Sea World
After a good rest and a nice breakfast of toast and orange juice and the kids having watched Mickey Mouse Club House on loop we were up and raring to go for the day. We had already bough the 3 for 2 Sea World tickets from ATD before leaving the UK and they were valid for 14 days, we were planning on starting them on the first day and then leaving our Disney tickets until the 7th or 8th day to start so that they lapped over inbetween.
Anywho.....
We found our way to Sea World pretty easily and the kids had a picture with Shamu - 1st time I have ever had a pic with him in our woolies!
We were dying to get on Manta but there were two staff members there telling people that the coaster was closed because it was too cold to run it.
So we headed off to see the Dolphins and Sea Turtles - only to be told that it was also too cold for the Sea Turtles to be out.......... great day this was shaping up to be huh! Oh well the manatees and baby dolphins were out at least!
We went to watch the Pets Ahoy show, which is always fun and the kids really enjoy it. plus it's a nice warm theatre that they do it in so it was a must for today as I think it was something like 2 degrees outside.
It was now around lunchtime and we were feeling a bit peckish so we stopped by the Spice Mill and we all had a grilled chicken sandwich platter which was very nice.
After lunch we went to see if the Wild Arctic was open, it wasn't because they were making the switch over from Polar Express to the original, it was nearly time for the Believe show so we went to that and froze to death in the stadium! It was so cold!!
Here I am by the Shamu Beetle just by Shamu's Happy Harbour
We then went over to Shamu's Happy Harbour and the kids, DH and Terry went through the net climb, Lou and I had a sit down with a hot chocolate, by this time the sun was out and even though it was still freezing but if you were in the full sun it was lovely!
Evenutually everyone came back and we went on the kiddies rides, I always quite like these! The kids were happy apart from Harley was about an inch smaller than the height restriction for the Shamu Express and he was upset that he couldn't go on it - it's a bit odd because it's very similar to the Barnstormer at MK and that only has 36" but Shamu is 38"
Harley loves Dolphins or Dolphy as he calls them so we went to see the Blue Horizons show, it was fantastic as usuall and there was much chatter about how cold the water must be etc etc! Harley loved every minute of it and I must admit that watching his face made my eyes leak slightly, although wearing my sunglasses I don't think anyone noticed!
It was getting quite late by now and the park was closing at 6pm, we decided to see if Manta was running and yay it was
so Terry and I waited in line while Lou and DH waited with the kids, I was quite impressed by the queing area, there were fish tanks and underwater viewing for rays and other fish.
The ride was 100 times better than I thought, I think the frozen face tingle added to the effect quite well
We got a child swap pass and went on again with DH. The one thing that I don't like about the SW oarks is the way that they sort the lines for the big rides, at Disney they always direct you to your seat, at SW it's a case of just sorting it out yourself, so there are always a lot of single seats left, if there were single rider lines with a CM helping the line would move a lot quicker I think.
The line for Kraken was only 10 minutes so we did that one too, had a quick look around the shop at the exit and then decided to leave the park. It was quite dark by now and we were all hungry. The kids were tired so we gave them their sandwiches that we had left in the car (no danger of them going off in the heat this time! ) and decided that we fancied Chilis for tea!
By the time we got to Chilis on the 192 the kids were snoring away and we plopped them in their buggies and put their blankets over them, and had a nice peaceful dinner. I had Honey Chipotle Crispers, DH and Terry had a Cajun Steak and Lou had Tacos. It was all lovely but we couldn't manage pudding!
We headed back to the villa and I was in bed by 9.30. DH stayed up to check the emails from work as we were still kind of on call for MIL who was covering the shop for us.
Tomorrow it's Busch Gardens ...... my favourite!!
