In 28 days we will be there! Our Magic Bands are on the way! (According to USPS tracking they are in my state and should be delivered tomorrow.)

I "grew up" at Disney. The Magic Kingdom opened exactly 8 days after I was born. We went yearly for 10 days each November. In 1976 we also went in July for the bicentennial. Stayed at the Poly all through the 70s and early 80s. We had an EPCOT license plate on our car a year before it opened. I LOVE Disney. And this summer, the day after DS turns 9, we will finally be going.

I have 11 glorious days and 10 nights planned. DS is soooo excited and we talk about it every day. He really has no idea how magical it is and that makes me even more excited.

Thanks to everyone here on this board, I feel really, really prepared for my first trip as an adult. It's just a mom and son trip and I couldn't be happier.

I'm looking forward to enjoying my old favorites and enjoying attractions with ds for the first time that weren't there the last time I went (Soarin', TSMM, 7DMT, just to name a few).

I'm most looking forward to that first walk down Main Street toward the castle. Oh, the memories that will come flooding back. I'm sure I'll cry. And smile. And laugh. And savor every moment.

Our flight is scheduled to land at MCO at 8:05 am. Our return flight 11 days later departs at 9:15 pm. I wanted to maximize the magic!

I can't wait!

I remember way back when we first took the kids - so so exciting. I can feel your excitement. It doesn't go away even after many years. We go at the end of the summer and we too talk about it every day.

What ADRs do you have?

He will love Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom - my sons loves that.

Enjoy the time with your son! Thanks for sharing!

HOW EXCITING!!!

First off love your name as Figment is near and dear to me - Enjoy taking your son on this even if it is different form your first times on it it is still pretty incredible and you can create you own figment and send it yourself.

I just know your memories will be amazing and fun. If you have to done so and can afford to do it - get Memory Maker - you will not have to worry about pulling your camera out at character meet up and you and your son will be in tons of shots together, plus you can add in fun borders before you download them..11 days is a lot of memories and buying the photos individual are pricey

I hope your first walk down Main street is everything you want to be.:yay:

Thank you both for sharing in my excitement! This trip has been such a long time coming. I've planned it so many times but finally got to book it. I can't wait to have those magic bands in my hands tomorrow!

Our ADRs:
Liberty Tree Tavern
Plaza
Beaches and Cream
50s Prime Time
Mama Melrose (Fantasmic)
Tusker House breakfast
Sanaa dinner
Hoop Dee Doo

I didn't book any ADRs for our Epcot days. We're both looking forward to "eating around the world" at the WS CS locations.

Still trying to get BOG but will wait in line for lunch if needed.
Trying for Wishes Dessert Party, too. I'd love to get that for our first night which will be the day after his birthday. I keep refreshing that dining reservation page. We'll see.

So far he's most excited about the Haunted Mansion and Jedi Training Academy. He doesn't like thrill rides but I'm going to encourage him to try 7DMT. If he ends up liking it then I'd love for him to try my favorite from back in the day, BTMM, but I won't push it. I'm willing to skip it.

I'm trying not to wish our summer away (we both go back to school/work the week after we get back) but... this trip needs to hurry up and get here!

All of your ADRs are our favorites. We love the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream - although I don't think two of you could finish it. Love Tusker House, Sanaa, 50s prime time and especially Hoop Dee Doo - have seen it many times.

If you don't get wishes Dessert Party did you try Pirates and Pals Firework Voyage. You see wishes while on a boat - plus it is has characters and a snack. We are trying it the first time this summer.

Have a blast - come back and tell us how it was.

Pirates and Pals is on my wish list. I haven't called to check availability. I was thinking of doing it on the night we go to HDDR (we're doing the 4:00 show).

I don't want to "overschedule" us and I also don't want to add on too many financial extras (things that cost more money) but it really does sound like a ton of fun.

The way I'm looking at it, his first trip will be super special no matter what we do.

Tusker House was one of my favorite meals on our Christmas trip. They have such a great selection of food at breakfast time.

Hope you can get dessert party or the pirates - I have not done either but so want to so would be great to see what you think.

I have heard the Dwarf ride is not so much a thrill ride - it really is for everyone. Go and enjoy this new one. - Hopefully you have been making Fast Pass reservations already as you are less then 60 days out.

If you over schedule you can always scale back if need be. I have found that those plans come in handy to give you a base plan

Absolutely. As you said - just walking down main street will be memorable.
Enjoy!
