Italian Food!!

I have a dinner ADR for Mama Melrose's the first night we get there - I get so many mixed reviews about this place. Somebody PLEASE tell me a good Italian place to eat - I'm on the DxDP so cost really isn't a big factor. It's just myself and my DS5.......

If the Mama Melrose menu appeals to you, go ahead and try it. Never mind what anyone else thinks!

You will find good and bad reviews of any restaurant, at WDW, or anywhere in the world. And people who have negative experiences are usually more likely to post than people who have positive experiences.

I personally really like Mama Melrose. Yummy pizza and even yummier dessert. Only reason we aren't going back this year is we wanted to try a lot of new places. Give it a try; if you don't like it, you don't like it. It's just too hard to form your own opinions based on other people's opinions.

I agree completely with Bob's post. If something has glaringly bad reviews like the waiter spit in the food .. or that it was always dirty in the restaurant that's one thing. Sometimes though it is really a matter of individual tastes and experiences.
I too really want to go for Italian and the projected closure for the Italian restaurant in Epcot is right around my dates so I don't want to book that.
Go with your gut when all the advice is too conflicting. Especially being on the deluxe plan you will have many TS meals.

We had good meals at Mama's years ago, just haven't been recently because there are too many other places to try.

I have heard good things about Portobella Yacht Club at DTD, it's pricey but since your on the DxDP that doesn't matter I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard good things.

Forgot that you mentioned your DS5, you may enjoy Mama's more. Portobella is a little more upscale

I agree go ahead and try it. We love Tonys even though it gets mixed reviews as well. We have a ADR every year there. What one person dislikes another one loves...

Mama Melrose is a nice place. We enjoy eating there, but it is not "real Italian food". Give it a try, you will probably enjoy it!

We had dinner there just last Nov. We were 5 people and we all loved our dinners.

The food at Tutta Italalia Looked good even though I didn't eat there I saw the food people were eating on the outside patio!

I say, stick with Mama Melrose.

I think I will - do a decent lunch there or something, I don't care how "authentic" it is, I just want some good-tasting food!
