We're going to be at DL/DCA from June 22-24 (Wed-Fri). All are blocked AP days (except the highest level of AP) and pretty muchthe last blocked days before summer season hits.

I'm concerned about how to handle late nights and Morning Magic hour. Getting to security at or before 6:30 a.m. is daunting.

Wed, 6/22: arrive for RD at DL - pretty much stay through til 3-4... a 3/4 type day. Use morning FPs before we leave in afternoon. Go to eat, then rest at hotel (Hojo's FWIW)

Thurs, 6/23: MM at DL - hit Fantasyland etc. go to DCA at that RD. Take a substantial mid day break. Return around dinner time and go to see Fantasmic or fireworks

Fri, 6/24: RD at DL, then RD DCA? mid day break return at dinner and see Fantasmic or fireworks

I'm really leaning towards skipping WOC. We can't handle 3 late nights and that early morning. And I feel like fireworks would have more of an impact on us than WOC.

When do you know if fireworks are cancelled due to winds etc? do you have time to get to Fantasmic or anything?

If you're leaning toward skippin WOC, then you wouldn't need to be at rope drop for DCA either day.

Instead stay at DL long enough to pick up 2-4 FPs EACH day....then hop to DCA (each day).

Not sure why you want to do 8 straight hours in DL the first day then rest/eat etc. & not go back. Why not take a break at 1-2pm (after stepping into DCA for an hour or two) & then return to DLR from 4 or 5pm till 8 or 9pm? (maybe eating in DTD before the dinner crush prior to your return to DL)

The "spend 8 hours at a park & retire back to the resort for the rest of the day" is more of a WDW mindset because 1) The resort is nifty & 2) It's a pain to return via buses to the parks. At DLR, it's a 9 min. stroll. :thumbsup2

You got me. lol My only Disney experience is WDW so we did several of the 3/4 type days. I guess my thinking was that I'd want my kids in bed by 9 because we'll be leaving thehotel just after 6:00 to get to the MM the next day. We could probably still stay til 8 tho if we had a break.

And the RD at DCA was for TSMM and for Ariel.

This makes very much sense to me. Your plan sounds good and it's backed up with good reasoning. I assume that you will want to do the first Fantasmic show because the second might be too late for the kids. But if I'm wrong, you could do WoC and Fantasmic in the same night (first WoC and second F!).

You don't find out if the fireworks will be cancelled until right up to show time because they will wait until the last minute before cancelling it. Assuming that the current entertainment schedule persists (because it's relatively new), fireworks are at 8:45 and F! is at 9:05 and 10:15. So if the fireworks were cancelled, you would have time to get over to F! but I guarantee you wouldn't get a great viewing spot because people watch the fireworks from their F! spot.

hmmm, I hadn't researched enough to think of hitting two shows in one night. That's a lot of waiting around for shows in one night tho. Something to think about.

I think they could handle the second show of Fantasmic, actually. They are 9 and 11, so they don't have to be in bed super early every night. I just knew that asking them to wake up easily at 5:30 the next morning meant an earlier bed time. lol For my DH and myself as well!

Thanks for the input!
