It's Going To Be A Jolly Olly Holiday In Disney PTR I've got one foot out the door!!

The pumpkin patch pictures are so adorable!! I can't wait to take my boys this weekend. October is my favorite month.
I am really looking forward to seeing all the resorts especially dressed up for Christmas! My husband and I wanted to go to GF for our honeymoon but were two poor college kids and settled on a week at the beach. Oh well, maybe someday. I am so glad to be going back. I only remember BTMR and the Haunted Mansion. My husband has never been to WDW. We were waiting till our kids were older, but I decided enough was enough. I wanted to go! Besides, if we love it as much as I think, we can make it an annual event. I would love to have a PTR and hope to start one soon to count down the last 30 days!!:lovestruc

love the pumpkin pics- so so cute

love the schedule so far too. we've always wanted to try Biergarten, but haven't gotten the chance. and love Cali Grill- i've eaten there many times and never had a bad meal and the fireworks are amazing from there.

and yes, i still call it MGM- it was MGM when i worked there (at hollywood and vine) so it is really hard for me to switch to HS! :rotfl:

Those pictures in th epumpkin patch are simply awesome!!! Loving them soooo much!

And I'm with you about getting dressed up for Cali Grill. Sometimes, just sometimes you want to get dressed up. I wear nice clothes for work all the time. But I'm getting dressed for work, not for me, as I will for the Cali Grill reservation

Thanks! We had a great time and the boys were pretty cooperative with the photo time!!! LOL

Yeah...sometimes a girl's got to be girly!!

Sometimes "empty" days are so necessary. :thumbsup2 We are only going to be there for 6 nights, so I had to resist my urges to cram as much into every day possible, and make one day in the middle where we don't have anywhere to be until 5pm. A day to just sleep until we want to wake up, then lounge around the resort and enjoy our surroundings. :goodvibes

I agree! I do like to get a ton in, but have to remember that it is vacation!!!

I think your plans look great

I can't wait to see the decorations at Grand Floridian

What did you not like about the dinner at 1900 Park Fare? Food? Characters?

Thanks! We saw the decorations there in 2006, but I want to see them again and maybe explore a bit more. We didn't spend a lot of time there last time.

We did not like the food AT ALL. None of us did. The characters were fine. In fact, it was the one time we were able to see and get a picture with Prince Charming. We had seen Cindy in the castle lunch so that one was already covered anyway. But, the mice were cute too! Now they changed the characters.

You know, I'm curious about this too. I've been seeing so many negative reviews about it, but I loved it when I went for dinner in 2006. And that was before they had the step-family there, back when it was just Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzie, Perla, and with Fairy Godmother greeting outside the door. We thought the food was yummy and the character interaction was great, even though we were just two adults. Now that they've moved Suzie & Perla to CRT and added the Tremaines, I would love to do it again if I had time on this trip... I hear that they are an absolute hoot!

Yeah...we didn't like the food one bit! The same characters were there when we went. The Tremaines are great...we saw them outside the castle in MK. They really play it up! Try to get them there!

very nice pictures!!! I remember going to the pumpkin patch when I was little. I was always the one that searched and searched for the perfect pumpkin!

Your day sounds great to me. I thought it would be hard to break MGM until I worked at WDW and the fact that you can get "written up" from a manager or supervisor for giving false info: IE calling it MGM instead of DHS. A friend of mine had a co-cm who got written up for calling Spaceship Earth a giant golf ball over there to a guest..she was written up for that one...the joys of working at disney! At AK they actually call it DAK (d-ahhh-k) and not by Animal Kingdom..crazy I know!

My family still calls it MGM, I've had DHS smashed into my head now for quite some time!

Thanks! I am hoping it is something they remember doing and pass the tradition on some day when they have kids...very FAR in the future! LOL

Thank you! I am really trying to keep the commando thing out of this trip fro DH's sake! Oh gosh! That seems a bit harsh for a possible slip of the tongue! The golf ball statement...that's what we call it a lot! We know what it is really called, but "golf ball" is easier to recognize. I don't think I would ever say DAK myself. But, I see where it is coming from!

Yeah...we all are having trouble with the transition.

Looks great! :thumbsup2 Sometimes the empty days are the best!! Plus there really isn't a ton of stuff to go at DHS (and YES I always want to call it MGM).

This may sound a little silly but did you ever consider getting dressed when you go back to POR for your mid day break, wearing your park shoes and sticking your dressy shoes in your park bag? I don't know what kind of bag you carry in the park, but since you are a mom I am assuming you carry everything you may need in case of every emergency imaginable. LOL you think your bag could find some room for your dressy shoes. That way you won't have to go all the way back to the resort and then back to the MK (well Contemporary but I am assuming you are taking the buses so then that would mean MK and a quick walk to the Contemporary) and you can get some extra time in the park.

Thanks! Yeah...it really is a kind of empty park, but there are a lot of shows there and they take up so much time. I am not sure we will have enough time to get all of the shows in that we want to. We will have to make a priority list. We do have another day planned for HS, but I still am not sure?? We'll see. I got Ridemax, so I am going to let that tell me how I am going to make out!

I did think about that. I just wasn't sure if I wanted to take a bag into Cali Grill. But, I guess I could. It will give me that extra hour in the park then! I do usually take a backpack in the park. Actually DH is pretty good about carrying it for me. I will also have my camera bag. I think I will probably just do that. Yep...taking the bus to the MK and walking over.

Thank you! Ohhh! Have a great time pumpkin picking! How old are your boys?? October is my favorite too! I love it!

I really like the GF...DH not so much. So, I don't think we would ever stay there. He loves the Poly though! Your DH is going to reach down to his inner kid!! I hope you guys have a great time and everyone wants to go back! I do hope you start a PTR! Let me know for sure if you do! I will definitely follow along! 30 days should be here really soon!

Thank you so much! We had a great time!

I am pretty happy with it...even though I keep making changes! We went to the Biergarten for dinner on our last trip. It was not bad...the entertainment was really fun! I don't think they do that for lunch, though. I have never done Cali Grill. I actually was not going to do it because of the kids...didn't want to disturb others if they were not totally quiet. But, others said it was fine and that lots of people took kids. I showed DH the menus from there, Narcoossee's and Citricos. I wanted to do one signature restaurant. He chose Cali Grill from the three. So, that's what we booked. I checked the schedule. Wishes is an hour before our dinner reservation. So, we won't be able to watch them from there. Too bad...maybe next time!

They better get them back up! It feels like I am not really going now! I am giving it until Friday and then I am getting a new one. I will just have to deal with it being at the beginning! :sad2: On the bright side, if I do have to start over, my slider wil move much faster since it won't have as long to get to the end!;)

Agreed. That's why I went ahead a switched mine already. I hate not knowing how much time is left. Hope they get them back up for ya. But you're right, if you do a new one the ticker will go faster down the line since it's less time from the start. :thumbsup2

Your day 4 plans look and sound great! I was actually just reading up on the parade taping myself. Part of me wants to go and see it and the other part of me knows not to even tread over there that day for how crowded it's going to be. I think I have epcot planned that day. Anyways, your plans sound great. I hear you on wanting to get a little dressy for dinner. I feel the same way. I don't dress up for work because I never know what I'm going to be doing during the day here so any chance I get to get a little fancy, I take it. :thumbsup2 I hope Cali Grill is good for y'all and that you can see the fire works and get the picture you want.

I think a nice easy going day thrown into the mix sound like a great idea! It may be a not-so busy day, but it will be a day for pictures!!!

Also, I can not agree with you more about getting dressed up! I too am a stay-at-home mom and just putting on a shirt that I didn't get from volunteering somewhere and form fitting jeans make me feel like a million bucks!

Yeah...I see your slider is already moving!!! Hmmmm...maybe not so bad afterall!

Thanks! I am looking forward to this day for the meals and the first chance on TSM. I had thought originally about going to see the taping, but I just think I'd be crazy to try. But, no go on the fireworks at dinner...they are an hour before our res.:sad2: It makes no sense for me to dress up at work...heels and vacuums don't mix! LOL :rotfl2:

Thanks momma! I plan on taking loads of pix this day! Is it weird that I have a list of certain pix I want to be sure to get? Did you know there is a steel Mickey head outside of the Contemporary that makes a great photo op? It is great to sit in / on! FYI

Thank you!!!!!!! :worship::worship::worship: It is so nice to be able to get done up once and awhile. If I put on make-up, Justin asks me why...that's how often it doesn't happen!!!!!! My make-up tends to last forever!

I should probably start a list too - I have seen pics of that Mickey head and forgot it was at Contemporary! We'll get it on our last day when we go eat at Chef Mickey's.

Ahh... another similarity! Shamus always asks if something is up if I have swiped on a coat of mascara

That's what it's like being a mom sometimes!! When I get Lexi done up for dance comps, I think "my 10 year old gets more done up and more often than I do!" LOL That's pathetic! Note: she does not wear make-up regularly...just for comp and very light!

Whoa! I was so behind. I really hope you get that teacher situation figured out. I know they said that the other kids & parents "seem to" really like her, but it could just be that no one else has spoken up about it. There has to be something wrong for the poor little guy to have SUCH a reaction to her. Keep us posted, please! :goodvibes
Your plans sound AWESOME so far for WDW, by the way! I really liked your pumpkin patch photos, too.

Awww! Thanks for catching up! I am keeping my hopes up with the teacher!! Thanks! We had a fun time at the patch!

LMAO, I was sitting here thinking about PMing you to alert you that you have a ticker again. Glad to know there was no need! :lmao:

Yeah not too bad.

I have a tip for TSM for you. As soon as you guys get into the park that morning, either you or your DH run to the ride to get FPs for everyone for it. If you don't you will more than likely have a long wait to ride later in the day and no FPs left. That happened to me in Sept '08 and May of this year. We went and got FPs early in the morning and by the time our FP time was there, there were no more FPs left.

I can not believe how close we all are from being at 1 month!!! EEEEK!!! :scared1:

I got mine back!!! It did move a bit while it was away!! LOL

THanks for the tip! I was thinking we may send one of us to run for a FP and then try to ride standby quick if it's not too bad. Then, we may be able to get two rides in?? That is a ll dependant on whether we actually make RD also!! :thumbsup2 Hopefully it all works out and we get on it! Poot wants to ride it really bad! I am getting him the Wii game for Christmas... I mean SANTA is getting him the Wii game for Christmas! :santa:

I can not believe how close we all are from being at 1 month!!! EEEEK!!! :scared1:

I know!!! It is amazing! It seems like it wasn't long ago that we were excited to be almost 3 months out and make ADR's!!! My how time flies! I am actually having mixed feelings about tihs...I REALLY want to go, but I have so much to do and am afraid I will run out of time!

Yay!! Now I can return to my regularly scheduled program!!!!!

On another note everyone...has anyone noticed that there are nearly ZERO rooms available in Disney for the first two weeks?? I sometimes just go on to play around and see what there is out there. You never know if something would need to be changed or added or whatever. Well, for a party of 5, there is a cabin for a few of the days. I tried party of 4 just to see...a few others for a few days, but not much. And, what was available for party of 4 was not value or moderate! That scares me!!! Are we going to be shoulder to shoulder in the parks??

I noticed that a while back too (the lack of value/mods) for our week(s). I am hoping that as "D-Day" approaches some people have to cancel before the final payment is due. I know that is a crappy thing to say, but it's true... I certainly hope it's not crazy... I'll probably cry! :sad1:

Just think, in 10 days, you will be able to say, "I'm going to Disney NEXT MONTH!"

You are awesome for pointing that out to me!!!! :flower3::love::hug:

That is such a great thought! One month is NOTHING!!!!! I actually have been breaking the days left into 10's. (I think that comes from being a math nerd!) Anyway, every time I reach a new set of 10's, it feels like a huge thing! It's awesome! I also think it is making the time go by a bit faster! When I get to each of those marks, it is a week and a half...not just a week! See the method to my madness!!!??

Yea.....the only thing is...I looked last night because of this concern...there is still nothing. We are at that 45 day mark. Mine was Sunday. Of course, they do give you an extra 2 weeks to pay also. But, if you cancel inside of the 45 days, you lose money. I actually still have a little to pay on my package...had to pay the mortgage first! But, I will be PIF by the end of the weekend. We are paying for ALL of this and Christmas cash. No credit cards anymore! They are poison for me!!! LOL So, we are also depending on other people to pay their bills to us from Justin's business on time. When they are late, we are late. So, that kind of stinks. It is great money when it comes in...sucks when it doesn't!! I know we will have it, it is just stressful until it does! It's kind of been keeping me up at night a bit! But, I am being good and not getting those credit cards out! Anyway, waa waa waa! I'm done pouting! Let's keep our fingers crossed that the parks won't be too busy!
