It's All Waaaayyyy Too Confusing 4 Me!!!

These boards are amazing, but can sometimes confuse the mess out of me!

Here is my plan, but have been confused by what I have read.

I woke up this morning with these intentions, after having spoken with my girlfriend in our secret planning to take our kids to WDW this summer. I was booking our vaca as follows in anticipation of the FREE DP promo rolling out next month and calling in to have our ressie adjusted to reflect the FREE DP!

HERE GOES:

Port Orleans Riverside (request for Magnolia Bend, 2nd floor, exterior room)

Saturday, August 23rd arrival

Monday, September 1st departure

4 day park pass (no hopper, no water park)

MYW with Dining

flights on AirTran

Magical Express

Book the entire package thru the website as I always do, except dont pay for entire vaca in full, but only make $200 deposit and payments. When FREE DP promo rolls out, call CSR and ask for adjust if room avail at POR! RIGHT!?!?

I read another thread that said they were told by a Marketing Manager at WDW that it was for new ressies ONLY! and no exceptions would be made! Then another thread stated that the maximum days on FREE DP was 7, but our vaca is 9 nights. Some said it can be extended, others said it requires 2 ressies.

I missed out on the FREE DP last summer, but heard about it from a very nice women I met at the pool at POR last year who had taken advantage of it for her and her family, so I dont want to miss it this year!

Can someone please starighten this out for me and please tell me how to book this ressie today...or do I wait!!??

Since it hasn't been actually announced yet, and the person stating it's for new reservations only is brand new here and is simply relating what she states was a phone call with someone at WDW who was too new to understand that she shouldn't be telling secrets...I wouldn't, and am not going to myself, worry too much. It might be true, it might not be, we'll all likely find out in a few weeks!

We would all like to know all the details NOW. You will find a different story almost every time you call and talk to a different CM. Any report from a veteran or a newbie is just rumor and speculation at this point.

Well, I booked the ressie...complete with dining! Guess I will just wait for the promo announcement and start sprinkling my pixie dust when the time comes!!!

That's exactly what I've decided to do. I too have been SO confused!! But thanks to some veterans who have way more experience with free dining than I do, I will be keeping my current MYW+dining package and just wait and see what happens.
