YEEEEHAAAA after 20 yrs working for a municipality (City Work) I'm signing my retirement papers today. I'm giving them two weeks and l'm done. Now time to go full time at my cart business!!! Good things to come That means more time at the Fort!!!!!!!

WRONG When I retired back in 1990 it only took a few years from getting up around 4:30 to now it's anytime from 3AM to 4:30AM Of course I tend to turn orange and start looking like a pumpkin after around 8 to 9PM each nite

Oh, no you won't!!!

I retired from the TelCo in 2003 after 30 years. My final year I actually drove from FtW to Tampa for 4 months while my DH wiled away his days at The Fort (he retired a year prior to me - the stinker).

I got up each morning at 4:30a prior to retirement & it took me exactly 3 days to re-adjust my internal clock to 6:30a. It's now stuck there - but that's okay with me!!

I'm glad you have something planned out & modifying golf carts will be a real hoot! You could drum up enough business from FtW alone!! On a serious note - if you're close enough to the Fort, you might want to go into a long term cart rental business. You alone cannot actually deliver them into the Fort, but, if a guest accompanies you with their windshield pass & key card, you can get in. We have a few friends that do this while spending the winter at the Fort. It could be a lucrative business!

What a Merry Christmas present for you!! Good luck & congrats! There is truly life after working for a utility!!

Thanks all, Im moving to the St Augustine area within a year I hope. Its just not the time to sell my house, soon as it pics back up Im putting it up for sale and Im gone. Its too far for me to rent but I sure can bring parts to folks at the fort when I go. Well enough of that I dont want to spam. Be sure to retire to something, not from something. You have your cart business, so you're set there. As far as the internal clock thing, after 27 years with the Army waking at o dark thirty, I still do everyday, even on vacation, weekends and holidays. Deb doesn't know what she is talking about, but that should be obvious since she is still convinced she has seen otters patrolling the lake at FW.

By the way, I will be busy this weekend posting your telephone number on every public restroom wall I can find, with a note : "For a good time, call Ron"
