It's Here!! We're Leaving for WDW!!! Travel Day!!

Loving the trip report. I am trying to grab time to read in between loading and loading and loading IN THE LOVELY RAIN DELUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More, more, more. You have convinced me that we are right to "go it alone" at Disney :)

We woke up in plenty of time to report for our 8:10 AM WCC breakfast with the whole gang. As we were waiting to be called to our table, we failed to notice that Boo had wondered a few steps away to the pressed penny machines. We got the call, walked into the restaurant, and were getting our seating arrangements worked out when my heart stopped and I asked, "Where's Boo?!" Because I am now trapped in the long bench side of the table, Eeyore started off to go find her...our waiter had found her, however, walking into the WCC, crying. He made Boo stand up as he yelled to the whole restaurant that we are terrible parents. He made us raise our two right fingers and promise to buy her a present. That made Boo laugh and she sat down embarrassed, but glad that we got even more embarrassed. Our waiter introduced himself as Nickelback and proceeded to give us all a true WCC hard time. Chief ordered soooo much food (two eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, oatmeal, toast) that Nickelback decided to give him a crazy WCC hard time. The girls tried to take Princess on the Pony Race, but she lost it in typical 2-year-old fashion and ended up kicking and screaming on the floor. Eeyore was still not smiling much...it was a downer.
Yikes!! How scary!! At least your waiter made a scary situation better for you all. I will remember his name for our trip to WCC. That and "Head of Lettuce" always gets a lot of good comments. I am really hoping for a fun waiter/waitress when we go there!

Now, I have to say that if this is how fishing would be in the "real" world, I would go all the time without even a whimper or complaint.
:lmao: :happytv: :rotfl:

After the fishing, we were ready for some pool time. Quick-thinking Chief suggested that we get some towels, put them on a couple of lounge chairs........................................................................................................................................................................................................
okay...I know what you are thinking...the same thing I do: it's not right to put down towels and just leave them unless you are actually using the pool at the time..................so, we decided to go up and change in shifts.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Your such a good girl!!! (but I totally agree with you!)

As we walk into the BC, Chief asked if that hotel has a CL floor, too...I gladly told him that they do and I couldn't help but get my hope up a bit...wheels a turnin'...could he perhaps maybe someday consider a return to WDW and a stay at the BC again??? He mentioned that he missed SAB a bit this trip...I thought silently in my head about how that could be arranged, my dear...that could be arranged!
:goodvibes I hope it happens for you, I have only seen BC in pics so far, and OMG it looks gorgeous!

We checked in, got our vibrator, sat down, and it vibrated almost immediately...YAHOO!

 :scared1:  :scared1:
Ok I admit, I was reading along, then this sentence through me for a loop, I had to go back and read it twice thinking I had missed something, then I realized I need to get my mind outta the gutter. I am such a perv apparently. :lmao: :rotfl:

Eeyore just sits with Prince on her lap looking completely miserable and Tumor just looks bored.
Can I just say now that every time I read one of your TR's I get Tumor and Eyore confused and have to go back to the first page to refresh my memory lol!
Oh and epilepsy testers....hilarious!!!
:lmao:

We headed straight for bed, confused by Eeyore's behavior of late (this is not the Eeyore we have enjoyed WDW with before...), angry that Yes, Officer seems to just want to have someone, anyone to take care of his children but him, and stating that we would not go on anymore extended family vacations...I really didn't think it could get much worse...

UH OH is this even more of a build up to even more drama?? :confused3

I am loving your TR! I am glad I caught most of your TR from the beginning, it makes reading your TR much more fun!

I also wanted to add, to the Dis'er who is building the new house....it is beautiful!!!!!! (sorry I can't remember your name!)

I'm feeling your pain - I have been on the trips with the people who act "strange"... and it sucks because it puts a downer on your mood.

Hope it gets better - but it still seems like you're having a lot of fun! Just bad moments...

OK - going back to look at the pictures of everyone again with your added comments... :)

ETA: OK - maybe that wasn't your report that the person went back and edited comments on the pictures??? :confused3 BUT, I missed an entire installment of trip report somehow!!! :rotfl: All caught up now!

I need more trip report!!! We go to Disney at least twice a year, every year since we've been together. We went once in Febraury and it looks like we will NOT be returning this year as DBF (who is as Dis-obsessed as I am, and is a member here!) really wants to go to Vegas and Atlantic City. I, being the good DGF I am, have agreed. But I REALLY want to go to Disney. :guilty: I think we will be Disneymooning there, so I can understand the need to try other vacation spots. Since it will be awhile until the next trip, I have taken to vicariously living through other people's trip reports. Yours is addicting. Can't wait for the next installment!

Jaime, you hit it right on the head: WE were having LOTS of fun...just bad moments when the John and Wendy Whiners were around...lol...Debbie Downer...wa wa. And yes, I did edit some of my comments on the pictures...mainly to tell who was who, though. Glad you are all caught up now!

Hey, there Missy Mouse! I know I'll be living vicariously for awhile now...we are in the planning stages for our next vacation....somewhere other than WDW, though...I don't even know where to start!

Hee Hee, the vibrator...I know...Chief and I must be a little perverted, too...we giggled everytime they handed it to us and I pretended to fight with him over who got to hold it...I'll take any thrill I can get nowadays! lol

And...more drama? I haven't even gotten to the point where I had my meltdown! lol...stay tuned!

Hi, everyone!!! Just 3 more days until we leave! Wa-hoo!! I'm online going over all the websites and pages I had marked weeks ago and adding information to our lists and itineraries. Double-checking everything I can think of -- tickets, vouchers, coupons, park hours, store locations, etc. I even watched the entire opening of the disneyparks.com website (I usually skip over it) and just hearing the music.... I think my heart is going to JUMP out of my chest!! Does anyone else feel like this just prior to departure? By Wednesday I won't be surprised if I either get sick or hyperventilate! I don't really expect anything to happen, but you just never know.

I am so thankful that I have you guys to come here to gush. DH already thinks I have gone overboard and I don't want the boys to get too overly excited -- they do have 2.5 days of school to get through before we leave. Friends and family just don't get it -- perhaps a few do, but they are so jealous that they don't want to give me the satisfaction of talking about it (can anyone relate to that?). I just have to remind myself to breathe, breathe.....

Once I get most of the packing and checking done, I think I'll be a bit calmer.

Amy -- each time we are handed a vibrator, I'll think of you! LOL! Oh, and I hope you get to your meltdown story before we leave -- I just know I'll have at least one while we are there. DS12 will also have one, while DH will no doubt have a few hours of stewing and DS9 will just go with the flow. Gotta love those flexible kids!!

Welcome, MinnieMom! Of course it's not too late! I can't guarantee that I'll be done with my TR before you're off enjoying your own trip, but I'm sitting down here in a minute to post Day 3! I only look forward to sleeping in my own bed during a trip to WDW...if I could find some way to pack it up and bring it with me, then my DH would really have a problem on his hands...I'd just live there!

Trust me, I'd never ask you to guarantee that you'll be done with your TR by the time we leave! IF I am courageous enough and can find enough time to write a TR when we get back, I have no doubt it will take me months to complete! LOL! I am already impressed with how quickly you've turned your pages out.

LISA!!! ONE MORE DAY!!! I am sooooo excited for you! And MINNIEMOM!!! TWO MORE DAYS!!! I am soooo excited for you, too!!!

Hey, everyone! I didn't just drop off the face of the earth. I actually started typing the next installment on Sunday afternoon and then the family came over to have Boo's family birthday dinner, so I had to put it on hold....then I sat down later that evening after the girls went to bed and finished typing it. I was just going over it one last time to edit...you know us teachers...have to go through the complete writing process every time...when the storm made the lights go off for about, oh, a full two seconds...the computer shut off and I was so frustrated that I just hauled myself up and went to bed.

I haven't had a chance to sit down and re-write it just yet, but hope to this evening. So, Lisa and MinnieMouse, if you have any spare time (ha, ha!) hopefully you'll be able to read about my meltdown as a send off! I will get to work on it right after dinner!

Good Morning! Yes, one more day! Wa-hoo!

Our enthusiasm has been dampered by the death of my college best friend's mother -- I am about to leave for her funeral in a town 2 hours away. I haven't seen this friend in 13 years (she and her family live in Texas now, though we do keep in touch via email/Christmas cards, etc). I just found out about it yesterday afternoon, so I'm trying to get everything done and planned out.

Amy -- can't wait to read about your meltdown. LOL! (or perhaps I shouldn't laugh?? :<)). I may have one of my own before we leave -- I am so looking forward to being on that plane pointed south -- by then everything will be done (or at least as "done" as it is going to be).

I'd better get on the road. I look forward to reading additions here this evening.

Have a good day!

Love your trip report. We are going to Disney in November with my sister, BIL, her two children, my mother and her husband. I hope that they will enjoy all the disney magic.

Lisa, I'm so sorry about your friend's mother! I know that you are getting anxious and excited and are just READY!! I'll get to work on that installment right now!

Flipflopof2: Welcome...and read carefully! Hee hee! Traveling with another crew can be...well...interesting!

The night before we had all decided that due to the crazy crowds, we would all get up early and go to the MK for EMH at 7:00 am. We had our Aqua Seas Tour to get to at EPCOT at 12:30 and I had made arrangements for the rest of the crew to eat at Coral Reef while we were doing that. So, we were going to go through the MK gates together, go our own ways, and meet up at EPCOT after they ate and we swam...sounds easy enough, right?

Our crew woke up, got dressed, and met the other crew in the lobby. We made the choice to give the bus a try because we were worried that the boat might not be running as often that early and we wanted to get there plenty early. Turns out that we made a good choice, because we were there lickety-split and found ourselves in a rather big crowd for it being so early. I stood back a bit and spied a turnstyle that was uncovered, but being worked on by a maintenance CM. I scooted on up to him and asked if that one would be open for park opening and he told me that if it was uncovered, it would be open. I motioned for the troops to join me and we were now first in line for two turnstyles instead of 20-25 people back. As we stood there, Tumor and I noticed that there was a paper ticket in the machine the CM was working on. Tumor spoke up and told him about it, he took it out, tested the machine, and pronounced it operational! YIPEE!

They let us come through the turnstyles about 10 minutes before the opening time, but held us right there in front of the train station. Eeyore said that she had decided to try to get Princess to wake up Tink that morning, so I gave her my advice: Your mission should you choose to accept it is to not wait for anyone else...just walk as fast as you can to the store...don't look back...don't pass go...don't collect $200...just get there! I told Tumor and Yes, Officer to not hold her back or ask her to wait...just let her go. We let Eeyore in front of our group and waited for the "rope drop". The countdown made it to one and Eeyore was off! I was so excited to see her have some life in her that day! We cheered her on until we couldn't see her anymore.

We were off on our own mission: ride as many rides as possible before the masses arrived later. We headed to Tomorrowland and stopped only to get FPs to Buzz Lightyear before we made our way onto Space Mountain. Whee! After Space Mountain, we took advantage of the short lines at the Indy Speedway. Boo was tall enough to ride alone and Lou wanted to ride with her dad (because it is a long standing joke that Chief, despite my warnings not to because we'll get kicked out of the MK, bumps the car I am in repeatedly...yes, I know I could get in the car behind him, but this prospect brings peals of laughter from our DDs every single year and I love to play along!) so I was the lone single dorky adult driver.

Here's a pic of the three yahoos (Boo, Lou, and Chief) waiting in line:

We rode and laughed and walked right onto the next show of the Laugh Floor. It was cute and I loved "that guy". After that, we decided to grab a quick bite to eat at the Main St. Bakery. Chief's stomach was calling to him and we don't want a cranky, hungry Chief in our midst. We found the Bakery to be surprisingly uncrowded and grabbed donuts, cinnamon bun, cereal, and bagels. After eating, I went to go get FPs for Splash Mountain while they rode Buzz Lightyear and we met up back in Tomorrowland.

The girls wanted to go to Toontown to try to get some autographs and since it had only opened like, 15 minutes before, we agreed. We took the Path Less Traveled (you know the one...the one behind the Speedway that goes from Tomorrowland to Toontown?) and walked into the tent to find that the shortest wait was 30 minutes and the wait for the Princesses was up to 60 minutes already! YIKES!!! So, we passed and walked right onto Goofy's Barnstormer. We enjoyed talking about the memories we had of that ride: it was Boo's first rollercoaster and has been a favorite of both of theirs through the years...it's a fun little coaster that will always have a special place in our hearts.

We looked at the Times Guide and saw that the Castle Forecourt show was going to start soon, so we made our way over there to take a gander. Here are some pics (loved the new show and the uh, well, characters looked as if they had slept really well...lots of life in them...if you know what I mean?)

Boo watching the show...she looks so serious!:

Lou and Chief (what is better than seeing the man you love with one of your children on his lap??):

After the show, we decided to stop at the Christmas Shoppe to see if they tree had been decorated yet...and it hadn't! We were shocked and so was the CM behind the counter! So, the girls decorated and we got our annual Christmas ornament. The girls and I gave Chief a hard time about how that if we don't come back to WDW that it won't only be an end to the travel traditions: it will be an end to our Christmas ornament collection that has been growing through the years. He just huffed at us and told us that we could buy an ornament from wherever we go next year! Bah, humbug!

Here's the girls in the process of decorating:

And all done:

We left the shop with our Magical Moments certificate and headed on over to Splash Mountain. Can I just say it again: I LOVE FPs!! The stand-by wait was already 40 minutes. We love, love, love this ride! This time didn't disappoint and we all agreed we seemed to get more wet than in the past...no matter...it was great!

Here's Boo right before the big drop:

We noticed that it was almost 11 o'clock and we wanted to grab some hot dogs at Casey's before heading over to EPCOT...it was going to be dinner time before we would have a chance to eat again and it just seemed to make sense. We got our dogs after having to wait a few minutes for Casey's to open and enjoyed them in the back room while watching the cartoons. We made our way out of the park, feeling like salmon swimming upstream in the crowds coming into the park, and onto the monorail. Transfers were smooth and while we were on our way to EPCOT from the TTC, Chief's cell phone rings.

I don't know why I answered instead of Chief, but I did...and it was Yes, Officer. He told me that they had decided to not go to their ADR at the Coral Reef....screeeccch...WHAT?! Okay...a little background here...so far, Yes, Officer had complimented me numerous times on my choices of ADRs...and I would say...if you think this one was good, just wait until the Coral Reef. I also had said to the crew that they could miss any ADR but this one. You may be wondering why...well...remember that surprise I had planned but that I couldn't tell you about because Tumor had joined the DIS and I didn't want to ruin it...yep..it had something to do with that. Just listen to the conversation and you will soon find out what had me seeing red.

Me: But you have to go to that one...remember that I told you that you could miss any of them but this one?!

Yes, Officer: Yeah, but we're not going.

Me: But I have a surprise waiting for you there.

Yes, Officer: Well, that's too bad but we're going to just stay here at the hotel and rest until dinner.

Me: I have arranged for a diver to bring you a message and you have personalized menus waiting for you...can't you PLEASE go? Anyway? Anyhow?

Yes, Officer: Yeah, no, we're not going.

Me: Whatever!!! (I slam the phone closed and hurl it at poor Chief).

Now I was mad, hurt, and didn't even care that the monorail full of people were hearing every bad thought I had about the rest of the crew and how they were bringing our fun down and how could he just say "no" after I had explained that I had something so special waiting for them and they just didn't appreciate anything I had done to make this trip magical for them and screw them they can have as an unmagical time as they wanted but I wasn't going to go out of my way for them anymore whatsoever.

Chief told me to calm down and the girls just sat there with eyes as big as saucers watching their usually very calm and patient mother implode before their eyes. I just sat there then repeating in various noise levels "Just forget it! Just forget it! Just forget it!" I think Chief was going to begin to look for some mental help at Guest Relations and I guess the other guests were hoping he would...they all cut me a very wide berth as we stepped off the monorail.

Just as we were walking down the ramp, Tumor calls Chief on his cellphone and I heard him say that he didn't think she wanted to talk to me right then...and I spewed that I didn't want to talk to ANY of them right now because I had nothing nice to say...and then he said "Honey, I think you should talk to her". I take the phone, oh so reluctantly, and say "What?!" All I hear is Tumor blubbering on the other end. "I don't have time to listen to you blubber on and on...either stop it and talk or hang up!" She manages to say that she's sorry and she didn't know and I say rather nastily "That's the whole point! It was a surprise!!!" and I hung up the phone again.

By the time we got up to the bag check area, I figured I'd better be looking a whole lot less crazy or they might not let me in. I took my deep breaths and decided right then and there that it was really no big deal...it wasn't MY magic that was ruined...they had ruined their own magic. I washed my hands of my responsibility to provide magic for them...it wasn't my responsibility in the first place!

I'll have to fill ya'll in on the rest of the day a bit later tonight...have to go fix dinner for my girls!

Ack! What a cliffhanger! I'm on the edge of my seat here! Come baaaaaack and tell us what happens next.... I feel so bad for you right now, all that hard work and they MISS it???

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't stop there!!!

Wow! What a great episode - you got me all riled up!!! Let me at 'em!!!

I can't believe you'd leave us hanging like this! I can't wait to hear what happened.

I never knew anything about decorating the tree at the Christmas Shoppe -- what's that all about?

I'm really enjoying this!

Love the line about having the sugar cookie in one hand and the diet soda in the other!:rotfl:

Your report is aptly named...

Kathy
