I went shopping for Halloween decorations yesterday at Target, you know, since it's the beginning of October, Halloween month. They had about 3 aisles of items to choose from. The whole back section of the store was Christmas! I couldn't believe it. It's earlier every year. It's one thing to have it out soon, but to clear out all the Halloween items this early making room for X-mas? :confused3

I must add, I have never seen such a nice, neat display of Christmas decor. Since people aren't buying it yet, it's not thrown everywhere! I guess I should get some now, since it will be picked over by November! :sad2:

At this rate, it's going to be Christmas in August! :sad2:

You're right, this is the best time to buy Christmas decor, because it's not all picked over! :thumbsup2

It really annoys me too. It was like this the other day at Michaels. It was like Halloween had been pushed to the back of the store already on October 1st. :sad2:

I went to Target last week, too, and saw the Christmas aisles.

It annoys me, too, but I do enjoy being able to buy the nice things before it gets picked over, too. :)

Too late!!! I saw Christmas decorations in the dollar store before Labor Day.

I hate seeing the decorations up so early because by the time the season rolls around, I get tired of looking at it.

Wow. That's rediculous! I agree with you though. It's hard to get into the Christmas spirit 5 months prior!

Thanks for posting this---I needed to get some more gift tags.

Yes, I finished my Christmas shopping already (all online) & most of it is arriving on Friday. So, it's either get it wrapped immediately or deal with a group of nosy kids for the next 3 months.

Wow! Good for you! :woohoo:

We put ours out a few weeks ago, not by choice. Corporate sends the stuff so darn early and we have no place to store it so it has to go up. Hallloween candy gets delivered to the stores over the summer! I expect we'll have Valentines stuff in the beginning of December.

It doesn't bother me so much that it's out early, as it does that the other holiday items get shoved aside. It's like not being able to find a bathing suit or shorts when it's hot out, because they were all sold in February!

Brianne- wrapping early is a great idea! I buy early b/c ds's birthday is Dec. 23 and it's a lot to get at one time. I never thought about wrapping it to cut down on snooping! I may as well since I have my pick of wrapping paper right now. :santa: lol

It doesn't bother me at all about Michaels having Christmas stuff out already. It's a craft store. Many people like to start their homemade gifts early.

I saw Target was setting up Christmas items 2 weeks ago. It was way in the back of the store though. Many of the items like characters stockings looked exactly like the ones they had on clearance last year, except it's full price again.

Was it Christmas or were they celebrating Happy Holidays? I think last year they didnt denote one place in there catalogs that is was Christmas--just happy holidays. Although it was Christmas which was the reason for there heavy advertizement plus when they expected to make the most money over any other time of the year.

Make sure you use lots of tape though. I speak from experience--I'm the queen of snooping. :lmao: It's easier to store everything when it's all wrapped though; otherwise I'd have boxes upon boxes everywhere, especially since I order from Amazon usually, who likes to ship things one item at a time!

My rule is to have it all done by Halloween because we've got multiple birthdays in Nov & Dec, school concerts, holidays & of course Christmas decor trips at Disney to make. ;) At least getting it all done early guarantees that I'll have everything in time & in stock!

Doesn't bother me, I like the look of Christmas. They can start it in February as far as I am concerned. :)

Looks like I'm headed for Target tomorrow! :rotfl2: I started buying Christmas decorating stuff in August. Our house is decorated by Nov.1 or 2. It takes 1 or 2 days for me to decorate and I'll be darned if it's not going to stay up for 2 mos!:santa:

I must say that I was in Michaels on Saturday and bought ornaments that would make excellent bows (instead of bows on the packages). It's early but I want to get it all done so I can enjoy the holidays.

I'm half done with my Christmas Shopping and have wrapped and mapped my gifts and hideaways till the big day!

I know, I went into a local store on October 1st and they had the Halloween Candy moved to the back of the store and marked "Clearance."

:confused3

I don't know about anybody else but at our house you can't buy Halloween Candy until October 30th or it just gets eaten.
:rotfl2:
