It wouldn't be spring without an Epcot F&G Festival! New pg 35

For those of you who have been to Typhoon Lagoon, please share your favorite rides & tips for the park!

Oooh...we love Typhoon Lagoon! Part of it is there isn't a ton there, so the pressure to get things done isn't the same as in the parks - the touring is so much like the parks.

Much like the parks - Rope drop and RIDES first. I recommend hit the tube slides first (3 of them) going LEFT as you enter the park around the main pool as the lines move VERY slow for these, then hit either Crush N Gusher or the Storm Slides...they both seem to have shorter/ faster moving lines. Humunga Cowabunga is the only really intimidating slide - speed slide and in the dark, you will have to judge your kids whether they can handle it.

Don't miss the fried donuts - right by the entrance! Get them fresh out of the fryer and they are (god's truth) the best snack at WDW.

If you and the boys are interested in the Shark reef, recommed bringing your own goggles / snorkels. They have life-vests for kids, but they do not have kids size goggles/snorkels, which gave DD a lot of trouble until we brought her own. Water is "cold" relative to everything else, but not a big deal to us Northerners.

Be aware, the wave pool can really beat you up, even in the shallow area. We keep DD8 very close so she doesn't get knocked around too badly. And not just the initial wave, but the follow up waves. It is still awesome, though. If it's too much for the kids, there are times during the day where they run the wave pool as a "normal" wave pool - constant gentle waves - check with a lifegaurd for when that occurs - usually in 30 minute increments 2 or 3 times during the day.

Have fun!

We did BB but DS10 was still little and didn't enjoy it then. I think if we went back we would all have a blast. I do want to try TL maybe next yr. I'm sure the boys will have fun!

First of all congratulations on single digits! Woo Hoo! :cool1:

It's been awhile since I've been to TL, but I love that Crush n gusher. I have some left over water park tickets. I think I may need to go there this summer. I would head to that ride first then the raft rides towards the back get long lines from what I recall. I know they have yummy frozen drinks and the lazy river gets crowded! Probably not telling you anything you don't already know!

Hi Pete! Thanks for all the great info! I have already packed the snorkels & masks for the boys based on your TR! I also have watershoes packed to keep our feet from burning.

I can't wait to try Crush n Gusher! You should definitely go this summer!

Thanks for the info! I don't know much about the park at all, so anything you can offer is helpful.

Alex is off at environmental camp this week. He doesn’t have a one-on-one aide at school but he has an aide that works with him regularly. I was thrilled to find out that she was joining the kids at camp this week. She’s been staying with Alex’s group so far this week & sent some photos to the school principal. Most of them have other kids in them but here is a picture of just Alex. He’s actually touching some salamander eggs!

Two weeks from today, is our big Magic Kingdom day.

This will be our only morning at MK. Our plan is to head right to Storybrook Circus! This won’t be our first visit but it might be our first time riding. We’ll pop in to check out how everything looks in the dark on our first park day. We’ll take a mid-day break, then we’ll be back in the area for our dinner at Chef Mickey’s at 5pm.

We’ll valet park (free with TIW, just need to tip) so we can leave our car there when we head back to MK. We’ll tour the park some more, then we’ll check in for our Wishes Dessert Party!! Wishes is at 10pm & the party starts at 9pm.

The park closes after Wishes so we’ll make our way out with the rest of the masses but we’ll be able to walk over to the Contemporary to get our car. It will be the perfect end to a perfect day!

We are Epcot in the am & lunch at LeCellier at 12:00. We may head to MK that night.

Oh the dessert party. We need to try that sometime. All that chocolate before bed!! Sounds great to me.:thumbsup2

Love the pic of Alex at camp!! That is great that they sent some photos.

Maybe we'll see you at MK that night! :thumbsup2

I'm excited to try the dessert party. Just the fact that we'll have a not-so-crowded area to wait for Wishes will be worth the cost. The desserts are an added bonus! I can't wait to see Tink fly over. I hope it's not too windy.

I was so happy to see the pictures of Alex at camp!

I can't believe you are up to single digits already :cool1:How exciting and yay for packing into suitcases :rotfl:

Love the countdown of plans...they look great and how nice for a good outlook for the weather too :thumbsup2

You will love that walk back to CR after MK closing....say "hi" to my home for me ;)

You guys are going to have a great trip!

My oldest went to Ferry Beach environmental camp for 5 days. He loved it except the food! lol

Tell me about the wishes dessert party, How to reserve it and how far in advance you had to reserve it!

Thanks!

So far things seem to be going well at camp! I can't wait to hear Alex's stories when he gets back.

The ADRs for the Wishes Dessert Party open up later than other ADRs. I want to say it was around February that we made the ADR. (I just looked back at my notes & it was 2/7 - which was the first day April dates were available.) It was $90 for the four of us (3 adults, 1 child). You can make an ADR online but from what I understand, they fill up quickly. We've never done it before so I'm looking forward to giving it a try!

Amy, I'm sorry I've not been posting. I've been reading, but just haven't had time to post.

All the plans sound great; I can't believe your trip is almost here.

No worries Kathy! I'm the same way... I need to catch up on your report! :rolleyes1

That's too bad... The Dessert Party for 8 would make me say ouch too!

:dancer: :dancer: ONE WEEK!!! :dancer: :dancer:

We aren't going to Fulton's but that was the only Downtown Disney picture that came with the countdown app.

One week from now we'll be arriving at Kidani!! I programmed the address into my GPS today & it told me I would be there in 21 hours!

But enough about one week... Two weeks from today will be our sleep in morning. As of now, we are planning to sleep late then head to Disney Quest when it opens at 11:30.

This will be another first for us & I’m sure the boys will love it! The other option is to go to Blizzard Beach… or even Typhoon Lagoon (possible back up plan if the weather wasn’t good earlier in the week).

We have a 4:30 ADR at Raglan Road tonight... a first for all of us, but I've never heard a bad review, so it should be good!

Weather.com has the high temps around 88-89 for the first three days of our trip. There's a 60% chance of rain (thunderstorm) on Thursday but I take the predicted rain chances with a grain of salt because they change every day. What I do take from this is that it's going to be hot! Luckily two of our first three days will involve a lot of swimming!

Tune in tomorrow for Day 9!

I had a little catching up to do but I love your in 2 weeks posts!!

Your plans look great Amy!! That's so exciting to have a savanna view!:thumbsup2

I think you'll love Typhoon Lagoon. It's such a relaxing and fun day to spend the day. We did the water slides first thing before it got too busy and then did the lazy river after lunch. The boys loved the wave pool the best and we had a hard time getting them to leave it. It was definitely their favorite although it actually made me nervous so I ended up getting out and taking pictures instead.

I'm so excited to hear your review of the Wishes Dessert party. I looked into it for our trip this summer but there were no times available for the days we are going to be in MK. It sounds like a lot of fun!

Yay for one week!!!!:dance3:

This DIS is definitely acting up today! I haven't been getting notifications for some of the threads I'm subscribed to... including my own PTR! Odd... :confused3

I'm really looking forward to TL! The wave pool makes me nervous & I haven't even seen it yet. But I know the kids will have a blast.

I'll be sure to report back with a review of the Wishes party!

Great to do list update :thumbsup2

I will be very curious what you think of Raglan Road thinking of eating there next yr w/ the family!
