It's Frog Flippin Cold here!!!

The problem today was the wind. It was 12 mph and with the temp in the 30s it made an evil chill factor. The parks were deserted this morning I walked on to seveal rides with no waiting.

I just looked at the weather forcast on the weather channel and now they are forcasting showers for Saturday. For that I'm thinking one of those plastic ponchos you can buy in the parks. I really don't want to be cold and wet for the half and then do the full the next day with it 27 degrees.

But we will get through this, we are athletes. It's what we do.

We're not going in to the parks as it's too cold. In the summer we will not go in until its night as it's too hot.:lmao:

Perhaps with the weather like this Toy Story Mania may have a half decent stand-by line.:thumbsup2

Suddenly, my Sunday race is looking a lot nicer - guarantee of no wind, no precipitation, and low humidity. And temps probably close to 70, which is a bit warm. (The downside is that it is 150 laps, so it's not all beer and skittles.)

For weather like this - dress in layers, and I really recommend toss clothes. Go to the local goodwill, and find a pair of cheap sweats. Appearance won't matter, because these are clothes you wear only until the race begins. It's a lot nicer to stand around in an extra layer and toss it at T-2 minutes than be cold for an hour or two.

Ok, I am now the proud owner of compression pants, an ear band, hand warmers, foot warmers and a mega warmer -- not exactly sure where that goes? :confused3 I have shorts to go over the pants, a tech shirt, WISH shirt over the tech shirt, gloves, hat, fleece jacket -- if I have time to buy some sweats I will, if not I'll be getting the throw away pants at the Expo. I'm packing my lip balm, and also my WISH visor. I also have a windbreaker with a hood, just in case. I've added ponchos for me and dh. I'm hoping this should be enough. I'm not good with the cold, even though I live in Boston!

With everybody talking about adding layers from goodwill and salvation army, I figured it would be a good idea to share what we found. Looking on the clearance rack at Ross (like TJ Maxx), we found sweat pants for 1.99 and 1.49. Granted, they were several sizes too big and only on the ladies rack. But, with a couple safety pins, they work great and pull off right over our shoes. Also, found $5 sweat shirts on the clearance rack at Kohls in the men's dept. So, I guess what I'm saying is since we are looking for throwaway layers, don't just look for your size/gender....deals are out there to be had. Good luck and see y'all this weekend.

I found some really nice ski pants and lined pants for only $4.99. As cold as it is, might not even get rid of then ;)

Anyone know of a Good Will or Salvation Army thrift store close to Disney? I'm thinking a parka might be a plan.

I'm glad you guys are taking this seriously, it can make the difference in being miserable and having a good time. Heck we paid big bucks to do this it needs to be fun.

I can deal with the cold, but the rain needs to stay away!! Off to deal with the cold in Epcot...

I was just watching one of our local news stations and the weather guy said there is a chance of MIXED precip on Saturday!!! :scared1:

One thing about Florida that some may not know, the coldest point of the day is right around sunrise, so the chance of that mixed precip is higher at the start of the half than it is prior to it. Plan accordingly folks.....
