It's May! Yay! Waiting for the rest of 2016

A "walkabout" refers to a journey taken by Australian aboriginals. My guess is that the poster suspects, or knows, that either the Fantasy or the Dream will be doing an Australia itinerary.
I wonder how they can do that.:confused3 Unless the new PC is finished, only the Wonder can fit through the locks. It does sound great though.

In the original comment fantasy was talking about 2017::MickeyMo
I guess it may be done by then, but there have been so many lengthy delays so far. I would be very hesitant to plan on cruises that require the new locks until I was sure of the finish date. It seems like a gamble for DCL or anyone else unless they have a lot of accurate information about the actual finish date. Of course, I'm sure they know a heck of a lot more than me or the average person.

So, in years past there have been some of our friends here who have an inside scoop. Anybody know anything at all? This week will we see some new dates?

I keep crossing my fingers they do some true west coast cruises like Princess does. Victoria, Astoria, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Catalina, LA, San Diego, Ensenada. Not all of these ports, but some of them on 7 or 10 day closed loop cruises.

All right! This is going to decide if I keep my OBB or try out Oasis. Love the mouse but until grandson is old enough to appreciate it DH and I are on a tight budget. Will let you know when I release my balcony on the Star Wars cruise in April 2016. Seriously was time for DCL to change OBB policy!

Rumor alert!!!!

there is supposed to a press event onboard the Magic on Monday while she is in NYC.

I hope it's true and we get some news!

Posted by Bree on Thursday.

I am not sure how much we should expect from that press event. On last year's WBPC cruise, they had local press on board in Cartagena. So this press event might be more a local thing to get news about DCL out to the local market, not necessarily about any new itineraries with cruises from New York. The Magic will be in the Med until September 17 next year and that appears to be rather late in the season to start sailing from New York.

ETA: However, on the last DIS Unplugged podcast they mentioned rumors about the rest of 2016 being released this coming week as well. I am pretty sure that they have their own sources for these rumors and if they are willing to mention that in public, they must be quite confident.

Question on booking once dates are released. Do past cruisers get to book slightly earlier than the general public? Does that apply to all levels of past cruisers or just certain levels. Finally, I JUST returned from my first DCL cruise (as in yesterday). How do I know my castaway club member number?

We did an On board booking but did not select a date. Hoping that fall 2016 will fit into our budget. Otherwise we may need to try 2017. But DD starts school in 2016. I don't mind taking her out for a week of kindergarten, but once she starts 1st grade and beyond, I am not sure. Since she is not in school I don't know what the school district's policies are.

In the past the schedule has been:
Tuesday: new itineraries are published
Wednesday: Gold and Platinum CC members can book (only via phone)
Thursday: Everyone can book (via phone or website)

Have a look at the reservation confirmation of your placeholder. My CC number was listed on my onboard booking. I was also able to log into the CC part of the website with my general DCL log in directly after my first cruise.

In order to modify your placeholder, you might need to call. I think someone recently reported that they were not able to modify a placeholder into a real cruise booking online.

Do you still have your KTTW cards? Even though last year was our first cruise our there was a number printed on our KTTW that turned out to be our CC number.

You will not need to know your Castaway Club number. They will use your information to make the connection.

I'll edit this to say in the past I did not need to provide my CC number for it to show up on my ressie.

EBPC can vary on when it sails. In 2013 it was Sept. in 2012 (I think) it was Dec. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
