itouch question

Hi! I have a quick question for any itouch users out there! I know that you can get online using your itouch wherever there is wireless capabilities (my house, or starbucks, panera, etc). Can you get to facebook using it? I know, very dumb question....and I'm assuming the answer is yes....but you know what they say about assuming! We are thinkng about getting one for my mom (she loves her ipod, but its not working anymore) and she also loves facebook so I thought I'd check and see if she could get on FB with it before getting the itouch.

YES! I love my Itouch and it has a Facebook app! I am a bit tech addicted and I can't live without internet access so the touch is great without having to have a data plan on my phone.

for the itouch? Can you get to disboards? So can you only get to certain websites that have an "app for that?"

Can you send e-mail?

There is an app for Facebook and it's free. You can get to just about any website using Safari, that's included on the Touch (it's the web browser).
You can get to Facebook thru Safari, but the app just makes the interface more user friendly.

I see you've already gotten your answers.. but just have to chime in.. I love my Touch also.. use it daily to get to facebook, check e-mail, etc, etc.. can get to any web page out there..

Only thing I wish they would come out with is an app to run a flash player... can't open most "game-type" sites, like pogo, etc.. cause those need a flash player to play. If it had that, I'd never need my desktop computer, lol.

Thanks for all the replies! You were all so helpful! I am def going to get one for my mom, but now I'm thinking I might need one too! I don't need a new phone, but would love to be able to check emails and fb too while I'm out and about!

Has anyone ever gotten a refurbished one from the apple website? I've gotten a refurb nano from there, and it was fantastic! I don't know of a reason that I should buy new, unless anyone knows differently!

I got my ipod touch from the Apple store, it is refurbished! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

I do everything on it. And it is amazing how many place have free wifi

I also have checked in for Southwest flight on it!

I check everywhere for free wifi because you never know where you'll find it. There's even a car wash in our little podunk town that has free wifi.

so i assume no where on WDW property can you use this correct? Or the hotels. I would love to do SW checkin from the parks on our day instead of guest services, but because no Wi Fi, i guess not

I had a DirecTV installer tell me he can make phone calls from his iTouch using an app as long as he has a WiFi signal. Anyone else do that? I'd love to get an iTouch - it will be my next semi-major purchase, I think. Darn that new HDTV and Bluray system, lol.

I think that you can do the phone calls via wifi if you have the SKYPE app, but I'm not positive.

This might not help, but if you can get to a McDonalds they have Wi Fi. Not certain if the one in DTD has it though. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

just got it today and i have been saving apps in my itunes store. but now i cannot get them onto my touch? I went to the device, and selected the apps then i selected the ones i wanted on the touch. when i sync them they disappear and don't show in the itunes selection even when i unplug. any one help me out
