I'm kind of an part time hobby camera person. I'm still trying to figure out the setting on this camera. But I love taking pictures! I wanted to major in it...but a professor told me in so many words that I sucked. So I kind of dropped the idea.
SLRs change your life. I mean it's always good to have point in shoots for going out and spur or the moment things. But taking nice pictures are almost guranteered to come out great with SLRs.
I'm happy I got my kind of one. I want to upgrade someday but I can't cough up $500 + for a camera right now haha!
I think it would be amazing to take photography for a living! Of course, I don't have the eye for it. Even when I think of an interesting shot, there's really no way that I'd be able to pull it off without learning a LOT about cameras and photography. But that's why I love WDW even more; it's a place where anyone can take a million pictures that won't receive criticism! Everyone just wants any glimpse of Disney!
If Weird doesn't buy the SLR now, he'll definitely be getting it when we're married. I'll always carry the point and shoot with me because it's something I've done since college. Then he'll have the SLR for special occasions. It'll be nice to have good pictures from his camera!
Woo Hoo for your new bag!

It's so cute! I'm glad I could inspire you to get something new for the parks. I can't wait to hear how it goes for you since we are both used to carrying a backpack in the parks. You can give me pointers.

I'm even more excited now!
Ok--still have to read your DHS post...I just had to come over & comment on your bag.
(I hope I didn't use too many exclamation marks in this reply)
Hehe, yup! The bag buying was all because I saw yours! I love it so much; I received it in the mail this past Thursday. I'm already thinking about what I can and cannot bring because it's just not what I'm used to carrying. I'll definitely pass on pointers if I have any!
And exclamation points are awesome! I know I overuse them on DIS. It's totally weird, but I already have part of my first installment for my TR written already. In it, I point out the exclamation points thing, that I'll probably be so excited that there may be times I'll use more than one if the situation warrants it! Haha.
Wow--from those pictures of the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground, it hasn't changed much. I was so excited when we found that the 1st time we were there. I loved that movie as a kid!
When my DS was 4 I let him steer the car we were in on the Speedway and, of course, since he was only 4, he couldn't really steer, so we were constantly going back and forth on the middle rail--clang! clang!--Well, he thought it was the steering wheel's fault and he was getting so mad at it! I caught it all on film and it is hilarious! We just watched it the other night.
Do you plan on riding Tower of Terror? It's one of my favorites.
Even though the quality of the movie isn't that great compared to today's standards, the concept is still fantastic! The movies in the 80s and early 90s were definitely better thought out. I mean, Back to the Future? ET? So much better movies than the ones we get nowadays. I like that these things can still live on in WDW parks and at Universal (well, not so much Back to the Future!).
Haha, those are the moments to remember! We only have pictures of older trips; dad never carried a video camera around. Now it'll be easy to capture my non-existent kiddies on video because there's something about seeing it all instead of just having still photos.
I don't think we're doing Tower of Terror. Well, not "I think." I'm not. There's really only a .000000001% chance that I'd ride it again in my life. I rode it a long time ago before the dropping was randomized. I remember it only dropped halfway, went all the way back up, and then dropped again. I also freaked out by the ghosts beckoning the car forward. I don't think I can handle a series of drops!
