How are you feeling?

I know. I fell asleep right after putting DD to bed and I woke up about 4 hours later. I've been up since, and I have to leave for work in about another 3 hours, so I'll just stay up.

I am feeling more like myself the last day or so! Thank you for asking.

"yesterday" (less than 12 hours ago), I took DD for a followup with a plastic surgeon. Back in March she went headfirst into some steps and got a nice gash on her forehead and a ride in an ambulance!! She's okay but we enlisted a plastic surgeon to try and minimize the scarring. That's what everybody said to do, so we did it. Anyway, I knew this was going to happen... halfway through the checkup the doc stopped looking at DD and started looking at me! He was very intrigued by the large incision that was made behind my ear. As we were making our next appt. in the lobby, he came back out to tell me that if I ever wanted to ask any questions, I had a standing invite to come in, no appt. necessary. I am not so sure this a good thing to have! I've been jokingly referring to it as Frankenstein's Ear... now I am thinking it might be true.

Let's see how people react to seeing it at work tomorrow. This is the first time I'll be at this particular job in a few weeks!

I'm on a 2 week staycation, so I've been busy relaxing. Been posting pics of my time at home for at least 5 pages back.

Frankenstein??? You know that pea-n-me has posted a Fall Scavenger Hunt on the photoboard. It's one of the categories....


Be interesting to find out how your work colleagues react to the ear; if you got that reaction from the doctor.

OMG! We just got back to the room from the Oktoberfest! It was so much fun. We closed down the place to the point that security came to our table and explained we had to leave because "they were closing the venue". I'll have a complete update with food porn and details on my PTR, but it was an awesome time. No food coma but definitely overload, too much fun, and the best part is leaving the park when it is closed and deserted! Stewing my tub now and going to enjoy the jacuzzi!

I'll have to check out that Fall Scavenger Hunt. I've been meaning to find time to hone my photography skills in preparation for our next trip.

One thing I have going for me is that I am in desperate need of a haircut, which means that it's not as easy to see... from a distance.

It will be funny because there are many moments at this gig where I sit with someone right next to me on my left side. This person is always changing throughout the day as well. So it will repeat itself... they will turn to say something to me, and be looking me straight in the ear from a distance of about 3 feet!

DD is fine. she bounced back pretty quick. Other than the gash there was no damage. The surgeon did a good job and the scar is fading very nicely.

I'll have to go back in time and check out your pics.

Maybe we need to set up a Word Bingo to see how many cuss words people use when they notice!

at this job, I am a technical director of financial news segments. Short interviews and commentaries, mostly. So, I spend most of the day sitting in the control room at the controls of the cameras and the switcher. On a busy day, around 10 different production teams will have a few segments each that they want to produce. so at minimum, 10 producers will be sitting next to me. If they change things up within their team from one segment to another, I could potentially see a different producer each time. I'm going to put the over/under at 15.

• People that stop talking mid-stream when they notice your ear
• People that try to ignore your ear
• People that keep staring at your ear
• People that ask if you were involved in a fight
• People that ask the obviously stooopid question...."does it hurt?"

Your job sounds like it's just so full of scintillating content....but then given the GFC and the PIIGS, it must be a laugh a minute right now.

Next trip is a doozy... thinking about doing a PTR for it once I finally get around to finishing the current TR.

As of right now, we're booked on DCL 4 night Bahamas cruise on the Dream August 1-5, 2012. We have not booked yet, but WILL be booking two separate WDW stays to make a "cruise sandwich". The length of each of those and where we'll be staying is still up in the air.

The cruise is in celebration of my parents' 50th anniversary. We have 17 people going, in 6 rooms. It was 18 originally, but my brother broke up with his GF.
