Up since we are staying at PPH and then I may do Storyteller's the second week. Due to my friends allergies I don't want to do to many breakfasts as the foods are slimmer pickings for her but Minnies is so great with the characters I figure if nothing else she can have a lot of fruit that morning and Durf's Up looks like it has some other options as well (although I don't know how lunch items go over at 7am?!?!)

If you have any time off of work from June 11-16 you should come down! I have a room at the Doubletree Orange that week and so far its just me staying there.

My mom's Birthday is New Year's Eve. She says everyone celebrates her Birthday but her. :rotfl2:

I prefer going to Disney slower times of the year so summer is something new for me! :scared1: I wanted to go on my Birthday though so it is what it is!!

We ate at Troubadour Tavern in June. It was good, and fun because you can watch the Princess Fantasy Fair while you eat.

How nice of you to offer :goodvibes My June is pretty much booked, between my sister's wedding, and 3 concerts I have bought tickets to all happening within the first 3 weeks of the month, looks like I will have to wait to visit DLR till late July or early Aug. :(
Summer crowds are not that bad in my opinion. I honestly think Spring Break crowds are waaaayy worse. Even if it is a busy day in summer, the type of people visiting is typically lots of families, and not large groups of teenagers running around parent-less. (my recent Spring Break trip will haunt me forever!).
How cool about your mom's b-day on NYE too! When I was little I actually thought the whole world was celebrating for me! :rotfl:

I have concert tickets for June too. Well my kids do. There seems to be a lot of concerts in June.

Aww bummer! We could have gone to Minnies!

Love that you thought everyone was celebrating for you! :yay:

I haven't been to a concert in AGES!

My friend doesn't have to leave at 4am on June 11th! Instead of flying out of SNA at 6:45am she is now flying out of LAX at 7:45pm!! :cool1:

Whats awesome is it is now a nonstop flight (instead of 2 stops) and was actually cheaper than the SNA flight so there is a credit if she flies again in the next year she can use it. (It's only $12! but still!)
She will arrive back in Texas pretty late (almost 1am Sunday) but that was preferable to the 4am departure!

Thats great that she gets to spend more time with you there.

Yup and it will be a day to just relax as it is a Blockout day for me and paying $50 for a blockout ticket when I have 10 days just doesn't make sense. :lmao:

So we will move our Surf's Up breakfast from its current spot at 7am on Friday to around 9:30/10am on Saturday. Enjoy breakfast and then just hang out somewhere at either the hotel or DTD.

There is always something to find to do so I think you will be okay. I am totally against paying that $50 for a block out day. You have lots of days to enjoy yourself.

So I am going to place a small order to have delivered at the Hotel.

I am planning on:
Fruit - Apples, Bananas, Oranges
Peanut Butter
Celery
Carrots
Water
Diet Dr. Pepper
Fruit Strips
Plates and plastic utensils

I'm also including a loaf of bread and jam so I can make some sandwiches when I am by myself. Also a few yogurt.

Trying to figure out what else I can get for snacks that does not have dairy, eggs, and wheat...

Peanut butter a great protein. I am a yogurt fan for sure.

I love PB! I am ordering a big jar so we can have it with apples and such while my friend is there and then I will use it on bread the following week for breakfast since my hotel does not offer a free breakfast this time.

I come and go in my liking of yogurt! I am only ordering a couple so that way if I end up in the not going for it phase I am not out that much!

Apples and peanut butter. Yummy.

I love peach yogurt, it is my favorite.

YAY about your friend's flight. & about the block out day....i agree there is plenty to do outside the parks as well. I LOVE DTD and could walk around, in and out of the shops forever. & I totally forgot that you can do a character meal without having to be in the parks.
Also, Gardenwalk...I have never been but it's so close to DLR! Sounds like they have some cool shops.
& I LOVE apples with peanut butter too!! Your grocery list is making me hungry!

I was so happy about my friends flight! And to get a better time without paying more! AWESOME!

I'm not a big shopper except for the WoD store lol! I could spend forever in there!

Peanut Butter! Yum!! Sorry my list made you hungry but can you or anyone else think of anything else I should order?

I think your list sounds great, since most of your major meals will probably be in the parks. Good job at picking healthy options, I know when I am at DLR all I want is to eat all the sweets and not-so-good-for-you food. So having mainly healthy items in the room is a good move.
I am a big fan of granola bar type things as a quick snack. Sandwiches are always good but I see you have already thought of that! As far as non dairy, wheat or egg products....that is tough. Since I don't need to avoid those things and don't know anyone else who needs to avoid them, I don't really pay attention. :confused3

You might get rice cakes which are good with PB. Also maybe some tuna pouches, but you will probably want special crackers to eat it on.

That is wonderful about the flight change.

The thought of Tuna in a hotel room just doesn't sit well with me lol. I really dont want a smelly can/package in the room lol. Also the delivery service doesn't seem to offer anything gluten free so out of luck on the special crackers anyways.

I never really paid attention either... once you start looking you realize almost everything has at least one of those ingredients.

My friend has stated that its more a tummy issue than anything else. If she eats the items in moderation she will be okay but I still want some options for her incase she is having issues with the park food.
