It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like...

In our kitchen we have motion lights so if it's at night and you don't want to blinded when you get up for some water you don't have to hit a switch.

At Christmas we unplug the rope lights and put up Christmas village.

So at night you get this:

Love that! Great use of space.

Finally outside is ready for some photos which I will grab tonight. We just need to put the boxes back in the basement which will happen once I build the second set of shelves this weekend.

So I finally got some good pictures of all the decorations around our home (and managed to ignore the mess.

The outdoors turned out well, though snoopy seems to be losing his brightness....I might put a small string of while lights in his base to light him up. The garage white lights help out the dimmer red and green lights. I might test not turning on our porch lights too, they are all on wifi switches so its easy to play with.

Inside this year is 3 trees, one in the upper window, one on the lower left room (library) and one in our family room. I forgot to move my wifes teaching station that I put together for her at the beginning of the school year.

The stockings will move to the mantel christmas eve. The fireplace is a ventless propane so we don't like to hang them in front of it till then as a safety issue. We also bought the Disney book advent calendar. There is a cute story to read each day. We take turns reading after dinner.

Our designated christmas card area at the entry of the house. And the many generation old knitted carolers that Melissa got from her grandmother on the shelf below our custom guest book from the wedding.

Along with our Charlie brown tree and Nascar nutcracker (white elephant gift.)

We are done decorating for this season, knowing me we will add more next year....but that will be next year.

love the monorail
Ha! We haven't put it up in years. I have Spaceship Earth and the Contemporary but they take up too much space. This house doesn't have as much room as the one in Maryland so I haven't had the train board out in years either. O gauge Lionel's with Department 56 Christmas village. Maybe I'll hinge it to the wall in the garage and set it up next year.

So if you believe it we put up our Xmas decorations today. First I actually love tacky, fiber optic trees. This is definitely not what you might expect from me but here are the limited decorations we sometimes do.

First time for the stocking wish we thought of it sooner.
