It's a Jolly Holiday with LL. *FINISHED* Final Update on pg. 58.

...schedule, then you've better pack up your bag of tricks and be gone!" - The Sword in the Stone. Day 1, Part 2.

I hope you all know how much I love you and how dedicated I am to this TR. I am having severe computer angst tonight, almost finished my update and then lost it. :headache: Here we go again....

So DH informed me of more Squinty Lady reports. Apparently I was so blinded by my Disney goal that I didn't realize that she wasn't behind me when I got to the Magical Express check in desk. Apparently since she took a different way then us she didn't arrive to the ME desk until I was done and walking out of line. This amused DH greatly. I promised him I would include this little tidbit. So there you go.

Anyhoo....I beelined it to the check in desk at Pop while DH wrangled with our carry on luggage. I was the first one in line at Pop and don't really remember anyone behind me. This leads me to think our bus was making another stop at a different resort but who knows.

The nice lady at Check In told me our room was ready and pulled out the handy dandy Pop Map to show me our room.....

In the 50's section!! I was so excited, this is where I wanted to stay even though I didn't request it. I decided to go with the flow and I was rewarded with the fabulous 50's! Our room was very close to Classic Hall. Room 1222. Second Floor, King Size Bed. Sweet! The only thing we did not like about this room was the shower set up. The bathroom was set up as a handicap bathroom. Which was nice and roomy BUT the shower curtain was too short and since there was no shower/tub to gather the water, when we showered the floor was SOAKED. We went through so many towels and no matter what we tried to do, the floor was soaked after every shower.

Here's our room.

There was a mini fridge in that cabinet near the TV.
IMG_0358.jpg

After we checked out the room we were both starving so we headed over to Everything Pop for lunch. Before we had lunch I went to the Concierge Desk to get a print out of my ADR's. Famous. Last. Words. She handed me a print out of THREE ADR's! THREE! I started to freak. They had Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree Tavern and Kona Cafe on the list. No Cinderella's Royal Table! I almost had to be revived. I politely said to the nice CM that I had all of the confirmation numbers and could you please check again. It seems they had spelled my last name wrong when I made some of the ADR's. Phew. Crisis averted. I could eat lunch now.

Lunch was very good! I was pleasantly surprised. We both had Double Bacon Cheeseburgers with Fries, Soda and Tie Dyed Cheesecake.

IMG_0359.jpg

IMG_0360.jpg

Honestly, I was shocked at how good the burgers were. Usually when you get a burger at a fast food place like a food court, it's dry. Not these, so good and moist. The Tie Dyed Cheesecake was good but weird to eat, it looks like play-dough. DH enjoyed his burger as well. The fries were good too.

After we finished eating, we headed back to our room and I had a missed call from Crissy (If U Had Wings). We played phone tag for a bit and finally touched base. She was at Epcot as planned, so DH and I headed to the buses so we could catch up with her.

It had stopped raining by then, it was SO humid. Blech. I was really worried by the cloudy skies but Crissy had told me it had stopped raining at Epcot so we forged onward. We waited about 25 minutes for the Epcot Bus to come and then two power scooter things had to load. What a long annoying process! I understand that people need them but there has got to be a better way to get them to and from the park, like their own transportation! :thumbsup2 The bus was super crowded but we were able to get seats. While waiting for the bus we had tried to get an ADR for a World Showcase restaurant since it was rainy and it would kill some time before Illuminations. No luck, all they had was Les Chefs and Bistro de Paris. Seeing as we would have to pay out of pocked for this meal, those were a little pricey and we passed.

Finally the bus arrives at Epcot.....

Does the rain stay away?
What doesn't make it inside Epcot with us?
Do we snag a WS ADR?

Hurray for the 50's section!!! What a bummer about the shower though -- that would have driven me crazy!!!

 :scared1: I would have freaked, too! Glad they were able to fix it!

Food always tastes better at Disney! I love the tie dyed cheesecake!!!

Looking forward to more!

I was searching for a prize for being the first one to reply to my TP and I found this picture of a vintage Mary Poppins Pez Dispenser. I thought it was a good fit for Heidi! :goodvibes

Wow. That cheesecake looks so dang good.

I love me some tie dye cheesecake. Thank you to LL for the gratuitous food porn! :lmao:

Seems like you're off to a good start! :goodvibes

HURRAY for the firs food porn! And OH MY GOSH I would have flipped too if I got a list with only 3 ADR's!

Love the pictures of the room. I'm actually contemplating staying there for part of my solo trip next year. I was curious to see what the rooms looked like.

The tie dye cheesecake does look like play doh. Very wierd!

Thank you for my prize! She's lovely.

We had a King room with the accessible shower too when we stayed at POP. At first I didn't think I would like it but we got used to it. Plus you get a free fridge with one of those room so that made up for the wet bathroom floor.
I liked the POP food court better then the one at POFQ....never had the play'dough!

I gotta think there HAS to be something they could have done about the shower curtain problem?!?!?! If you ever get put in a situation like that, I would SO call down to Mousekeeping/Maintenance to have them fix it---how annoying!!!

Oh well---great room location though!! YEAH FOR YOU! Oooohhhhh.......you left us HANGING!!! I can't imagine what you might have had to leave outside of Epcot????? Can't wait for more!

SO STRANGE that they don't at least have a partial "lip" in the floor in the bathroom to catch some of the water and still allow handicapped access. Even if the curtain had been long enough, it still would've flooded.

Wet floors Drive. Tink. Crazy.

I hate the feeling on my feet.
Makes me think that I'm "dirtying" my feet after cleaning them.
And yes, I've already got a good therapist, thanks.

That tie-dyed cheesecake looks yummy! I never got to try it while I was there. Maybe next time.

Glad you got the area you want. Did you get to see the whole resort?

I just wanted to say that I am here and along for the ride. I can't wait to hear more, and see pictures! I saw on your first post that you said you took a lot of pics, good, I love seeing TR's with lots of photos!!

Thanks to everyone who left me Birthday wishes. It was probably the BEST Birthday I have ever had!

We had a great trip and I can't wait to start my Trip Report so I can share it with all of you. :grouphug: I thought of everyone often during my trip, I think it made me appreciate the friendships I have developed on the DISboards even more! I am hoping to start my TR tomorrow...that is if I can figure out a good title!! :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Welcome home!!! I missed seeing you around here!

WOO HOO! I have started the Trip Report.

It's a Jolly Holiday with LL.

Hope to "see" you all there! :goodvibes

Oh I am so there!:goodvibes

It's so nice that you got the section you wanted and your room was ready. I love when a trip stars off on the right foot :thumbsup2

We have a king room at CSR. I had asked DH how he would feel if we ended up with an accessible room and he said "what do I care". So I figured it wouldn't matter. Now I'm a little worried about the potential for a wet mess on the floor :scared:

Can't wait to hear more about EPCOT. That is our favourite park. Even with the kids, it's the park of choice.

The shower did drive me crazy, but what drove DH crazy is coming up in the next installment.

Wow. That cheesecake looks so dang good.

I love me some tie dye cheesecake. Thank you to LL for the gratuitous food porn! :lmao:

You are welcome for the food porn. DH really got into the food pictures all week too, he was very cute always thinking of the gals on the DISboards. :thumbsup2

I second what she said. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes
The cheesecake was good but I guess I couldn't get over the "look" of it. :rotfl:

HURRAY for the firs food porn! And OH MY GOSH I would have flipped too if I got a list with only 3 ADR's!
I am suprised I didn't faint and if I hadn't read about this happening to other DISer's then I probably would have. I am just glad the CM was able to find them all.

Love the pictures of the room. I'm actually contemplating staying there for part of my solo trip next year. I was curious to see what the rooms looked like.

The tie dye cheesecake does look like play doh. Very wierd!
I really liked the look of our room. It was quite comfy and I loved the 50's collage.

What can I say.....FABBY food porn, hope there's more to comepopcorn::
There is a lot more food porn to come, we only missed one of ADR's in regards to food porn. I was too cranky to take pictures. :rolleyes1

Yeah! for the fiftiies! Glad you tried the cheesecake!!
I'm glad I did too, I felt like it was the ultimate pop experience.

Thank you for my prize! She'd lovely.

You do get used to the shower, I just felt bad for mousekeeping but they must be used to it. The fridge was a very nice suprise.

We had to call down to Mousekeeping for another problem. ;)
Let's just say I was very upset about what was left outside of Epcot.

SO STRANGE that they don't at least have a partial "lip" in the floor in the bathroom to catch some of the water and still allow handicapped access. Even if the curtain had been long enough, it still would've flooded.

I totally get the dirty feet thing even though they are already wet from the same water. It drove me nuts the whole time we were there. DH kept making fun of me because I would lay towels down so my feet could walk across them to the carpet.
We got to see the 60's area but never ventured further over. The thought of walking more after a long day at the parks was not appealing at all. The only thing I regret is not getting a picture of Baloo at the Hippy Dippy Pool.

I just wanted to say that I am here and along for the ride. I can't wait to hear more, and see pictures! I saw on your first post that you said you took a lot of pics, good, I love seeing TR's with lots of photos!!
Thanks for joining. I took over 2,000 pictures. I don't think I will post them all but you will get a good sampling of them. I took some video too, I need to figure out how to upload it and you will get to see that too. :thumbsup2

It's so nice that you got the section you wanted and your room was ready. I love when a trip stars off on the right foot :thumbsup2

That's how I felt, that the trip started off on a great note.
You will be okay with the wet messy floor, just ask for some extra towels. We did that and it was manageable, just a little annoying.

Hopefully I will get the next installment up tonight but I am not 100% sure. I have to get my house organized a bit, it's still in post-vacation disarray and I have been battling photobucket with getting my photos in order so I might spend some time doing that instead so uploading photos to here will be easier on my brain, because let's face it folks, by the time I get home at night my brain is just about finished for the day. Anyhoo, if not tonight then I will get it done on Wednesday. :upsidedow

YAY!!! I am in!

Diagonal from us was the weirdest guy. Ever. First off, he's complaining to his wife about being squished. Dude, deal. DH and I were squished beyond belief but you grin and bear it, you know? He makes her get up, she's in the middle seat, get him something to use as a pillow and then complains because she is trampling over him. Sigh. People. So then as the plane takes off, he gets out Crest Whitening strips and puts them in. Does anyone else find this odd? Why would you do that in public? On a plane? Gross. So I had the joy of seeing him apply and remove them. Blech. Then the drink cart comes out, you know you move your leg when they get near. Not this guy. He tripped one of the flight attendants! Then they kept having to ask him to move his leg whenever they were near. I was flabbergasted. Then to top it all off. His head shaking. I have problems with my ears popping on the decent, I am sure I look funny as I try to get them to pop. This guy was going all out head banging away. I was worried he was going to get whiplash! DH and I had quite a few giggles about this guy on the way down. Kept our flight amusing.

First off... some people that take a trip believe that once they are on the flight they can do what they want, because they paid for the seat....This guy seems to be the king of that! The Crest strips part though was nasty and totally classless! There is one on every plane... Sometimes you get two...or three.... :goodvibes

Did you two tell him to "Rock on!"? :lmao:

We finally land and we are on our way...but not before the lady behind me slams my head with the overhead compartment. Ouch. Let me tell you, that really hurt. It brought tears to my eyes. I was standing in the aisle waiting to go out and she just opened it. THUD. Ow. I took some ibruprofen as soon as we got off the plane, I wasn't risking a headache from it. So we head to the Orlando Airport Monorail thing. I don't remember exactly where I am going but I know the vicinity. I hadn't done Magical Express before but last time I flew to Orlando, my transportation was right near there. So I am leading the way and squinty lady from Boston asks me where to go. I say, you get on the monorail thing and there will be signs. She doubts me. I said, well that's what I think and smile. She starts to be annoying and wondering out loud if I am right. Either take my advice or don't. She walks away muttering to herself about whether I am right. I hop on, DH follows, so does squinty lady and her brood. We get to the other side of the airport and head to Magical Express, all the way squinty lady and brood follow wondering if we are going the right way. I was so annoyed at this point, I don't tune out annoying people well.

Ouch!!! That stinks! I am sorry about the lady hitting you in the head with the compartment door.

And Squinty lady sounds like quite the lady....

Here's our room.

mmmm.... I love a good cheeseburger!

The tie dyed cheesecake does look like playdough... but the yummy kind you can make in your kitchen and eat!

- Winnie the Pooh. Day 1. Part 3.

*This is an extra long installment. I was going to divide this into at least two more parts but since I was able to type it all out at work since I was covering for the receptionist, who has no internet access....I decided to finish out our first day.

When the bus arrived in Epcot, it was pouring rain. When I say pouring rain, I mean buckets of rain were falling from the sky. In what will become one of many LL Hissy Fits during this trip, I refused to move from the bus stop cover and wanted to wait out the rain. Let me say in my defense, that the LL Hissy Fits were short in length and gotten over fairly quickly, nor did I make a scene in public. I simply told DH that I wasn't putting my poncho on yet though I did get the Target $.99 cent ponchos out of Vera. DH tried to argue with me to put the ponchos on and just get moving, I refused. The rain lightened up in about 5 minutes time, if that. It was just misting for a bit and then it stopped. Crisis averted.

We start to head in. DH has been given the task of holding onto our Park Tickets. I head into the bag security check line and I tell DH I will meet him inside. Meaning, inside between the bag line and the Epcot turnstiles. DH interprets that as inside the park. Dude, you have my ticket. Luckily the line was on the longish side so I was able to find him before he went through the turnstile. Men, I tell you.

As we are standing in line, I reach into my bag. I can't remember why but I think it's to get the cell phone as Crissy and I were still playing phone tag. I think we finally get in touch while I am line as well, Crissy was waiting for us in front of Spaceship Earth. Granted this is over probably a 4 minute time span, the line wasn't that long. I have written in my TR journal, "Slowest ticket line ever" so there you go. Wow, I digress. The whole point of this is my bag. I reach into Vera and what do I see? *Wipes tear from cheek* I see that my LGMH tag that I so lovingly made is missing. *Sob* The only thing left is the pretty purple ribbon. I know I saw the LGMH tag on the bus to Epcot so somewhere between the bus and the turnstile line my beloved LGMH tag went missing. I will mourn thee. I was so bummed that I didn't even get inside the park before it fell off. *Mourn Mourn Mourn*

We finally get inside after going through the slowest ticket line ever and walk to meet Crissy. She's right there in front of Spaceship Earth with her lime green baggalinni! I was so excited. I was meeting one of my lapulapuettes! She was as sweet in person as she is on the DISboards. We chatted a bit, I pointed out my missing LGMH, *Mourn* and decided to catch a ride on Spaceship Earth. I gave DH Vera since he's be riding solo and we hopped in line. We literally waited moments, I don't even think it qualifies as a minute. It was pretty much just a walk up to the loading area. I enjoyed the updates but I don't really remember much about my last ride three years ago, just that it's a bit different. Crissy and I loved the styling woman in the space age scene with the lovely plaid skirt and yellow tights and her AWESOME black go go boots. I didn't get a picture at this point since I hadn't taken out my camera yet but I will include one from a later ride in a later installment. I also really enjoyed the future part. Lots of fun.

After Spaceship Earth, Crissy had to get going so we took a picture of us. Yay! Please disregard my ugly hair. As noted earlier in the day, I was having issues with my bangs so decided to solve it. So not solved. I hate my hair this day, it was a recurring theme during our trip.

IMG_0362.jpg

Crissy also was very thoughtful and purchased me a princess notebook which I plan to use on our next trip for my Trip Journal as I had already started using my Tink "Are you Dustworthy?" notebook for this one. I didn't notice this at the time but she also put a nice card in there and a liberty mickey ornament. So cute. Thank you so much Crissy! I made sure that Crissy didn't need me to get the Special Events CD like we had discussed but she had been able to pick it up earlier in the week and then we parted ways. So short yet so nice to meet one of the lapulapuettes.

After parting ways with Crissy, DH and I headed deeper inside Epcot. First stop was Club Cool.

IMG_0364.jpg

I was so excited to get pictures of us trying the sodas and told DH my plan to get pictures. Little did he know that I had a grand scheme in my head. The scheme was to get DH's true reaction to Beverly. Muhahahahaha! I convinced him to try Beverly first. Sad. I so did not get the reaction I was looking for, as evidenced here.

IMG_0369.jpg

I tried the Watermelon kind first, I think from China. It was a little too fruity for me. After I told DH that I had the evil plan to get a picture of him trying the gross Beverly. He then made me try it, as evidenced here.

IMG_0372.jpg

Holy Grossness! DH said that my reaction got even better after the first picture but he wasn't quick enough with the camera. Oh, isn't that terrible? ;)

IMG_0375.jpg

IMG_0377.jpg

This is the first picture of MANY light fixture pictures. For some reason I was amazed at how many different light fixtures and sconces and the like they are able to get into the parks. Simply amazing. By the end of the week, it became a running joke with DH and I.

IMG_0363.jpg

IMG_0367.jpg

After Club Cool we headed to The Sea's with Nemo and Friends. DH was cracked up by the Mine, Mine, Mine seagulls. As was I, let's be honest here.

IMG_0384.jpg

IMG_0385.jpg

There was a 10 minute wait posted but that was so deceiving. THERE WAS NO WAIT. Yahoo! That queue is long though. Really long, especially when you are walking the whole thing non stop. I also didn't get to really enjoy the queue. Sad. We ended up sitting in our clam mobiles. DH had been very concerned before our trip about not fitting into the ride cars, so I am going to include our reviews of the rides and our comfort level and such. Since there was no one really waiting, we didn't feel too badly about taking up two cars. I think we could have squeezed in together. I remember that the clam mobiles were kinda shallow if that makes sense, not very deep but they would have been wide enough for both of us I think. Overall, we thought the ride was cute. We both agreed that if we had waited a lengthy time for this ride we wouldn't have been very happy.
Here is the one picture that came out somewhat okay from Nemo.

IMG_0389.jpg

We explored the area a bit after riding.

IMG_0395.jpg

We were going to stay for Turtle Talk but for some reason we decided to head out again. Weird, I know. It was raining again, so I had to put my camera away. Boo. It was just sprinkling so we trekked over to The Land. The handy Times board told us that all of the Soarin' fastpasses were gone but we still went inside to see what was going on. The wait for Soarin was 70 minutes, no thank you. We'd come back to that later in the week. We walked on Living with The Land. Why oh why do they have fastpasses for that ride? Why? What is the reason? They have fastpasses for Living with The Land but not POTC? Nuts. Rant over. We both really liked the ride, it's very peaceful. We had a bench to ourselves and we could have fit one more person very comfortably if not two more. I love seeing all the vegetation and would like to do the Behind the Seeds tour someday.

IMG_0399.jpg

IMG_0411.jpg

IMG_0417.jpg

IMG_0420.jpg

IMG_0423.jpg

At this point, I was feeling a hotspot on my foot. Not good. Stupid sneakers. So I stopped on one of the benches in The Land and took out the bazillion bandaids I packed. Ha! DH didn't think I would need them but I did. Go LL. It was like heaven once I got that bandaid on and I was good to keep on trucking. Once we got to the doors, we realized it was pouring. Again. At this point I was in a groove so I hauled out the ponchos and we suited up. Those ponchos were very convenient let me tell you. I just have no idea why I had such a hissy about them when we got to the park.

We walked on Journey into Imagination with Figment. Absolutely no wait, the building almost looked deserted when we got in there and wondered if it was even open. The front of the cars looked roomier so we both sat up there. Very comfy for the two of us. The ride was meh. I remember it being completely different when I was younger and I am pretty sure they have updated it but it's just plain silly now. Not cute and fun like it used to be. The skunk smell is just horrific! On the other hand the shop they dump you into after the ride is so awesome! If we didn't look like drowned rats, I may have tried talking DH into getting our pictures on one of those cool posters. I think if you like pictures and neat photo souvies, you should really check it out.
Pictures of DH "conducting" Figment.

IMG_0427.jpg

We walked over to Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and were the last two people let into the holding area. The CM made everyone else behind us wait. Once we got inside, the seats were very comfortable and the auditorium wasn't crowded at all. In fact I think we had our own row. I have fond memories of this show, like the first time I saw it and my mother literally jumped out of her seat since she thought they let real mice out. Still cracks me up just thinking about it. Anyhoo, both DH and I remembered the show to be longer and we both think the show is showing it's age. Which is sad, I think it would be great if they could update it with newer 3D technology but still keep the same type of show.

Outside....it was raining...again. Activate Ponchos! I was getting really worried that this was going to be our whole week. I started to freak a bit that I wouldn't get the bazillion pictures that I wanted to take. There was a little boy on the skipping fountains outside and he was getting squirted right in the face, it was really amusing and everyone was stopping to watch him. Hehe. We walked more towards the center of Epcot and hung out under a building over hang for about 15 minutes to decide our next move. I also called Disney Dining again to see if there were any other TS location available in WS. There wasn't. We decided that instead of staying and waiting for Illuminations that we are going to head back to Pop. I don't have the time written down, but I think this was around 6:30ish? I may be wrong but I think that's when it was and I believe we got to Epcot around 3:30/4ish.

We walked through Mousegears, oh how I love everyday objects that have been Disneyfied! Just glorious. We didn't end up buying anything....yet. On the way out, we took some photopass photos with our ponchos on. They came out very cute! I ordered our photopass cd yesterday so once it comes, I will share the pictures with you. We were the last two people let onto the Pop bus.

Continued in next post.
