I'm on staycation holiday. Given that when I'm on proper holiday, I move at a cracking pace....why did I think that being on staycation would be any different?

I'm hoping to take ALL DAY tomorrow and stay home. Sadly, I'm already mentally planning what I'm going to do tomorrow. :sad2:

I'm thinking of going to a hardware/garden centre and getting some Dynamic Lifter, Blood and Bone and Saturaid. Then I'll come home and scatter some around the garden beds, dig it in and see if I still have some energy to get some Organic Compost. :rotfl:

Carol Channing's voice is so grating it isn't funny :headache:

She's mellowed with age! :lmao:

Have you gone to see her yet?

We got out around 9PM she went an hour over! We just got home about 1/2 an hour ago.

I love Carol Channing. Don't like her speaking voice much; but she's a grand ole' lass. :lovestruc

She was hilarious! I'm going to have to try and jot down in a word doc, some of the things she said so i don't forget for my PTR!

Whats on the agenda tomorrow

Cooking three turkeys, two hams, two chickens, some steaks and a bunch of chicken pieces that I found had thawed out before I left for DL on Friday! I rescued them to the fridge, but they need to be cooked ASAP now! :headache:

I am privy to those words as I dont garden. But it sounds like fun. Okay maybe not to you. :lmao:

Have you ever tried to compost at home? I make about .75 meters cubed a year. Though I do borrow the grass clippings from a neighbor for about half of it.

What are you gonna make and how are you going to store all of the cooked food?

Cracking?? I don't know if I'll be moving at a cracking pace tomorrow....but I can guarantee that I'll be moving at a creaking pace the day after.

I would never presume to call what I make at home "compost". We've moved towards a Bokashi system for our kitchen scraps. As a result, we've been able to swap our rubbish bin that the council collects for a smaller bin. :thumbsup2

skiingfast - I've just caught up on shushh's blog. She just posted Heaven on Earth in Montana. Is that anywhere near you? It looks beautiful.....heaven on earth indeed!

You asked what was on the agenda tomorrow, not tonight! :lmao:

While my parents were here, I noticed the gasket was not sealing properly, but with all the excitement, I forgot about it! :sad2:

What are you gonna make and how are you going to store all of the cooked food?

Fran thinks she's going to replace the gasket on the freezer and we can use it again. I figure it's history and we'll need to replace it.

Right now I'm eating part of a boneless chicken breast (drop in the bucket) as chicken florentine. She ate a ham sandwich (we had about 7-10 packets of sliced cooked ham, from previous hams). The good thing is that everything went into the freezer pretty much immediately after coming home from the grocery store. Normally with larger meats, you can keep them in the fridge for a week or so before cooking them. Everything was still frozen last Saturday when I first noticed the problem so I figure I have until the end of the week.

Things that have been cured like Ham and Corned Beef can go a little longer. Saturday we have a band rehearsal and one guy was planning on making Lasagne. I will tell him that I will bring some Turkey as well to supplement his Lasagne. The rest I will slice for sandwiches or casseroles and refreeze. If nothing else we have some room in our #2 freezer, the office #4 freezer and #3 is vacant, we haven't put it on the market yet. If we fix or replace the garage freezer, I can put all the sliced cooked meat in there. Ugh! Just what I wanted when I come back from a fun weekend at DL!
