It's happened again!

Odd review. I like the UOG but it's so completely different in presentation that the comparison makes no sense. Both books are good IMO but in different ways.

I added my review and it should pop up sometime. I was simply honest. :)

Kelly- I took a copy of the 2006 book for our first stay at Universal last December- it was a lifesaver for us. We have an autistic son and it helps to be prepared! I added a review and bought the latest addition and one for all my family members also.
I also have a friend that wrote a book called "Evidence of Harm" (David Kirby) Check it out sometime.:thumbsup2

In all these posts I have not seen the title of this wonderful book! Would someone let me know what it is? I'm trying to plan our first trip to UO...

Thanks! :goodvibes

The title is Universal Orlando, 2007 Edition: The Ultimate Guide to the Ultimate Theme Park Adventure.

Kelly,

My thoughts, on both sides of this issue:

I love UO and I really enjoy your book (I've purchased the last two editions...the latest is on my nightstand!). I've found it to be a great resource and comprehensive guide to USF/IOA, CityWalk and the resorts.

On the other hand (perhaps here is where I incur wrath from the board), I think you should welcome feedback and criticism. I agree that the Amazon review in question seemed overly biased and negative, but I think we should all support equal expression of opinions, even if it's not what you want to hear or if you totally disagree. To tell you the truth, when I bought your latest edition, my overall impression was "is that all there is?"...I think you could have done better in terms of expanding the detail and being a bit more objective/critical, especially when it comes to dining options. I think it would only make your work better and more informative. Just my two cents....

I am so-o-o-o touched by the response.

It's truly overwhelming and a real testament to way the Internet can build community.

I think we all should make an effort to go to Amazon and post a review when we find a book we really like. It means a great deal to the writers, believe me. Most of them aren't making a lot of money. Did you know that 97% of all books published sell fewer than 1,000 copies? Sad, but true.

Your kindness has encouraged me to make a special effort to "pay it forward" for other authors whose work I find fun or helpful.

I'm trying to figure when I'll be able to get back to Orlando to continue work on the next edition. When I carve out a schedule, I'll set up at meet at the Backwater Bar. Drinks on me!

I'm also going to put a photo of me in the next edition! :rotfl:

next time you are at MYTHOS, try the butterscotch martini and ask if Ellen can make it for you. Really good. :cool2:
