I have been away from the boards for a long time, but finally am able to begin planning another trip to the world! These boards were so much help with our last trip, so I am counting on you guys to help me again. We are looking at sometime in October and wondered what the best deal going for that month is? I am willing to buy an annual pass if it is gonna be the best rate for a room with it, but I also see the free dining offered until Oct 3rd, but that says only if you pay full price for a room, so I am not sure that is all it is cracked up to be. Please let me know your thoughts on all the offers they have going. Thanks in advance for your help. We usually stay at the boardwalk area, but would consider one of the moderates.

Whether or not free dining is the "best" for you depends of several variables.

#1 Where do you want to stay?
#2 How many adults and children in your party?
#3 What is your dining style?

For me FD was the most cost effective choice for my family because we tend to eat 1 table service meal a day. We are staying at a moderate and we have 2 adults 1 child. The dining plan has a value of $39 per adult and $11 per child. So for us about $90 per day. If I got and AP discount during that time I would have saved $44 per night on my room. So for spending $44 more I have a $90 value. Works for me.

I would say though if you prefer to do all CS meals getting free dining would not be the best choice for you because you would now have to do TS. If you plan to saty at a Deluxe resort they tend to offer steeper room discounts so it may not be a good value if you have a small party size.

If you are going to stay @ a moderate, and you have at least 4 people it might be in your best interest to start your trip by Oct. 3 so you can get free dining. We usually stay at a moderate, but with the economy like it is, we opted for the value w/ free dining, which saved us an extra $900!

4 adults & we like the Boardwalk, but like I said, we could go with the moderates if it were worth it.

I think CBR has the biggest rooms of the moderates, go with free dining, no joke. But you would have to go with what resort is available too. Free dining is the way to go.

like the other posters have said it depends on where you stay on what and how you like to eat, but I thought I would share info on our trip.

We are a family of 5 booked at POLY during Free Dining, for my Daughters Birthday, I received a PIN just this week for 40% off my room resv, to help celebrate her birthday so I called to see what the better deal is, Free Dining by about $300. So we kept what we had. I also ran the numbers again after I got off the phone CM was right.

Good luck and Happy Planning!!!!!

Is there a way to get a quote with the pin code online without having to call every time?

No, unfortunately you can't use a PIN code for a quote without calling. However, if you want a quote for free dining, you can do that online, as it is a public code, or if you'd like I can try to run some numbers for you.
