It's Gingerbread time again!!!

Due to several reasons, mainly financial I was not going to enter the National Gingerbread Competition this year. I posted that news on my Facebook page and a bunch of my friends decided to raise some funds so I could!! I am completely blown away by their generosity and have now begun my creation this year.

I went on a material hunting trip at our local food co-op earlier today and found some really fun and unusual things to use this year.

I spent some time tonight roughing out my design to see if it will fit and look good on my 2 by 2 foot base board.

So far, so good! Judging is Nov 16, which leaves me just a little over 2.5 months to get it all together.

I am SO excited to be creating something again.

Hi Linda- i remember well the pix from last year's creation- it was fantastic!!! I know you can go out there and create beyond their imaginations. Good luck and please keep us updated. Caroline

i'm looking forward to seeing your creation! i tried to make a gingerbread cake once, and the smell of the molasses was so foul i was nauseous for hours. i was told the cake was good, though. best of luck!
