how do these plans look for our 10 day trip? Considering today the high hit 98.4 and with humidity felt like it was over 110F... our main goal for safety reasons (due to health reasons) is to avoid the worst of the heat (or if we're out in it, to take it easy).

Day 1: Rest day. Head into Epcot for the evening, 5-9. Plan is to Meet Pluto, pick up a DAS return time for Test Track, then take the Friendship boats to Italy. We'll tour Japan, do Pick a Pearl, hopefully catch Matsuriza and then walk back towards Mexico, strolling the countries. DS especially wants to see China, so hoping to catch the 7:30 Acrobats show. Do Test Track and then the Epcot Character Meet n Greet. Japan and China are the only two countries we plan on spending any real amount of time in, so does this look doable time-wise?

Day 2: Magic Kingdom. Head into MK for a few hours (11-2, we have FP+ for Jungle Cruise, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Magic Carpets and plan on exploring Tom Sawyers Island). Take the boat to Fort Wilderness to see the 4:00 show of HDDR. Will likely go back to MK after the show (planning on being back in the park by 7:00) and stay for another 2-3 hours for some more rides (likely the attractions at the front of Tomorrowland). Hoping to pick up 4th + 5th FP+, but also have our DAS card to use. I'm not sure if we could change our FP+ this late, but if we could... I'm wondering if we should skip going to MK before the show, and instead just concentrate on touring after the show? Maybe stay in park until midnight? My only concern is we're planning RD at AK the next day, so not sure that would work well with the children?

Day 3: Animal Kingdom. RD until 1ish. Tour Oasis, meet Daisy, tour Pangani and then have a FP+ for Safari. See Lion King after (11:00 show, FP+). Plan on having lunch at Harambe, watching the Tam Tam Drummers. Do Maharajah Trails and then finish up on Kali (FP+).

Day 4: Hollywood Studios. I'm taking the kids in at RD to sign up for JTA evening show, then going home. We'll head into HS for 4. Plan on Magic of Disney Animation, Indiana Jones, Star Tours, Frozen show, JTA, TSMM (FP+), and F! At 9:00.

Day 5: Rest Day - We could always take Day 3 as our rest day if we decided to just do MK after HDDR. Then we could do AK this day, as it's a recommended park for this day.

Day 6: Blizzard Beach Day

Day 7: Magic Kingdom, (2-10). Meet Tinker Bell (FP+), sneak over to Splash and get a return time with DAS, watch FoF from Frontierland. Ride Splash, maybe meet Jesse & Woody. Enchanted tales with Belle (FP+), Mad Tea Party? BBB at 5:00. Prince Charming Carosel? Meet A&E (FP+), dinner at CRT at 6:50. Peter Pan's Flight (FP+). Watch MSEP and Wishes.

Day 8: Magic Kingdom. (5-9?10?) Watch Dream Along with Mickey (5:15). Haunted Mansion (FP+), Small World (get a DAS return time if long wait), Philharmagic, 7D ( FP+), Adventures of Pooh (FP+), Riverboat Cruise, Jungle Cruise, Pirate Adventure as long as they want, then take the train around the park before we leave.

Day 9: Animal Kingdom (RD - 12?). 8:45 breakfast at TH. Head over to Conservation Station, likely spend most of the morning there. Flights of Wonder 11:45, Safari. From there may or may not do any of the DinoLand stuff, ITTBAB etc...

Day 10: Rest day, packing, getting ready to go home.

For your day 2, since you have kids, I wouldn't stay late and then do rope drop in the am. Not enough sleep will lead to meltdowns. I would go to MK earlier, before HDDR and see how you feel after the show, and you could go back for a couple hours, maybe, more important to make sure you get enough rest, I'd leave earlier than midnight, for sure. I wouldn't stay past 9pm.

I guess Mods are moving these type of posts to the Trip Reports forum, might be why it didn't get a big response.

I don't know how old your kids are/what their health issues are. Since our trips usually are planned to maximize park time, it is difficult to comment. You've got a lot of partial days, and with FP+ you can get your rides in, so it looks like your plan is definitely do-able.

I did find it kind of funny when you say the main goal is to avoid the heat, then on Day 2, you're at MK from 11am-2pm. It also doesn't make sense to me that you have all these rest periods planned, but then considering staying out until midnight, with a rope drop the next day.

Day 4 is weird, driving in just to sign up for JTA. I would do a couple of rides while there in morning. You have a lot planned for the afternoon, the shows take up time.

Day 7 you have four FP+ listed. Getting additional FP is definitely possible at MK, but it depend on crowds, what time you're going to kiosks to get additional FP, what's available.

Looks good. As a general rule, we only go to a theme park at opening rope drop. We never sleep in then go. If we're going to want to sleep in, then that day is for rest.

That's why I asked about switching our rest day and AK day, if that might be a better idea ;) As for the reason we're going in from 11 to 2, is because we're off-site. It is a waste of time to try and go in for RD to noon, drive 25 minutes back to our rental house, only to have to turn around and drive back an hour or so later to get to HDDR. Likewise, I think that trying to be in the heat from 9-2 and then head to HDDR will be too much. And it really doesn't seem as though there's much difference in temperature between 9 & 11. I know it will be hot whenever we go, so our main goal is to keep our time in the heat as short as possible.

I was trying to allow DH and others to sleep in. But it's a good point, that likely the kids will never want to leave without doing a couple/few things, so might just as well spend a couple hours, go back to the house, then come back in the evening.

Were using split FP+ (party of 6), so that's what we currently have booked.
