Hello all! I am 29 and taking my parents (53 & 51) for their first ever Disney trip to WDW end of June. It's my 4th trip but first time to stay on property and not be following a schedule of a school chaperoned event. I went once as a high school student with the band and then twice as a chaperone on those trips. (I teach at the high school I graduated from)

I am going to list my plans and would GREATLY appreciate suggestions, ideas, comments, etc. We will be staying at Pop, have 4 day park hopper passes and the Dining Plan with 1 QS, 1 TS and 1 Snack.

Day 1: Check in to Pop, Dinner at Trails End (7:15), watch Water Pageant
Day 2: MK FP+ for Space, Seven Dwarfs & Peter Pan, Dinner reservations at Liberty Tree
Day 3: Epcot FP+ for Spaceship Earth, Nemo & Soarin, Dinner reservations at Biergarten
Day 4: AK FP+ for Safari, Everest, Dinosaur, no dinner reservations
Day 5: Late day at Hollywood (get there around Lunch) FP+ for Movie ride, ToT and Fantasmic, Dinner reservations for Hollywood & Vine
Day 6: Check out of resort begin travel home

do you think your parents would enjoy space, everest, and TOT?? what are the plans after check-in? if y'all are breakfast people, Pop has a good food court and breakfast. maybe the night w/no dinner reservations y'all could have dinner at downtown disney; wolfgang puck marketplace is really good.

The only thing I see is you have park hopper tickets, but you're not hopping. Can you still take it off without a penalty?

@disney queen----when we talked about rides they seemed up for tot, space and Everest. We can always change fast passes if they change their minds.

@dharonabe----we will be hopping, we just aren't sure when. We thought it was a good option in case someone says "this park is boring let's try a different one" or "let's go back and ride and see something again"

Thanks for the tips those are helpful things to plan for!

I'm glad to see that your parents want to go on ToT etc. I'm almost 55 and I love them!:cool2:

What are your dates? Also, did you know that you can add park hoppers on at any point during your trip? That way if you don't use them, you aren't wasting money. Boma at AKL would be a fantastic restaurant to visit on your AK day. Just my opinion, but I'd get a FP for Test Track instead of Nemo, lol. Liberty Tree and Biergarten are great choices! 2 of our favorites. Other favorites would be the HDDR dinner show, Boma, Ohana, Mama Melrose. Flame Tree BBQ at AK is awesome for a CS meal. Pop Century is our favorite value resort! You're going to have a great trip!!

She can't get a fastpass for Test track because she has one for Soarin - they are both tier 1.

Looks good to me, are one of your ADR's 2 table credits or are you not using one. That's the only thing that sticks out to me, I wouldn't want to waste a table service credit.

@mcneil---we talked about all the rides before doing the FPs. They heb both ridden more extreme roller coasters with me growin up and I told them that the disney one (with the exception of Aerosmith) are nothing like what we have been on. I explained that disney rides are more tame than six flags!

@westonkamom--very end of June is when will be there. Most of the rides I have fast passed are ones I haven't even made it to. If I could do soaring and test track I would. But from what I hear it might be possible to get more FPs at the park?? Not sure. I'm glad to hear tht pop is a good place. I was worried I would be someplace dumpy but then I figured disney could afford that kind of negativity.

@joy---I just haven't booked the other ADR for table service. Not sure what we want to do the evening of AK. We might hop back to a park or got to DtD or maybe another resort so we have some more planning to do there.

Y'all are awesome! Thanks for catching this stuff and suggestions!!!

Just wanted to say thanks again for everyone's help. I just used my last TS credit to book us a reservation at Boma because of yalls recommendations!

Book the Fantasmic dinner package if you can. We did MM and it was great and the seating is great as well.

Well all was happy go lucky and today I had a little speed bump which leads to some questions for yall. I booked through AAA, received confirmation email and linked it to MDE, did FP+, customized magic bands, all that stuff. MB customizing closes tomorrow and then I was prepared to stare at the mailbox in anticipation until they arrived. Welllll...today our travel documents were ready with the AAA Travel Agent so my mom picked them up. She told me we would pick up our Magic Bands at the hotel when we checked in. I immediately had a sad face. Does anyone know if that means mine will still be customized bands? Why did I waste that time and energy to just get BLAH gray bands? I might pop over to the disney site and ask their chat helpers and see, but thought you travelers might have some info as well.

I wouldn't worry about fast rides at Disney with your parents unless they just do not like them. I am 49 yo and I believe I will be riding thrill rides for many years. The only difference now is I cant do them over and over and over like when I was in my teens.
Unless one of your parents has a not mentioned health issue you can do lots at the park. Once again I can keep up with my teen daughters.
