Every day of the work week, I eat a Fuji apple. They're just the right mix of sweet and tart, and they're not mushy like Red Delicious can be.
But...in my area, they're hard to find three or four months out of the year.
So I went to the grocery store this evening to buy the week's groceries, and I see the Fuji's are gone. Fine, I'll pick something else. But everything else is under-ripe and hard as a rock. Grrr.
How about pears...nope, same thing. Peaches and plums, too. I was getting desparate, so I picked up some bananas. I hope they'll be good through next Friday (I got some green ones).
<sigh> I'm so sick of these 'super stores' with their 'fresh from the vine' produce that is neither fresh nor right from the vine. Grrr!
