It's a small world reopening!

I'm so glad to see the report that It's a Small World is reopening March 19! It is my ds 4's favorite thing. Last trip, if he got stressed by a ride which was scarier than we anticipated, we could go to I.A.S.W. and it would make him calm and delighted again. It must be a good sign for our trip: It is opening the day we arrive!

We will be there too, and making a point to get over and ride that weekend... DH did not like old version, maybe he will like new more modern version better...

I am thrilled about it also! Believe it or not, it is my 65 year old father's favorite ride!

I'm so happy that it will open by the time we go back. My family has been once and that was the very first ride that we rode. So, we decided that we would try to make that our tradition and ride it first on every trip. (I'm determined that we are going to go back for nearly every spring break now!)

What report? The website has been reporting a planning mid-March '05 opening for over a year now, so I do not think that it is necessarily updated.

Now, a posted sign at MK -- that's talking!!

We're going 3/22-3/28, so I sure hope you are right!

Oh, no! I had seen Mar 18th listed before---that is the last day of our trip. I really wanted to squeeze in one ride for DD's first trip!

I think what it said was it was in rehab until March 18 which means it would open March 19. That is what Debs site says as well. I am hoping it will be open the 18th as we have plans on the 19 and will be leaving the 20. Got to find time to see the new and improved small world or my DD will be miserable.

The official website has actually said Spring 05. It was just updated to 3/18 last week. I am sure that is what the OP meant by "report."

Actually, the site said "3/18" for the longest time, then it was changed to "Spring '05". Going back to "3/18" is a good sign -- but an even better sign would be if they are posting that at MK.

Hi. The "report" I am referring to is the home page of allearsnet.com. They usually are very reliable. I did double check before posting though. The WDW site does not list an open date, but says it will be closed until March 18. HTH

I'm looking forward to riding it. After our 1st trip last year (it was closed) I discovered that any ride that is inside and air conditioned is my new favorite ride!

My DD5 was pretty much crushed that it was closed on our last visit.

I'm excited to see what changes were made. I hope not too many, since I actually liked the "old" version.

I have done some reading on "reports" on this, and as I understand it, at the least a few new dolls (figures) will be added in the ride, also some new painting and major cleaning and refurbishment. I don't know that the actual plan of the ride will change, but some objects are updated. Guess we will know for sure in a few weeks! Hope the first DIS visitors will report back on the updates!!!

The last day of our trip is the 18th also, as another poster said. It doesn't bother me personally too much, but I am sure there are several in the party who will miss it greatly!

Does anyone know if they bother with soft openings for a refurb like this? Or is it simply opening up one day?

I'm hoping for a soft opening as well because we leave early on the 18th.
