"It's A Small World" soft opening has occurred - confirmed, photos available!

We rode Sunday and noticed that the boats "give" a bit more when bumped by other boats from behind. It was a nice change.

We also noticed an increased buoyancy in the boats, too. Especially with the heavier folks in the back of our boat. When one of the guys realized he was causing us to list to one side and centered himself, it was much nicer.:thumbsup2

We also noticed how much brighter everything was - you could really tell in the South Pacific room. You could also tell they replaced a lot of ceiling tiles. My husband commented that the ceilings in each room look so much better.

The best part - my oldest daughter saw it lit up and open and when we got in the line she hugged me so hard for 5 minutes straight, saying "Thank you, Mommy!!!!! Thank You!!!!!", like I helped make it happen for her or something. :cloud9: She was so excited, once we got on the ride, that she had to clasp her hands together to keep from exploding!

Oh - and to answer Sherry or whoever it was aobut the rainforest section.... they moved a small chunk of that (the hyena with the umbrella) into the end of the South Pacific room. They usually close the main Rainforest room during the holiday overlay, anyway, but it looks like it's a definite change going on.

We rode it during soft openings, and loved it! It had the added bonus of being walk-on lines since everyone else thought it was closed. We loved the ride and the piped in smells, but the boats are really odd to me. The rows are smaller than they were, and I don't think 4 adults can fit in comfortably. The colors seem a little off too. But, you can barely feel it when another boat bumps into you, so that's good. :)

My partner and I are going to be in Disneyland during the first week in December. Neither one of us have been during the Christmas Holiday season. I can't even begin to tell you how excited we are, especially to see the revamped IASW. Although my partner is dreading a little because he won't be able to get that song out of his head for the rest of the day, if not weekend. ;)

Well, if it's any consolation to your partner, for the holiday version of IASW, they integrate holiday songs in with the usual song that drives everyone nuts! So he may find himself humming "Deck the Halls" along with "It's a Small World"!;)

Oh no....He's going to kill me then. He's already irritated by all the Christmas music playing in stores and on the radio!

I'm going to have to probably ride it a 2nd time by myself. ha.

Well, hopefully he will be so entranced by the gorgeous and colorful holiday lights on the exterior of the IASW building (it really has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated) and focused on all the holiday stuff inside the ride that the songs will almost fade into the background!!! Remember to sniff the pine and peppermint scents!! I am trying to recall what other holiday song they stick in there besides "Deck the Halls." I am blanking out. I know there is another one in there too. Maybe "Jingle Bells"? It has to be songs that carry that same kind of cadence so they can be easily woven into the "It's a Small World" tempo. Well, just try to keep him from pushing you off the boat when he attempts to kill you!:rotfl:

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!!! Beautiful footage! The light show projected onto the IASW facade actually looks a little different than last year, I think, but no less breathtaking.

And how come I never noticed the Eiffel Tower on top the IASW?!!! See, I notice something new (to me) every time I go. I have been riding IASW since childhood and I have never noticed that Eiffel Tower on top of the building!
