Hi!

Just returned last night and wondering if anyone has ever encountered this situation. My daughter slept with a medium size Flounder stuffed animal pushed down into her bed at Pop Century. (She says he needs to be under water!:)

Well, one morning he was left in the bed, and when we returned to the room later he was gone. I'm assuming he got tangeled up in the sheets, although I didn't think they changed them every day? I made some calls, and they put me through to someone who took all the information and said they would contact me in 7 - 10 days if he was located in the laundry.

Has this happened to anyone else - lost something that was in the sheets? I'm hoping they find him, she is very sad. I'm thinking if they don't find him, shouldn't they be responsible for replacing him? Since it is a Disney item, they should be able to replace it easily. He was several years old and we have a picture of her holding him in the room!

Thanks!

My daughter's flowered pillowcase (and pillow) were changed with the sheets one evening at YC last Christmas. We put in a claim with the laundry and receive the pillowcase and a new pillow in the mail a couple weeks later.

This actually happened in Vermont, it was so heart breaking for my then five year old. My daughter left her special baby blanket, aka "bunny" on the unmade bed in the hotel room. After a day of skiing we came back to the room and of course she started searching for her "bunny" but it was gone with the laundry. We went to the front desk to try and find it, but they had sent out the laundry to NH (a whole different state). The next day we listened to her wimpering all the way home for a three hour drive, the kind of cry that just tears at your heart strings. I still feel bad about it and it's been seven years. ;)

One of my most traumatic Disney memories is losing my favorite stuffed otter (yes, otter :p ) in the sheets when I was about 8-9. He was never found, but I remember the incident to this very day!

Disney is VERY good at replacing anything that was damaged or accidentely taken by housekeeping. I had a satin robe hanging in our bathroom on our last trip in October. Apparently, part of the belt was laying on the floor and got caught up in the vacuum. When we returned to our room we had a message from housekeeping. She let us know that they could either fix it (if it was fixable) or replace it. It really wasn't that bad, there was about an inch and a half that had been singed. I told her I wasn't upset and asked if their seamstress could just cut that off off and sew it back up. They came up within minutes, took it down and had it back within 2 hours. They also brought a box of Ghiradelli chocolate to apologize. Like I said, disney is very good at taking care of such things! I am sure if the item is not found, they will replace it. Best of luck!

This same thing happened to my daughter a few years ago at the Contemporary. He beloved "pillow" was lost. My advice is to call lost & found EVERY DAY. This is what she did - she went to the front desk every day we were there & then made the call daily also.

I was in contact with Judy & then about a week after we returned home she called to say that she had located "pillow". They mailed it back to us. My daughter still sleeps with that pillow (she is 15!!! :D ).

Don't give up on Flounder. He may still be found. ::yes::

We went through the same thing with a stuffed Mickey Mouse that was "supposedly" left on the bed. Found it in the suitcase when we went to pack to go home. ::MickeyMo

My DD's bathing suit was left in the tub and got picked up with the towels. They returned it to us right away. I'm very careful about what I leave on the beds or lying on the floor now.

When we stayed at the Poly in 1997 I had left some of my money in a wallet, wrapped up in an article of clothing, and buried under other clothing in one of the armoir drawers and it was stolen. It was a little over $100. I was young, I guess I didn't realize that there are 'mean and untrustworthy' people out there-I think I still have a problem with that. We reported it to the front desk, but they said it was esentially our fault for leaving it there. I don't recall there being a safe, but there must have been, right? It stinks when stuff like that happens, at least it sounds like most peoples' experiences have been accidental.
