It has been ten years since I took my wife to Disneyland for our honeymoon. My family has visited WDW once since then, but I have a few questions regarding a trip to DL we are planning this July. Could any of you experienced with the ins and outs of DL help me out?

Does DL have early entry once again, and are the three DLRs the only way to get this priviledge? Do the good neighbor hotels offer it, or can you get in early by buying a special admission ticket.

I have a Platinum level membership with Starwood, and I'm a government employee. Would anyone recommend the Sheraton Anaheim?

What is the best way to get from LAX to Anaheim?

Any other advice would be grateful. Thanks!

The Disneyland resort got rid of it's early entry a while ago. i believe they just decided to open a bit ealry for everyone. There is no getting a head start any more. I suggest getting to the gates half an hour early and going gung ho the first few hours!!!
The Sheraton is a decent place. It is not fancy though the lobby and restaurant is really nice, the rooms are of average decore though very large. The courtyards are pretty and the hotel had a Tudor theme. The hotel is located behind Disneyland on Ball Rd. and is not an easy walk to the parks. I have heard the shuttle is good. I probably will not stay there again as I like to be near the entrances to the Disney property and don't want to rely on shuttles.

Do any of the hotels near the entrance have a really great pool that my boys would enjoy?

Of all the places I have stayed around Disneyland, none of them have any particularly imaginative pool except for The Disneyland Hotel and The Grand Californian. Most of them are rectangular or kidney shaped. There are two pools at Howard Johnson. One is being remodeled right now, supposedly into something fun but when I was there in December the pool appeared to be rectangular. The other pool is nice and maybe L shaped and is surround by pine trees. The pool at the Desert Inn and Suites is small but inside which can be fun for kids but very noisy for adults. The pool at the Candy cane is pretty small but surrounded by pretty gardens, as if the kids would care!! ;) The pool at the Anabella was nice looking too but nothing "fun". The pool at the Sheraton was decent too. I hope someone else can chime in here and help out! :)

Are you locked into LAX? I would suggest Ontario as a great alternative! It is a wonderful airport, easy to get in and out. also, only about 40 minutes from D-Land. Just a suggestion. There is I Super Shuttle from both airports, and you can also rent a car.

have fun!
