Italy in Pictures - Lake Garda 1

Our journey through Italy continues, today brings us to Lago di Garda or Lake Garda, which is Italy's largest lake. It was a beautiful sunny day, some of us even got slightly sunburned. There are many pictures, so I am breaking this up into two posts. I am starting with the two hour boat ride to the western side.

I have to start with the swan's, there were so many of them today and they were so pretty. I just couldn't resist a picture or two. I was suprised to see a swan on land and also suprised to see how large they actually are.

Bardolino again. All of the white "tents" house an open-air market, which was extremely large, I believe a return trip to check out the market is in order.

Even though it was a nice day, it was a little hazy.

After lunch we took a tour of the botanical gardens.

I will start a new thread with the rest of the pictures, including the castle and another one of our stops. Also to follow will be the pictures of Florence and Pisa.

Oh my stars TL, you are driving me absolutely mad with envy.

My family (maternal and paternal) is from Northern Italy (Cigliano, which is half way between Torino and Milan) and my DH and I had planned a trip there for next year. We were going to visit Cigliano, then spend time in the Lake District (particularly Lago di Garda). But alas, my youngest DD is getting married in WDW and we'll have to postpone my trip "home" for another time.

However, we are having the reception at the Italy Pavillion in Epcot. So at least I'll be kinda, sorta in Italy
