It's Memorial Day and I had a telemarketing call.

I used to belong to BMG Music service ( like 3 years ago ) and they called me today to see if I want to come back... I told the girl it was a holiday, and she said "yes sir, that's why we called, because most people aren't at work today".

I was flabbergasted and just hung up.

I also just hung up from a survey call. You just can't get a break from them even on a Holiday!

That witch should be pelted with Memorial Day hot dogs:worried:

You're having hot dogs, and she's in an office, having to work, making probably nearly nothing, knowing that she's not going to talk to people who are happy to hear from her.

Is there something about me today that makes people want to comment on my every move?:rotfl: She picked her job:confused3 Just so ya know, I had baby back ribs, not hot dogs:snooty:

That is the one thing that I don't miss since I had the house phone shut off.

Thats what the Do Not Call List is for!

Like anybody really pays attention to that anymore. It worked for a while and now it is worse than ever. And yes, we did renew it before the 5 years were up. We're getting 5 - 10 calls a day most days.

Works great here in IN. And we have a no fax list also!

I hear ya. The symphony called looking for a donation. The corker is that they always hang up and never leave a message. :faint:

Caller ID and and Unknown Caller Block has really helped here :)

I agree, we don't answer many of those type calls... this one did supply the actual phone number though, and it was not an 800 number. It came from 602 area code, I believe.

Years ago...

DH had a job as a telemarketer.. his first (and last) day was the day of the Oklahoma City bombings.. and they were making calls everywhere... including Oklahoma. He pointed this out to his supervisor, who did not care.. and DH just walked out of the building.

Telemarketing does pay good. When we were first married, I had that job.. it sucked, but it paid better than any fast food place. Decent way to work your way through school.

So, when I get the call.. I listen politely.. say no thanks, take me off your list, and wish them a good day.

they probably do not know it is memorial day in india;)
lots of those telemarketing jobs are being out scourced to other countries:listen:
