Hey guys,

Just wanted all of the expert opinions here on the best Italian rest. at WDW.

I'm going with my friend and her 2 kiddo's (ages 4/1)

We are looking at Tutto in Epcot. I do know that's not like your typical Olive Garden type meal, but I have heard that it's good.

Mama Melrose I ate at SEVERAL years ago so have no recent experience with it. A friend of mine was there last year and said it was good, but wouldn't think fabulous.

Tony's I also ate at several years ago and LOVED it! But going back to '07 when hubby and I went I had read some pretty bad reviews on it.

I'm sure there's more that I'm missing. We will be on the DDP so it will need to be a participating rest.

THANKS for any info and food porn you may have! I appreciate it!!! :upsidedow

I've only eaten at Mama Melrose (everyone at our table gave it a thumbs-down- :crazy2: it was much closer to Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee than Olive Garden) and Tony's. Maybe we were lucky, but we all loved our meal at Tony's! We rated it as 2nd best, just slightly lower than LeCellier.
If you haven't done so already, head over to the menus at allears.net. I know that Mama Melrose and Tony's both get mixed reviews, so it really depends on your luck that day. If the menu at Tutto's looks good to you, then I would go with that.

I've had Mamma Melrose, it was good but not fantastic.

I always thought the World need a great Pizzaria somewhere.

We liked Tony's a lot. Chicken parm and the calamari were really good. Mama Melrose was ok in '07 but we did not like it in '08. Haven't been to Tutto...yet!

Tutto was excellent, although pricey. I haven't been to any of the other Italian places at WDW because I always hear only so-so things about them.

Never been to Tutto, but been to Tony's several times and to Spoodles (Mediterranean). I would Pick Tony's over Spoodles.

I would think that not being like Olive Garden is, by definition, a good thing.

In any event, in addition to the restaurants you mentioned, there is also Il Mulino in the Swan hotel. It is very good, but very pricey.

Definitely Tutto. Hands down. No contest-the others just don't compare. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

That said, if you are not on the dining plan, Tony's is less expensive, surprisingly enjoyable (despite the negative reviews it often gets here) and the kids would probably enjoy the Lady and Tramp atmosphere. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We love Tutto, it is our favorite Italian in WDW...we did Tony's last month and enjoyed it too...the calamari was awesome!

Being on the dining plan, then Tutto all the way.

Out of pocket, Il Mulino at the Swan.

Mama Melrose and Tony's are what I call "theme park italian". It's OK but no way are you ever going to confuse it with authentic italian cooking. Food is hot but bland. Tony's we usually go for lunch and we go more for the atmosphere. We are going ot give Il Mulino at the Swan a try this year.

Are you on the dining plan? If not, Il Mulino at the Swan looks really good.

We LOVED Tony's, the chicken parm was wonderful. The sauce was really good, much better then Olive Garden.:thumbsup2

THANKS everyone!!! :upsidedow

If anyone has any food porn to share please do.

I'm thinking we are going to do Tutto. We are on the Dining plan so I think the rest. at the swan is not.

Spoodles is closing sometime soon. But I am interested to see what the rest. will be like that's coming in.

As for tutto not being like OGarden I agree that's VERY good. I was just thinking it's not going to be the typical italian that 'most' people think of at that restaurant.

Another struggle is one of the little girls going just LOVES Lady and the Tramp, so that's why I was leaning Tony's. But I don't know that I want to do both Tutto and Tony's. We will have 6 dining credits to use.

Thanks again for the responses and keep 'em coming :woohoo:
