It seems everwhere we go we run into DVC members. This week we were at our daughters first College tennis match and started talking to the coach from the other team. Shes DVC at SSR. We really enjoyed meeting another DVC member and talking about how much we enjoyed the food at turf club. I still think we need a secret hand shake.

I haven't met any DVC owners outside of WDW yet, but I have seen a bumper sticker of DVC on the way to work and a license plate one time that just had to be DVC related.

It took me a while to "open up" and start talking about being DVC members (I know, how odd, right... almost like a guilty pleasure thing). When I did, I found out that FOUR of my volunteer team leaders own at DVC. We talked about it so much after we found out that two others joined. It's just one big happy DVC family. :)

Yes it is. There are a few here at my job who are members. I think they are all Key west. One also owns at BCV.

A co-worker of DH's owns at AKV. DH said they had talked about it at work one day. I asked how many points they owned and DH, in a very shocked fashion, said he had not asked that. He thought that was like asking what your checking account balance is! :rotfl:

One of the nurses at my doctor's office is a longtime member. She's owned at OKW since just after they opened. 2 of her kids went onto become CM's - they both were tour guides on the Jungle Cruise. 1 of those kids settled down in Orlando, so now when they use their DVC points, it's usually to see the grandkids. I had a really nice time talking about DVC with her.

You can go to the OCC website and look up how many points they have. We know a family that is a DVC family (they have 10 kids, but he is a M.D.). They had over 1,500 points, but their kids are getting older now, so they have sold off almost 1,000 points.

Wow, that seems a bit stalkerish to me. I can't imagine looking up someone's ownership interest just to see how many points they own. Now I'm going to have to think twice before mentioning owning DVC to others... last thing I want them doing is looking up my info through the comptroller's office.

As for your "friend" the MD... how do you know that he didn't sell and then add-on at Aulani, HHI, GVC or VB? None of those would be registered with the OCC. Maybe that's the solution... just buy off-property and keep folks guessing. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'd love to meet some other DVCers. That's probably one reason I'm on these boards so much. I don't know anyone who even understands that there's a DVC. On occassion I meet someone who's been to WDW, but I can't even remember the last time I met anyone around here who'd been to WDW more than once.

Another teacher in my building is DVC at BWV. He was out sick last week, so I still haven't told him we were able to change our SSR trip next April to BLT/AKV. It's nice to have someone who understands! There is also another local family with a drama club kid who has points at VWL.
When the kids were little we went to Disney on Ice and were next to another DVC family. We hadn't had a DVC stay yet, so it was cool to talk to them.

I've been pleasantly surprised to find a co-worker in another department is a member, as well as the family of one of our students. I have Disney paraphernalia on my desk so I usually get asked about it, and I mention our ownership when asked.

My husband is in the same boat at his work. It's great to bounce vacation ideas off someone and get recommendations. :goodvibes

We were on a cruise to Norway this summer and shared a table at breakfast with another couple from the UK that are DVC owners, talk about a small world! lol

DH has the Disney people stickers on the back of our travel bus (GMC Yukon) and the DVC logo along with the old EPCOT Center stickers and other Disney stickers. He gets more every time we go just to change them out when they get faded.

I gotta’ tell ya'! There is no shortage of DVC member in our area. People are honking their horns at me all the time, pulling up next to me at stop lights and waving and asking where we own and such. I think there is a big following of DVC in NC and SC.

Call a realtor, move now! :lmao:

DH works with 2 other DVC folks and I work with about 10 DVC folks, that we know of so far, but we have only owned since February 2011. We find fellow DVC'ers where ever we seem to go!

I am still a bit leery of telling friends and family that we have a time share (just got it in January). First off, most of them think I am loopy for loving WDW the way I do :rotfl2: and secondly, I dont' want the "you bought a timeshare" look and speech...if they only knew. Course they would be the first ones to go free if I offered it to them :lmao:.

However, I just booked my 4th trip today and am grinning from ear to ear!!!:)
