It's a small world w/ECV?

Can someone please tell me how the ride works for someone using a ECV? She can transfer to a regular chair, but stepping down into a regular boat won't work.

She will have to transfer into a manual disney chair and then roll on the boat.

The special boat they use has a platform at the back which is flush to the dock. There is a center aisle which is a ramp going down toward the front. If sahe can sit in a regular seat she can get in and walk down the ramp until she gets to the seat she wants.

Similarly, when exiting she can go up the ramp and will not have any steps.

I've driven my ECV on the accessible boat at IASW. Your party loads first then you drive on and down the middle. It was easy.

All the things other people posted are choices she could make.

They so have some manual wheelchairs there that she could transfer to.

The wheelchair accessible boat has a ramp that she could walk down to get to a seat.

If she has a small ECV, she would be able to drive it right on the wheelchair boat. The signs and the Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities list Small World as requiring a guest using an ECV to switch to a wheelchair, but that is mostly for the WDW park rental ECVs, which are large and heavy duty. Most of the off-site rental ECVs should be just fine.

She should be prepared to tell the CM what she wants to do when she gets to the loading area for wheelchair/ECV users.

Yep, para here and I use my own wheelchair all the time. It's a little tough backing up the ramp by myself but not too hard.

Here's a picture of the wheelchair accessible boat.

The area with the ramp is pretty flat where you enter the boat. It slopes down a little toward the front. We take DD's wheelchair on Small World all the time. As Bill mentioned, it can be a bit of a challenge to back out, but is doable.
