It's a Wonderful Life

Usually too much going on Christmas eve or day to watch, but we definitely watch at some point during the season.

"This old thing? Why, I only wear it when I don't care how I look!"

"Think I'll go home and see what the Mrs. is up to".

"This old thing? Why, I only wear it when I don't care how I look!"

"Think I'll go home and see what the Mrs. is up to".

"George Bailey, give me my robe."
"This is a very interesting situation."
"Shame on you. I'll tell your mother."
"Oh she's all the way up there."
"I'll call the police."
"They're all the way downtown."

I adore that movie. Just when you think you've completely messed up your life and no one appreciates you, you learn the world really was a better place because you're in it.

Also the idea that it's the everyday man who is the richest in town. Frank Capra at his best.

I love this movie. My husband and I always watch it during the Christmas season, and for the last few years the kids have joined in as well. "And, dance by the light of the moon."

I have never seen It's a Wonderful Life. I may be the only person who hasn't! I'm not sure why, because I know it's on many times during this time. One day I will have to sit down & watch it.

Although they aren't strictly Christmas movies, I love Little Women & Meet Me in St. Louis. I still watch them with my Mom & now my little daughters.

Over the last few days we have also watched White Christmas & Holiday Inn. Tonight it will be Christmas in Conneticut. :santa:

I watched it this year after not seeing it for many years. I had such a different perspective on it now that I'm a little older :goodvibes. When I was young, I used to feel upset that George didn't get his dreams. This year I was thinking - why doesn't he appreciate all the wonderful things he has - great wife, kids, a community that loves him. It was totally different with a few more years on me :rotfl:. Maybe its because I'm looking back on my life (which turned out way different than I planned) and I'm realizing what a truly wonderful life it is!

I love that part,so funny!!:lmao:

It is my absolutle favorite Christmas movie:love: as a matter of fact in some ways I feel I have lived a part of the movie,5yrs ago on Dec 17th my house burned down and we lost evrything except our lives even one of our dogs was burned in the fire. As I watched my house burn I felt utterly hopeless but next day the outpouring of love from my community, friends & family made me feel like George Bailey at the end. I ball my eyes out every time I watch. Mary

We have the DVD and watch it Christmas Eve. We start Thanksgiving night watching Miracle on 34th Street and finish our Christmas DVD collection with It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve.

I'm bummed I haven't caught the original Miracle on 34th St yet this year... every time it's on, it's the 90s version with that little girl from Matilda. Cute but no Natalie Wood.

White Christmas is a must. Love Holiday Inn too (I mixed those up for the longest time LOL).

Elf and Home Alone have become DS's new favorites. It's all about the slapstick for the 4 year old.

This one might sound weird, but DH and I try to watch "Love Actually" at least once this time of year, too. For me it's a modern holiday classic, and any "chick flick" that DH enjoys too is a keeper.

It's on AMC right now, and will play again tomorrow (Monday) night, first the colorized version, then the original b&w version.

That one's made it into my Christmas movie rotation too, I love it. And it's totally a Christmas movie. :thumbsup2

(and for Walking Dead fans, the videographer in Love Actually who's got a crush on Keira Knightly is the same guy who plays Sheriff Rick)

It's a Wonderful Life is my favorite Christmas movie. I've told people that if they're not moved by the ending that they are not in possession of a soul. :rotfl:

The part of movie that always kills me is the part about his brother, "Harry wasn't there to save them because you weren't there to save Harry. Don't you see, George? You've really had a wonderful life. Don't you see what a shame it would be to throw it all away?"

Love that movie.

Absolutely we watch it, every year on Christmas Eve while opening gifts. Our son is named James Stewart - how could we not? ;)
