In December we stopped at the Italian Pavilion to sample the Rosa Regale. After reading such good reviews on the DisBoards, I had to try it. Well, a few days after returning home I bought a bottle. Thanks for the advice. It is now one of my favorites (with and without chocolate).

I purchased some for NYE my DM polished off most of the bottle. She fell asleep in my bed so DH had to sleep with DS6. I go to sleep with the lush. :rotfl2:

It is my favorite! Sometimes BJ's carries it, as well as World Market, and the ABC Liquor at Lake Buena Vista probably still has it as well.

We tried it too after hearing about it here on the boards and you are all correct!

It was a delicious way to open the New Year! :cool1:

I love it too- I was in Tampa last weekend and walked into a wine store and found it for $20.00 so we bought a bottle. Then we had dinner at Charlies steak house and lo and behold they had 1/2 bottles for $26.00 with your dinner. (we didnt bite there).

We love it, too. Couldn't find any locally so I asked at a Harris Teeter if they'd order it for me. Bought 4 bottles since they were doing a special order for me, and I/m very glad I did - it was on sale for $18 each. Used one at Christmas, one New Year's eve and have two left - maybe Valentine's day (speaking of chocolate) :rose: and my birthday. Since then, I've found it at World Market, too. Glad the alcohol % is lower than regular wines - this is much too tasty to stop at one glass! :rotfl2: :rotfl: ::yes::

BJ's had it for $16.99 - not sure if it's seasonal, but it seems to sell out quick when they've had it! $18.99 I think at World Market, $20 at ABC.

My wife and I were in the world back in September/October and we tried a glass during the food and wine festivle and LOVED IT. That is alot coming from me since I am not a wine lover. In fact we liked it so well that we went straight to the wine store and purchased a bottle. We have since purchased some at home here in PA at the state store about 19.99 a bottle. On a side note I attended the Sam Adams seminar thing there and tried their Sam Adams Light and really liked it alot. It has a full taste but it does not "fill you up".

Can you get it in Italy by the glass? or just by the bottle? all year long or just F&WF?

I got a glass of it at le Cellier in June. We also ordered a few bottles from our local wine shoppe in PA.

You can get a glass of Rosa Regale at the Italian Pavilion all year long.

You can buy it by the glass or by the bottle at Italy all year. Unfortunatly in Jacksonville, FL I am stuck buying it at World Market and its $19.99 there. So I am so jealous of those that are able to get it cheaper. Cause I have searched and searched Costco, BJ, Sam's in hopes of finding it and no luck.

Is it a red wine or a blush? So many people seem to love it and I'd like to try it but I'm not a Merlot red wine fan.

I must be the only one who didn't like it. It is very sweet and tasted like carbonated cherry Nyquil to me, I actually threw some of it away. But I don't care for sweet wine at all, I guess I didn't think it would be when I bought it. Why I thought that, I have no idea. :confused3 That's okay, the more for you guys who do love it!

This is interesting!
I never heard of this wine here in Italy, so I googled it... it is a Brachetto d'Aqui but it is not sold in Italy with that name. There seems to be a Brachetto produced by "Vigne Regali", Piedmont branch of the Tuscany Banfi (one of the best Brunello producers) and a Brachetto vigneto la Rosa, of vini Banfi... I wonder which one is the "Italian" version of the export one they sell in Epcot.

Anyway, if you liked this Rosa Regale, you could also try looking for different brands of Brachetto. It's a popular wine, and I am sure there must be various producers selling it in the States!

I would say it's more of a blush. It's a very sweet sparkling red wine. In a previous thread from several months ago someone mentioned that Trader Joe's has a version of it that is very comparable in price/flavor...but for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it. I tried to do a search and still couldn't find it. Can anyone help?
