Hi everyone!

My name's Kadye. I usually lurk over on the Budget board, but thought with all the planning that's going on in my head... I'd come join you guys in celebrating my trip to the World! I have another PTR floating around here... and I can't seem to find it. I had to take a hiatus with the Jeffrey Scott trial started up, because my old high school friends and I started contacting each other online to talk about it. It can be deleted if any Mods happen to come across it, as I'd rather just start a-new. :thumbsup2

I hope I have some people who will join me on my journey. I promise I'm not too boring... :goodvibes

So, I suppose I shall introduce you all to the cast of my story:

tonyrodkaytea.jpg

(This is a picture from our Fall Break trip to St. Louis, it's at Grant's Farm.)

First
He's in the middle of that picture. He's my DBF. He's 27 years old (his birthday was January 4th) and he just graduated college this past August with a degree in Education with a concentration in Music. (So... music teacher). He's currently working at a theatre (with me) on the stage crew where you do all the fun stuff, hang lights, build sets, work with electrical stuff, do sound stuff, etc. Basically, if you've ever seen a big name play/ballet/concert... it's all the stuff behind the scenes that makes it possible. That's what we do. He and I met my freshman year of college in the marching band (He plays Baritone & Euphonium... and Tuba if he has to). He was my bus captain. I guess he thought I was cute and it grew from there. :)

Then there's Rod. He's on the right in the picture above. He's 23. I met him before I met Tony, as he was my section leader. (We play Saxophone.) He's sort of Eeyore-ish... but, he's a good friend. He's still in college, and is getting his degree in Music Education, as well. He works at school, doing stage work for concerts... which means opening and shutting doors, opening the piano lid, and turning off lights. Haha. He's working on getting another part-time job.

Also, there's Kaytea. She's in the left in the above picture. She's 20. We've been best friends since the 7th grade. We've been through a whole lot together. I mean... I'm the only reason she passed Chemistry... and History, in high school. Earlier I mentioned the Jeffrey Scott case... well, his wife, Ashley Scott, was Kaytea's English teacher one year, and they e-mailed and texted and talked a lot. So, she was really hurt by this, so the trial's really getting her down... so the Disney trip is keeping her a little perky! Trying not to get too OT here... so I'll move on. She was in band with me in middle school, she played clarinet, but she moved on to drama in high school :clown:, and bid a not so fond fare-the-well to band nerds, and a hello to Drama dorks. Now, she works at a Day Care... taking care of all the little kiddies.

Then there's Hannah:

She didn't join us on our trip to St. Louis. She's 21 (she'll be 22 on the 26th). She's going to graduate in May with a degree in Piano Performance, and will be joining us again in the fall for Grad school! She and I have been talking a lot more, recently, and I'm proud to call her a best friend. I mean, she's crazy... just like the rest of us!

And finally, there's me:

I'm on the left (that's Kaytea on the right). I'm 20, and I'll be 21 on the 23rd. (A week from today!). I'm in the Pep Band for our men's basketball team (you might remember us... we're the ones who can't shoot free throws and lost the NC game last season). I'm an Integrative Studies major with a concentration on grades 4-8 Social Studies & Language Arts. With an English, History, and Music minor. (Why? Cause I can... haha). I have 3 jobs. I work at the theatre with Tony, I work as the Box Office manager at the School of Music at my University, and I'm also a Day Coordinator at the School of Music. As you can see, I don't sleep much! When I'm tired... I get really silly... :joker:, so beware... as the semester at school, and the season at work just started back up!

3 other people that might be mentioned are: M, A, & J. They went to college with Tony, Rod, and/or myself at one point or another (or student taught at my high school) and they've graduated with degrees in Music Education. They'll play a part in at least one day of our actual trip, because we're going to meet up with them for a bit.

So... now you know the WHO.

Now, for the when:
June 3-10, 2009

Where?
Pop Century!

Now do you know why I said NERDS invade WDW? Well, we're a huge group of Music Nerds (minus Kaytea, the former nerd).

Please, join me on my trip! As... I can overly plan but be extraordinarily indecisive and will have lots of questions! (I haven't been in years... I don't count my half day visit to MK in '06 as a trip... it was a tease!)

So, time for the countdown, to commence! :hourglass

Well, I know the boys are excited because it will be Star Wars Weekends when we get there! So, Saturday or Sunday will become nerdfest day... and we'll all wear our SW shirts. But, being OCD, like I can be sometimes, I must plan from the beginning and work my way to that day (even though, I already know where I wanna eat at DHS!)

Day 1, the 3rd, will a pretty uneventful day... because we're driving. From Memphis. That's 13 hours, NOT counting potty breaks, food, leg stretches, etc. Though, we will NOT be traveling through Atlanta. As much as I loooove visiting there, I can't do their traffic. Especially when I'm on a mission to go see Disney. We'll probably do a straight shot through Alabama.

We'll probably leave at 5 (unless I can convince them to get up earlier... since I am the one driving... :drive:). Yoda, my trusty GPS (who talks to me in a Yoda voice... though when his voice changes, so does his name. Sometimes he's Sean Connery.) will get us down there. (I should update the maps soon, and find those Disney maps).

We'll just stop for lunch when we're hungry. Dinner will be paid for OOP (we're one the DDP).

So, for dinner I have 2 things planned.

If we're super tired whenever we arrive, we'll just eat at the Food Court at Pop.
BUT, if I can manage to get them to go, we will go to the Beach Club and eat at Beaches and Cream. (I wanna try the Kitchen Sink!)

If you prefer another quick-ish dinner place... what would you suggest?

Sorry for the hiatus! Although, it doesn't seem anyone's joining on my journey. It's okay! I'm doing it to entertain myself, anyway!

So far, we're getting more money towards our trip! My birthday is coming up! And I get a long weekend from work!

What does a long weekend mean? PLANNING! Which means, Friday (my birthday) since I have no work and no classes, I will start up on my planning again, so I can get ready to do my ADRs when it's time.

If anyone's following, any suggestions? Sadly, Jellyrolls is for 21+ and 1 member of my group is going to be 20, so we can't go there... but any adult-ish places/restaurants to hang out for non-21+?

Have a great day!:upsidedow

Hm...I'm in...this looks like fun! I'm a crazy planner too! I just started my first PTR for my December trip! Anyway, count me in!
OCD planners of the world, UNITE! :rotfl2:

I absolutely love your ptr title! :rotfl2: I come from a big family of music nerds. My sister was in the Marching Hundred and the pep band at Indiana University. My other sister is working on her PhD in vocal performance there. My family and I are all OCD planners, who can also be extremely indecisive.

Look forward to following you along your journey to the World!

Welcome! :cheer2:

I'm glad to have a fellow nerd join me! (Music Nerds are the coolest nerds!) :rotfl2:

So, welcome those who have joined! I'm excited to have people jumping on my nerdfest wagon! :cheer2:

Good news! I got in on a sweet Photopass Share for $12! I'm already saving money!

After much deliberation (not) we've decided not to go to the water parks. Why? Because:

1) It's their first visit... and I'd like to go to each park at least once so they can see some of everything
2)I can't swim :scared1:

I have torn feelings about Space Mountain being gone while I'm there. I've never ridden it before (I've only ever been on one roller coaster... The Hulk, and I was tricked onto that ride... yes, it is possible to be tricked into ridding roller coasters). And, I was kind of looking forward to it. Ah, but alas... 'tis another reason to GO BACK!

On to the title... where to go our first full day at the world? MK... duh! What WDW trip has ever truly started without seeing the castle up close and in person? (Side note... M, J, & A will probably meet up with us this day... they'll have to suck it up and go to MK! Even if they have other plans! Mwuahahahahaha!! Now, back to your regularly scheduled program) I'm hoping to get Crystal Palace ressies for before the park opens, so my dear friends can see main street and the castle without the mobs surrounding us!

So:
Breakfast: Crystal Palace

Lunch will be on our own time. Just, basically, whenever. I don't know how the rest of the day will go because MJA (I'm just going to make the 3 people into 1, now) will be with us. So that means dinner plans are MIA right now. Do you KNOW how much that bothers me? I have a disease!!!

*le sigh*

Also, on this trip (not to skip around too terribly much... as most of you are probably confused by now!!) we'll be having a guys/girls night out where the boys go off and we girls will go off and do our own things. And, on one night, it has been suggested that Tony and I take a date night. :) So, I think we will. Right now I believe he's looking towards doing the restaurant at Epcot in UK... Crown & Rose? (I'm having a total brain fart and can't remember the name.) And schedule it to be during the fireworks so we can watch from the restaurant. Secretly, I'd love for DBF to propose on date night during the fireworks, or a carriage ride before hand... but sadly, I don't think it's meant to be. Which is fine, it won't put a damper on my vacation!

I'm off to go read some more of all of your PTRs and TRs! I'll come back in the next day or so and write some more! (I'm taking tomorrow off work since it's my bday, so I might have plenty of time to update!)

Ooo...I love Crystal Palace for breakfast! And I agree with you, the trip must start with that glimpse of the castle, close up!

I've never eaten at Rose and Crown, though I am thinking about it for my December trip. You might also try Les Chefs de France (in France) for a back up. It was yummy!

Oh, and Happy Birthday!! (tomorrow) :):cake:

:) Thanks!

I'm looking forward to Crystal Palace!

I'll let you know how how Rose and Crown is. I've read the menu on allears.net and it seems like it will be yummy.

Ooh, you'll have to let me know how the photopass share works for you. I was thinking about doing it in August - if I can get in on it. $12 is definitely not bad!

I can't believe you were tricked into going on the Hulk! :rotfl2: I tricked my DH (he was DBF at the time) to ride the Son of the Beast at King's Island. He was not pleased. It stinks that Space Mountain is going to be down, but like you said, it gives you a reason to go back next year!!

Hope you have a very happy birthday tomorrow!! :bday:

I'm sitting in the box office, having a slow day at job #1 for the first time since the semester started, and I believe I'm all caught up on all of y'alls PTRs and TRs. June 3rd can't come quick enough! Today, I've been reading food reviews. YUM! I so can't wait for this!

So, here's what I have so far. Please, if you've been to these places, let me know what you think! If it's no good, I don't want to go and waste a TS or CS!

Beaches & Cream - oop
Crystal Palace Breakfast - 1 TS
HDDR (going more for the corny show than anything) - 2 TS
50's Prime Time - 1 TS
Toy Story Pizza Planet - 1 CS
Donald's Tusker House Restaurant Breakfast (Character meal, right?) - 1 TS
Rose & Crown (date night) - oop or 1 TS depending on how the rest of planning goes

And that's it so far. Any help would be awesome!

:goodvibes

So far the photopass share is awesome! I ended up paying $12, and that's it!

Haha! I wasn't too pleased either... until I didn't die. Then I was okay. Haha. In high school we went to FL twice for band competitions, and we went to Universal/Islands of Adventure both times. I was standing in line with them and I was going to walk straight off to the other side because that's where load off was and I was going to wait for them there... HA! They pushed me into the seat and buckled me in. The ride operator thought it was funny. The 2nd time I went of my own accord. Haha.

And thank you for the birthday wishes! It was great. I went to Chili's with my WDW group and DBF bought me a drink. Saturday I went with my mom, aunt, cousin, and Hannah to Tunica to gamble some. Sunday DBF and I went out to eat dinner at Red Lobster. It was a great 21st birthday. :)

I like your new lanyard! Ha ha. You'll get away with it much easier than I'm sure you would a fanny pack. :lmao:

Your list of restaurants looks fabulous! My family's all time favorite for breakfast is Crystal Palace. :) :) :) We go there every time we visit the World. I've also had ice cream at Beaches and Cream, and the atmosphere was very nice, although it's always crowded...

:rotfl: I told them if I ended up taking it anyway... I wasn't carrying their stuff in it!

I'm glad to hear my choices so far are good. I think I'm coming up on my 90 days in a month or so, so I gotta get to planning! I have a few more places to choose, do you have any favorites?

Oh, and my weight loss ticker! Thanks to my overfed birthday, I'm back to square one... meaning that loss is wrong and I gotsta fix it. I'm trying to lose about 20 lbs before Disney, because I'm unhealthy and would like to get in better shape before we go on a trip where you walk CONSTANTLY! I got a wii fit for my birthday and at school we have a Rec center we get to use for free. So, now I just have to stop eating junk food & drinking sodas... yeah... right... :rotfl:

Kadye with caffeine - :bitelip:
Kadye without caffeine - :badpc:

Kadye - you and I must have the same caffeine habits! Have you used your Wii fit yet? I got one for Christmas and am loving it! So much fun!

I do have a few other restaurants that I can suggest! Always, I am such a foodie. I have a list of restaurants I want to go to that would necessitate me needing to spend 2 weeks at Disney. And I still wouldn't hit them all!

I loved Liberty Tree Tavern at MK when we ate there. They aren't doing characters anymore though. Coral Reef is really good too, and the big tank is such a cool thing to look at. Nine Dragons is another one that I thought was soooo good. If you are looking for just a little break, Boulangerie Patisserie in France has yummy pastries, but I am not sure that I didn't like the little crepe station even better.
I eaten at Restaurantosaurus at AK, and had a muffin from the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery - can't complain about either one.
Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge was very, very fun - I think my family enjoyed it more than almost anything else. :) We like to eat. It takes me a very long time to plan all of my ADRs. I like to try everything! :upsidedow
