:wave2: My DW and I are leaving in a couple of days for WDW and are trying to think of new place to eat. We are always on the go when the kids are with us so it is usually grab and run, but we would like to try something different. How is the food at the Italian pavillion? Is it American-Italian or traditional Italian food? Is it good? Any opinions are welcome!! Thanks! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

The name says it all -- L'Originale Alfredo del Roma. It is a branch of Alfredo's of Rome. You will never have any better Fettucini Alfredo!

It's pretty good--but Oh so crowded--I mean the tables are virtually on top of one another.
Sort of like on the Erie canal, where--"You'll always know your neighbor and you'll always know your pal"

We love Alfredo's. It is as traditional as disney will let you get. Definately not Olive Garden italian. So go and enjoy!

We love Alfredo's too. I too would say it is more traditional Italian food. DH loves their veal chop, if it is not listed, he requests it off menu, and they are usually able to accomodate him.

I will never ever go back to this place. I just can't enjoy my meal when I have someone I don't know practically sitting on my lap while I eat. I am serious, it is that bad. They crammed as many seats in there as they could. I have never been to such a poorly designed place in my life.

I agree - I don't see myself going back there either. At least not for dinner.

I was there last year, and was hoping to get some chicken parmesan. They had it on the lunch menu, but I couldn't get it for dinner. So, I got the lasagne, which I seriously, could not tell the difference between it and a can of Chef Boyradee.

What is funny is that I don't even remember if the food was good or bad. Just remember being so uncomfortable there.

We had a very nice lunch there outside in the patio area. Nice, relaxing and open, good food. I have read that it is cramped inside at dinner.

If you are set on dinner, perhaps you could go out the International Gateway and take the boat over to the Swan and eat at Palio's.

We've had good experiences with Alfredos, good food and fun atmosphere.

My DH & I ate there in 2003. The food really was not good. I also had the lasagna and to me it tasted like bologna. I know it sounds weird. But even had DH taste it and he agreed with me. :confused3

If you are willing to take a boat ride over to Palios (it is in either the Swan or Dolphin) you will not regret it. The food is fabulous, very traditional...not American-Italian.
It is a must do for DH and I each time we visit WDW.

We're not fans of Alfredo's. We've tried it twice really wanting to like it since we love Italian food. It is as cramped and noisy at dinner as others have said. We didn't care for the food much either. We've tried the fettucine Alfredo and the lasagna. Not inedible but not very good IOHO.

We were in the room off the main room, with all the glass windows to look outside. It wasn't crowded at all. My boyfriend and I really like it, the veal dish was excellent and the desserts superb! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

If you want decent Italian food go to Palio's at the Swan, short walk from the International Gateway. Fresh pizzas, delicious complimentary bread with olive oil dip, good wine, and a violinist who goes about the restaurant playing Disney songs on request (only serve dinner here). Enjoy!
