I just booked CSR yesterday and I must say it looks beautiful. I toured the Coronado on my last vacation so I have seen the whole place. I just hope its half as good as the POR. I really enjoyed my time there. The tropical feel is what I like,so I was not crazy about the Ranchos section. Can you still fax the resort a few weeks ahead of time with a request or is it a waste of time? I like the areas with the most palm trees and tropical feel( I would have booked at the Carribean but the main pool is being refurbished) :cool1:

I'm with you. We loved POR (AB) but are heading to CSR in March.

We have stayed at both. If I had to choose which one I like better, I would say POR. CSR has some great features tho. I love the pool area there :)

Make your request before you arrive. But when you get there if you are not in the area that you wanted kindly ask them to check if anything is available where you want to be. They will usually have to go check with someone. I do make a request prior to arriving but have had a few times I didn't get that request. But I did ask for a different area and they can accommodate me.

The buses are great at CSR and we requested stuff and it was kind of honoured, still prefered POR though, sorry!

I hear you. I'm looking to stay at WL next time but enjoyed POR so much that I'm having all kinds of trouble deciding! :confused3

I loved POR but I love CSR even more. Now if I could only get a normal food court at CSR and have Bob play piano there instead of at POR I'd have a perfect moderate resort. :thumbsup2

I have stayed at both, and while I liked many things about it like the food court I don't like the way it is laid out and I don't like trying to catch a bus. I loved POR - if it had queen beds and more storage - well then it would be a deluxe, wouldn't it!!!

CSR is not for me. I've stayed at both and much prefer POR. I didn't like the food court set up at CSR. You always had to get a ticket punched and way too much confusion about what was considered a snack on the dining plan and what wasn't. Main Pool was neat at CSR but who wants to walk that far to a pool? It's like out in nowhere land! I liked the layout of POR better, the southern charm it has and the boats to DTD.

A little OT - sorry!;) But my DH is "training" and I do so want to support him but I don't think POR has a fitness facility - is that right? If they don't is there somewhere he can go to work out?

TIA!

Only CSR has a club. I think you would have to pay for a day pass anywhere else (I think only deluxes)

Make sure you request you room location on your reservation.

Here are some good choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (Most convenient location and most preferred)

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop 2.

You can also fax 5 days prior to arrival. Follow the instructions on http://allearsnet.com/acc/cro1.htm.

Thanks to both of you - it may be worth getting a few day passes to keep him happy:yay:

I love CSR! It's a great resort with awesome transportation. Some of the best I've experienced at WDW. The food is great but a bit pricey if not on the dining plan. The it is good and the portions are large. The resort is very beautiful and you feel like your on a tropical vacation.

CSR for us. We don't mind the walking; love all the pools; Pepper Market we can take or leave (we just eat elsewhere if we want). POR is lovely, but the inside was way too noisy for us. We like the quiet just a little better.

Stayed at both and POR has a big advantage.

I am as a fitness buff, although when on vacation, I feel like a jog around the grounds, some push up, sit ups and such carry me through with the wrking out. Especially with all the walking arund the parks I would check to see the pricing of the gym passes, I know sometimes they can get prices, might not be worth it, or might be worth it to upgrade to a resort with a gym, and get the gym pass for free and pay for the upgrade.! I did see that POR has a mile long area.. I am hoping that is a pretty area, as I am bring my running shoes!

CSR would be it for us! Liked POR but love CSR, with exception of the food court but we hardly eat there! love the pool at CSR, love the Ranchos section ( Yeah ~ I 'm just different there I guess), love the buses. (very little crowds and convenient stops at the park! :yay:
