I see that the Fantasy/Dream offers an Italian cocktail tasting-Has anyone taken this class? Wondering if they offer the sweet or bitter(I'm partial to Campari) or both. Love a good Negroni!

The majority was pretty bitter. I don't remember everything we had, but I was not a fan of most of it. We did get one drink that tastes like the little baby scoop of lemony something you get at Palo. I enjoyed that. It's one and done on that tasting for me.

We did the Italian Tasting... we enjoyed it a lot. The Campari is the bitter drink I think, whew rough for me.
Dug is talking about Limoncello that was really really good, so was the chocolate liquor YUM!
I tried to recreate the Palo Limoncello with frozen lemonade mix, it was OK, but Palo way way better.

We didn't get anything chocolate. :( THAT I would have loved.

Yes, the Limoncello. THAT one I could have had a few more of to make up for the stuff I left sitting in my glasses for the other thing.

Our bartender who did it was awesome and enjoyable. The drinks just weren't for me. I'll stick to Italian wines for my drinks from Italy! :)

We loved the Italian Cocktail tasting. Julian our bartender was so entertaining.
Loved the limoncello and chocolate drinks. I agree a couple of them weren't for me but we love trying new tastings.
Dug, we have made limoncello. I can give you the recipe if you want.

That would be awesome robhawk! :) Julian was our bartender as well.

Maybe they added the chocolate one in after I cruised - who knows. Haha!

I did it but I can't find my pix. I like sweet, and as I recall there were a couple drinks I liked, but a lot of things I didn't -strange, bitter tastes. Maybe that is what you like though, everyone has different preferences. Although I don't regret doing it, they are fun and educational, I wouldn't do that particular one again. I have done the chocolate, champagne, and tequila/margarita tastings repeatedly because they are more to my tastes.

Hi Dig,

I sent you a pm with the recipe. Not sure if it worked. If not I can text you it.

I am most definitely all about the champagne tasting again! I'll probably do the cognac again as well.

Yes, I know Campari is bitter - but I love the bitter taste. I know it's not for everybody, but I think it's admirable to offer a class on different kinds of drinks-broadens our horizons! It makes those sea days alot more fun!

Hi there was the tequila/margarita tasting all margaritas or actual tequila tasting? We love margarita's but not straight tequila!
Thanks

The ones I have been to are both margaritas, other tequila drinks and tequila, IIRC. I would add the tequila shots to my margaritas, which is really "gauche" apparently with expensive sipping tequila, but I'm not good at straight alcohol.

The last tequila/margarita tasting I did had one tequila I thought was drinkable on its own - I think it was a silver Patron. The other 2 "shots" were poured into the margaritas.
