Congradulations on the new camper, looks great!
WD hitches will always make noise and is normal, there is a lot of tention on those load bars. If you have to make any tight manuvers, remove the WD bars, it will not harm the truck. But in most cases unless your trying to do a tight turn you wont need it. The noise will be there even if you remove the friction sway stabilizer.
A sugguestion for your clearance, rather then going through the pains of removing the rear stabilizer ever time, I would get a bunch of 2x12 boards and lay them lenth wise side by side spanning the driveway. If you start the stack about a foot before the low point it should give you the clearance for the 3-4 feet youll need before the tounge lowers and gives your the clearance back. You could do it with fewer boards, but that means trying to run the length of the 2x12 while manurvering, thats why I suggest spanning the driveway. Just keep the boards at the house and drop them in place as you prepare to back in.
