"it's a small world" will not be operating May 2, 2004 -2005....I see that it is closing earlier that previously stated....

Darn it, I will miss it, I arrive May 1st and I am not about to go to MK on May 1st or 2nd.....which is saturday and sunday...

Well, my wife and I are now officially depressed. We arrive on May 8th, and we were expecting Small World to be open. I can't believe they changed the rehab schedule on us. We were so looking forward to taking our DS of 20 months on it. He gets excited when he sees clips of it on TV, so we know he has memories of being on the ride when we were there last September. Talk about taking the wind out of our sails as we get close to our vacation.

They just announced this yesterday... info online hasn't been updated yet. My CM mom informed me last night about the change, since we are coming to see her in a couple of weeks... I wasn't sure if I was allowed to say, so I didn't post about it.

We're offficially depressed here in Mississippi, too! My grandson sings this song almost everyday, and I don't know what to do now. I guess it's difficult for the parks to plan any rehab, as so many people look forward to different things on their trips. Please don't close it down yet!!

It's on the WDW website now We were going to be able to squeeze in one last ride since we arrived June 6th. This is DD#2's favorite--she will be so disappointed. And we are taking DH's extended family and it will be everyone's first(and most likely last)time. WAAAAAA!!!!!!

I know how you feel. DH, I & DS were arriving 5/29 & were going to hit Magic Kingdom on 6/1. My mother is coming down to WDW on 6/4 & that evening we were going to run over to Small World so she can ride it before it closes down.
I haven't told her yet, that it will be closed when we get down there

This also will be our last trip for at least 2 years, maybe even a little longer.

Oh, no! I am so disappointed! DH and I are taking DD2 for her first trip May 20-23 and we were so happy that it would be open for her! Also our friends and their DS first trip! ARGH! We'll get over it, but ARGH!

Only good news is that Snow White will open sooner. I am still upset thought that IASW will be closed.

I'm so sad too. My mom is coming with us and I don't think I'll tell her until we get there. It was my grandfather's (mom's dad) fav ride and we always went on it in his memory now that he is no longer with us. It's definitely one of my favorite rides but I do understand that it really does need a rehab.

This is on the official WDW website today:
"it's a small world" will not be operating May 2, 2004 until Spring 2005, however we recommend Pirates of the Caribbean as an alternative during this time.
