It's all about the shopping... with Wigd and Shocker

This is what I'm leaning towards, only problem is that Justin will have finals the last two days of school (that's when they always schedule them ) so, I'll have to go have a talk with the counselor and see how receiptive they are to him taking them early.

I'm not really concered about pulling Jared out early at all.

Wow, this sounds familiar! Since the beginning of the school year Justin has lost his phone, a shirt, a hoodie AND he left his $125 basketball shoes in the locker room at another school! Thankfully we got the shoes back. How old is Baylor again? I swear as soon as they hit 13 boys get stupid, I'm just hoping I survive to see the day when Justin's mind returns to him
I wonder if they will have finals on the make-up days, knowing that people have vacations planned and will most likely be pulling kids out of school....
Baylor is 12, he loses everything! Just a few nights ago he told us he lost a wii controller. Must have left it at a friends house.

How wonderful that you got to meet up with Trent and Tanya!! Good food, good entertainment and good "family". Sounds like a great night - and complete with shopping! Did you take pics of your new purchases?
It was so much fun seeing them!
I have lots of pics of the souvies! They won't be up til later in this slow moving report.

Cool, a snow day! Stay safe and warm! Do you have to go tomorrow? We are supposed to get flurries in the morning. they already delayed school for 2 hours!
Definitely! I'm ready for Spring!

I heard some rumors about an iphone 5, don't know when it would make it's debut though! That's what I'm waiting for. Sorry to hear about Baylor and the phone. You could get him a pay as you go phone and pop a sim in it til his contract is up???
Wow, that was so long ago, it's warm here now, but I see snow again in our forecast next Friday.
I'll probably get the 4 sooner than later. Then I'll pass mine down to Marc. Baylor will end up with the Blackberry.
Maybe he will be more careful with it.
Shocker, Try to contain your excitement about Basin!!!!
Hmmmm, did you think he was a faker?
Well, we just got a dusting of snow which I think means we will have school today. I hope so because our superintendent said teachers would need to report regardless. It's library day for me which means an easy teaching day -- I would rather have kids if I have to go to work.
So I can't remember did you end up having school?
Since I just so happened to be at this place on our TR, I thought I should bring these over here for you, Mr. Marc.

Enjoy, and have no fear - your beloved Basin is safe. ;)

For now.

You know you'd miss it if it left.

How would you ever be able to bathe with a bat or foam up with a frog if it weren't for Basin???
When Baylor is with us they wait outside for me. Baylor just doesn't like the smell inside.
Marc comes inside when it's just us.
Thanks for the Basin trip. I liked it!:goodvibes
Middle school brain.

My DS who never lost anything, remembered most everything became a ding-a-ling starting the last month of 5th grade. he started coming out of it midway through 8th.

I am glad I have the responsible, not losing, guy back now.
Middle school brain?:rotfl2:
Great, I guess I have this to look forward too! My DS, 10 next week, and in the 4th grade is already not very organzed and can't find things! I'm doomed!

Memom, great Basin pics!!! I love Basin!!!
You are so doomed!
Justin is a freshman this year, his didn't start until probably 7th grade though. At least I can take comfort in the fact that your DS grew out of it, hopefully that means mine will too!
Never give up hope!
Another snow day tomorrow.
You guys wanna come over and share that soup?

Three and four day weekends are becoming the norm around here. We're going to be a pitiful group of spoiled, whining teachers when we have a couple of five day weeks in a row.
I think I remember it was a cold day and wishing we could come and have soup with you.
I can relate to having a son who looses things.
It has been the case since he was young and at almost 17 he hasn't gotten any better.

He has had 3 cellphones already.
The last one I bought the Christmas before last and he had it a week before it didn't work. (he used it in a hot tub...)
He has been wanting/begging for an Iphone but I'm trying to teach him a lesson.
If ....ahem ...when ..."being positive"... he improves at school I will get him one this summer.

It's partly for me too because I hate that I have to call his friends when I want to talk to him. ;)
Cell phones make it very convenient to keep track of our kids. Wouldn't it be nice if they kept track of them? Hot tubs and cell phones don't mix....:sad2:
Oh I love Basin!! I need to get more of their products for my bathrooms!!! They have the cutest soaps ever!!!

Okay can I just throw it out there...NO MORE SNOW!!!! I had my one snow day along with most of the rest of the country!! Now its time to start warming up LOL!!!!!!
I'm with you on both, basin and :headache: snow.
So ready for warmer weather and spring!
:rotfl2: Thanks for the heads -up. I guess I better start practicing now!

Hey - is this a conspiracy????? I can't make a complete fool of myself on the first dinner of our trip. That needs to wait for a few nights!
If I could get some lessons I'd be happy to dance with you!
I wish I was strolling through Basin right now. :
Me too!
Shocker likes smelly girly soap, Shocker likes smelly girly soap...

Wait. No. ACTUALLY...

Shocker likes smelly girly mickey head soap... Shocker likes....

;)
I think he really does like smell of that soap, but he only gets to use the shampoo that I bought him. I won't open the soap. :lmao:
I totally agree, Jen, the problem is that it is too dang cute to use!!! :rotfl: I STILL have a bar I have not opened b/c I like looking at it!
I have more than one that aren't opened!
So true, they are too cute too use!
I hate to even open them!
You're going to be in so much trouble when he sees this!
He said he was used to the abuse....

That was the idea
I think you are safe now!
Your week sounds a tad bit crazy! Good luck with all those conferences! :goodvibes
I made it through! I'm good until next October now...:cutie:
It's conference week here also. I no longer have to deal with that as my sons are grown. I used to sub so know all about those wild & wooly days!:lmao:
My conferences all went pretty well! I have such a supportive principal that I can always turn to for advice should I need it...
Strategy, Shocker, STRATEGY. :thumbsup2
I like the way you think!
I really like thinking about where you are right now!!!
:sail:
I beat you home by a little bit. I had tutoring today. Hope your conferences went well. I know it has been a long day. Enjoy what little of your evening is left when you get home. It's so nice that you have along weekend to look forward to. :)

Did you do anything special for your Valentine's party? Since we left last Wed. at 1 and didn't go back, we didn't really have time to plan anything. We just let the kids pass out their cards, and a few brought candy and cookies, so that was it. I let them go outside for about ten minutes, and they were plenty happy.
We had parties at school for Valentine's Day. The kids brought their cards, passed them out, and the room mom's took care of organizing an activity and food for them. We just sat back and kept an eye on the festivities.
I'm right in the middle of that long weekend now. Just home from our first set of ball games, and heading back tomorrow.
I imagine you are getting some packing done. So exciting!
Yikes! What a week! Glad you have a four day weekend to look forward to at least!!
I really don't mind conferences. Most parents are supportive, if they aren't well, you just do your best to talk to them anyway...
I'm really enjoying this weekend.
We were supposed to have a 4 day weekend too, but instead we're making up snow days........
If I thought we were going to have to make up days at the end of the year I'd rather go on Monday.
Same here...although I was working anyway. LOL
I really hope we don't end up going after Memorial Day.
You're down to your last long, crazy day. Hope your conferences go well tomorrow. :goodvibes
Enjoy your 4 day weekend. We have a 3 day and I'm excited. Ben has a swim meet on Saturday so that day will be busy but my sister is coming so that makes it fun.
That last 12 hour day went faster than I thought. I was busy so there wasn't much down time.
I hope Ben did well!
We are making up one Monday. That's okay, though, because after back to back 5 day weeks, I'm going to Disney World. :wizard:
Didn't that feel really good to type?
COOL Memom! 2 more weeks!!!!!:cool1::banana::woohoo::dance3:
We were supposed to have Mon off too, but it is going to be a makeup day for DS.
I'll be shopping for wedding things on Monday...
Yippee!!!! :yay:
ditto!
Okay, it must have been because I read this thread shortly before bed last night, but I had a WACKY dream about Wigd and Shocker!!

I went to a diner with my family and they had a counter to order at, and a white board with the menu listed. At the top of the menu, it said "FOR SHOCKER" and some food item. I said, oh that's funny, maybe it's Shocker from the DIS! We looked around and saw some people who might have looked like Wigd, Shocker, Baylor and a blond girl and baby. I said, nah, I don't think that's them.

When we sat down to eat our breakfast, that family walked out of the restaurant and then I was more sure it was you guys!! OF course, then I was too embarrassed to say anything, because we'd been staring so long. I felt bad that you didn't recognize us either!!!

I'm so glad that was just a dream, because in real life, I CERTAINLY would have said hello and asked if you were who I thought you were!!!
I laughed when I read this, there is no way I wouldn't have said something to you!!!
That's what has happened to us. I just keep telling myself that is better than having to make up the days at the end of the year. :goodvibes
The district in the neighboring town was just forgiven their five snow days. I hope our board follows suit.
:surfweb:

It must be so hard - with those striking good looks!
Oh my goodness! It's getting deep around here.
How about this one gang.....I still have Monday off, but Megs has school now to make up for 3 days that they had to take off last week for illness. Tom is taking the day off.....I can't remember the last time the two of US were home together all day without our bugs!!!! EEEKKKK!!! :)
Can you both go and get her for lunch or have lunch with her? I'll bet she would really like that!

We did have school that day, thank goodness. I am just ready to finish up this school year and be done with it. It has been so rough in so many different ways.

I need my Disney trip more than ever!

When Baylor is with us they wait outside for me. Baylor just doesn't like the smell inside.

My allergies don't like the inside of Basin, but I do, I just can't be in there too long.

Middle school brain?:rotfl2:

::yes:: Official diagnosis.

Cell phones make it very convenient to keep track of our kids. Wouldn't it be nice if they kept track of them?

I can if I want, Verizon has an app for that, :lmao: but as long as they pick up and communicate when asked and are honest with us I am OK with not tracking them. :)

I think NOT opening the soaps is smart. Pretty but...they don't last long at all! Fine in the powder room but that's about it.

UGH my kids have the whole week off, I of course do not. Everyone here has fled to somewhere warm, except us. Next year Aulani, I swear!

Question for you, has Baylor done the pillowcase before? I really wasn't thinking about it for the E's, assuming they were too old but if you are getting one for Baylor....maybe not!

I'm ready for our March trip...
Then it can be May.
I love our Charlotte's Web unit.
Then it's time for our trips.

It's been a rough weekend.
I know you all will listen but not sure I'm ready to unload....

If I have any hint of sinus discomfort, I have to limit my time in Basin too.
Middle School brains....:lmao:
So with the verizon ap, do you have to plant a homing device on them somewhere?

I'm getting more soap this time.
Then when we come back, I'm opening one.
Or so I say now....

Aulani would be nice, we have talked about going too.

This will be the first pillowcase for Baylor, the nice thing is that you leave it for the autographs. Well you leave it and the sharpies.
Then you get it back all signed.
I really think he will like it.

I do love the unit we are about to start -- Greek mythology and The Lightning Thief but I would gladly trade it for the May trip to come quickly.

It's been a rough weekend.

Well, even if you don't want to unload, we are always ready with smilie hugs!

I'm getting more soap this time.
Then when we come back, I'm opening one.
Or so I say now....

I have one bar of Mickey soap left -- I am trying to decide when to unwrap it -- it must be done on a major countdown day, but not so soon that it runs out before the trip. LOL!

I had mentioned to Jill us taking pillowcases into the parks instead of autograph books this time or one time soon. We'd have to have a clipboard or some kind of hard surface to take with it, though. Another thought I had was just a blank canvas to be signed and framed to put in the girls' bedroom. Brooklynn already has a dozen autograph books, so we need to explore other ideas. I don't know that we'll see a lot of characters on this short trip, but we could start one and continue it for all of the 2011 trips together.

It's been a rough weekend.

Hugs to you! I'm sorry that it's been rough.
Something must be going around. School has been beating me up so much lately that I need full body armor.

Anita, I'm sorry it's been a rough week.
I hope this week is better.

I love the pillowcase idea. I wonder if anyone has done that in the parks.

REALLY??? REALLY??? NO, I MEAN REALLY??????????? As Goofy would say Gawwwwwsh!!! Does this mean when you ladies buy new BAGS that you don't use them when you first buy them?? You just hang them in the closet and look at them for a while? Well, I guess we have a different philosophy, I lean more toward the......"open the soap and burn the candles!! Life is too short!! and inbetween the fragrances of those, stop and smell the roses if you can!!" "men"tality!!!!!!

I love the pillowcase idea. I wonder if anyone has done that in the parks.

I have seen people with one in the parks. I stayed away from it (and the t-shirt too) because it seemed hard for some of the characters. I saw one at the Fairies and they were fine but I also saw one with Donald and he struggled. The fabric wouldn't stay still. Plus, I don't want to lug around something hard enough for them to bear down on. I like on the cruise that you just leave it with them. Makes it very easy!

Do you think putting the shirt or pillowcase into one of those sewing hoops would make it tight enough for the characters to write on? It really is a very cute idea!

It's always good to love what you are teaching...
Typically in second grade it's a weekly story here and there that I like.
Charlotte's Web on the other hand is the only novel we really teach...
I might talk one of these days, but I'll wait until I can without tearing up.
If you want to open that Mickey soap, I happen to know someone that can pick you up a bar or two in a few weeks.:rolleyes1

Along the line of what Brook said, maybe you could put your canvas in a frame with a back on it, without the glass and it would be easier to sign.
Of course there is always a need for the autograph book for those new characters, right?
Hugs to you! I'm sorry that it's been rough.
Something must be going around. School has been beating me up so much lately that I need full body armor.
Thanks, I might need to share soon. I think though that I'm rather sensitive.
Anita, I'm sorry it's been a rough week.

I love the pillowcase idea. I wonder if anyone has done that in the parks.
I hope it's better too, I was so looking forward to the weekend. I had no idea that I would be in tears at Baylor's basketball tournament...
I haven't seen anyone with a pillowcase in the parks, but Baylor did have Donald sign the Donald hat that Jen gave him and that turned out great!
REALLY??? REALLY??? NO, I MEAN REALLY??????????? As Goofy would say Gawwwwwsh!!! Does this mean when you ladies buy new BAGS that you don't use them when you first buy them?? Well, we do like to savor the moment of the new purchase.
Speaking of that, you will be pleased to know that I practiced some Vera Bradley retail therapy this afternoon.
It's still in the bag.
Not sure it will be used until the Spring Break trip....

Brook, I think that's a great idea and honestly, it wouldn't be hard to try that out before you took it to the park!

For some reason my computer has been acting up and the thought of an update was beyond me....
At the moment it seems to be cooperating so I'll get pictures pulled up and get busy as soon as I work out and get dinner on the table.

Ditto! Hope things are getting better!

The pillowcases are fun! We've done them on our two Disney cruises. I did one for me and one for Michael!!!! On our first cruise my friend made them for me, she has one of those fancy embroidery machines. On the second one I ordered them off ebay from the same lady that made my FE!
First cruise!

I don't have any pics of my pillowcases from the second cruise uploaded. If you want to to see them, Let me know and I will take some.
On the first cruise I had to pick them up at guest relations. It was a 4 day cruise.
On the second cruise they delivered them to the room.
I've only done the FE once, it was fun. I'm doing it again this year!

So with the verizon ap, do you have to plant a homing device on them somewhere?

Well since teens usually have their phone attached to them, the phone GPS is usually sufficient. The problem becomes when they turn it off or let the battery die. :rolleyes1
