It wouldn't be spring without an Epcot F&G Festival! New pg 35

Whooo hoooo for the choice to stay at Kidani! We are over at Jambo house, but will be using both pools! Both my boys love it there, hope yours do too!

Sooooo.... Now I am jealous... LOOKS WONDERFUL!

I'm really excited about the change!

Even though the BC is my favorite resort, I think you made a good choice switching. I would have been a nervous wreck wondering what the construction would really be like. nd I would have been really disappointed:headache: after spending ALL that $$$$. AKL is the next resort I'd like to stay at. Savannah view sounds awesome:thumbsup2

That's exactly it... we really want to stay at BC but when SAB is fully functional.

You are going to LOVE Kidani.

Happy counting!

Thanks for the picture MeMom! I'm a little grossed out by that snake though! Can't wait to see the tiger!

Kidani looks absolutely beautiful! And all of that space in a 1 br can't be beat.

I'm really excited!! And very happy that I paid for the upgrade to savanna view!

I was looking over how much of the pool was going to be closed and I started wondering if you might think about swtiching. I know if it was supposed to be closed when we're going it would be a major concern for us. So excited for you to be staying at Kidani!

::yes:: When I realized that portion of the pool made up half of SAB, I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I'm really glad we switched!

You know me, always ready to help a friend spend money! We might have to come visit you on Saturday and make sure that pool is the right tempature ;)

Sounds fun - I hope we can find a time that works for you to come swim with us!

MeMom - those Tiger pictures are great!

:thumbsup2

How exciting to be able to stay at Kidani!!:yay:

It's too bad about Stormalong Bay. But, it does look like a big portion will be down when you go and this way you don't have to deal with all the construction noise. I think you made a great choice!!!:thumbsup2

We'll make it back to BC one day... but I'm happy with our decision to change resorts.

Sad that you wont be at BC with us but glad for you about Kidani!!:thumbsup2

I hope we still get to meet up this time.

I am still bummed about the pool but the walk into Epcot & to DHS is still a great reason for us to stay there. Plus walking to ESPN club if the Bruins are in the playoffs will be ideal for Ryan & Cody.

I think in your case you made a great choice.:thumbsup2

31 Days!! Well almost 30 now.:goodvibes

I'm sad we won't be at BC with you but I just couldn't stop thinking about it & knew we had to change. I hope you guys have a great time!

30 days to go!! Happy spring! Enjoy the heat again today!

Whooo hoooo for the choice to stay at Kidani! We are over at Jambo house, but will be using both pools! Both my boys love it there, hope yours do too!

I'm sure we'll be checking out both pools too!

we may see you on the buses too! unless you are renting a car? Please say hi!

Remind me what your dates are? We will have a car but may take some buses too... we'll see...

Now I'm SUPER jealous! AKL is my dream resort! I can't wait to hear about it when you get back. YAY, YAY, YAY!!

MeMom Those tiger pics are AWESOME!!!! I will definately taking the trek this time.:thumbsup2
My mom will freak out at that snake thought:laughing:

:wave2: Hi! I followed you over from one of the threads about SAB. Congrats on the switch! Kidani looks ahhh-mazing!!! We were in the same boat and also switched our reservation (to GF).

Looking forward to catching up on your plans!!!:goodvibes

What a bizarre doctors appt! Hopefully you will be headed in the right direction with the nephrologist. I wondered what that type of doctor did so I learned something today! :thumbsup2

Love your AK plans! We like the Majarah Jungle Trek but I usually avoid the python! Hoping Memom's picture doesn't make me dream about snakes tonight!!! :rotfl2: I have an absolute fear of snakes and refuse to stay in ground floor rooms for just that reason. I am afraid someone will leave the door open and in they will come in. :confused3

We finally saw Flights of Wonder this summer and  the show. It was really neat and for someone who also doesn't like birds, that is saying a lot.

Congrats on Kidani! I think you will love it. The views are worth staying there alone but the pool is a great plus!! Your boys will have a blast!!!

I don't know why I thought our trips overlapped more :sad1: we are there from the 11th-20th :lovestruc Cannot wait!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for AKL Kidani. We fell in love with Kidani in September and because of that have cancelled our thoughts of a cruise in 2013 for our 30th wedding anniversary and will instead spend a week at Kidani. :goodvibes

I love that you are staying Kidani with Savannah view, so cool. That is our dream resort stay:goodvibes Can't wait to read your review and see about any planning changes you make/made. I've read there are some fun activities for kids there.

I'm really, really excited! I will definitely take a lot of pictures!

:welcome: It was so disappointing to find out about the SAB construction & I really tried to make it work for us, but I'm happy with our decision to switch resorts! The GF will be amazing - enjoy!

It was an odd appointment! Hope you didn't have snake dreams! :headache:

I think Flights of Wonder might freak Alex out a bit but it's good for him to face his fears once & a while. We'll make sure he has a seat where he feels safer.

I can't wait to see the view from our room at Kidani!

I don't know why I thought our trips overlapped more :sad1: we are there from the 11th-20th :lovestruc Cannot wait!

Bummer! What are your plans for the 19th & 20th? We'll be checking in around 12-1 on the 19th then mostly hanging out at the resort. We have dinner at the Poly. We'll be at DHS & MK on the 20th.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for AKL Kidani. We fell in love with Kidani in September and because of that have cancelled our thoughts of a cruise in 2013 for our 30th wedding anniversary and will instead spend a week at Kidani. :goodvibes

:cool1: I remember reading your TR about Kidani! It is a great resort & I can't wait to share it with my family!

I love that you are staying Kidani with Savannah view, so cool. That is our dream resort stay:goodvibes Can't wait to read your review and see about any planning changes you make/made. I've read there are some fun activities for kids there.

I need to do some more research on what kinds of things there are to do at the resort. I'm really excited to learn more about it!

Today we only have 29 days to go!!
3b86b07a.jpg

(oops - obviously I need to change the title of my countdown too)

The last week and a half have been so crazy & it's started to take it's toll on me! I caught a cold. Hopefully I'll be all better by the time we head to Disney & nobody else catches it. I haven't been sleeping well because there has been so much going on. Between Alex's kidney stone appointments, getting him ready for environmental camp, getting ready for Easter, following up on testing appointments for the boys following their annual trip to the neurologist in February & starting to deal with Alex's transition to middle school, I'm spent! And of course, to top it off, my usual outlet, Disney planning, went into a tailspin too when I head about the SAB closure! Anyways - yesterday my head was spinning & I thought I was going to have an anxiety attack... turns out it's a chest cold! So today I'm treating myself to a lazy day, just relaxing & catching up on my Disney planning. :goodvibes

I promised you a look at some of the new things we are looking forward to. That list has certainly changed in the last couple days! I'll post my original list, along with some new things that I just added!

New things:
• Beach club & SAB - not any more...
• Club level - nope
• Surrey Bike – maybe?
• Typhoon Lagoon (& maybe Blizzard Beach too!) – yes!
• Disney Quest – probably – unless we do BB instead!
• Hoop-Dee-Doo (new for the boys) – yes!
sc0002ee3d-1.jpg

• Kidani villa! :cool1:
• Savanna View!
• Two awesome AKL pools! :thumbsup2

New Dining:
• ‘Ohana (new)
• ESPN (Pretty much new - I think Tim & I ate there in 1997?) – hopefully unless there’s a game…
• Cape May dinner (new) – probably not keeping this ADR
• Beaches & Cream (new) – dessert – not sure??
• Raglan Road (new) – probably
• Wishes dessert party!!
• Boma Breakfast!

I'm soooo glad I went back & added savanna view because it must have been the last room – no longer available right after I booked it! :scared1: I would have been so disappointed if I'd tried to add it & it wasn't available!

Here is where things stand with my to do list. These are the things I wanted to have done by tomorrow.
Early March:
• Buy any meds needed - DONE
• Update first aide & foot care supplies - DONE
• Organize trading pins - DONE
• Pull out Disney box - DONE
• New washable markers for the boys - DONE
• Make souvenir certificates - DONE
• Collect Photopass Share Money – DONE
• New: Mousekeeping Envelopes (3) - DONE
cc93f5d3.jpg

(Sorry if this is still sideways - I turned it in photobucket but it's not cooperating!)

Tomorrow starts my weekly to do lists for the last four weeks!! I also have to add a few items because I have to go back and adjust my touring cards due to the park hours changes for April - specifically the EMH hours that flip flopped for Friday 4/27 & Saturday 4/28. I was able to move our ADRs so I flip flopped our morning plans for those two days. I also have to update the boys surprise books due to the resort change!

Here is my to do list for the next week, starting tomorrow:
4 weeks to go: (March 22 – 29)
• Prepare for Easter (shopping)! - Mostly DONE (need groceries when it gets closer)
• Coordinate pet care
• Make grocery list (for villa) - Started
• Inventory batteries – buy more if needed - DONE
• Buy more Ziploc bags - DONE
• Pre-Order Photopass CD – DONE
• Figure out camera settings
• Add room request to Kidani ressie – near lobby, 3rd or 4th floor
• Update touring cards
• Update surprise book
• Figure out surprise

That's what I have going on! I leave you with a couple of questions...

I know there are a bunch of us who are going to be there at the same time, but I can't remember everyone's dates & resorts. Who is going between 19-29? And where are you staying?

Second question, for those of you who have stayed at AKL/Jambo or Kidani, what are your favorite things to do at the resort?

We are going to be there April 20-30. We are staying in a pool home that a friend owns... almost 3 miles from AK. :cool1:

Hope your cold gets better!!

Your plans look good. You reminded me that I have to print out our Mousekeeping Envelopes!!

You know we are arriving the day you are (4/19) & we are at the Beach Club.
Cody still does not know where we are staying but I have almost slipped a few times talking about the pool closure!!

As always, I am so amazed at how organized you are!

You are going to love the AKL.

Here were my favorites:

1. eating breakfast on the balcony watching the animals--actually I could have stayed on the balcony all day and never left. I would go out there in the mornings before my crew awoke, eat, read a book and just watch. It was wonderful!!

2. exploring the lobbies--go down the hallways too. There is artifacts everywhere!

3. At Jambo house, there is rockers off the main lobby overlooking the Arusha area (not sure if that is what it is called), I loved sitting there, watching the animals and reading.

4. Visit Jambo or Kidani overlook and talk to the cast members. The boys will love it and they will tell them all about the animals if they ask questions.

5. Flamingo pond at Jambo--DS liked that. They do feedings there daily with a CM.

6. Loved both pools. Liked the hot tubs better at Jambo--seemed more private. DS loves the slide and play area at Kidani.

7. Exploring the resort early in the morning.

One last thing, I saw you posted on FB about walking/riding between the resorts. We always walked. It is about 10-15 minutes and much easier. Plus it got us some exercise. If you are at Kidani, all theme park buses go directly to Jambo and then to the parks. The DTD bus will go directly to DTD as it stops first at Jambo and then Kidani (would be the bus you would want to get on if you are at Jambo wanting to get back to Kidani).

You are going to have so much fun!!! I can hardly wait.

Sounds like you have been a very busy lady! Good grief! A mother's work is never done..... ;)

Love the new choice of resort and I'm so glad they had a savannah view available. I agree that if you are at AKL, there is no other way to go!

The mousekeeping envelopes are adorable...I love the little Mickey head pocket to tuck the money into! Very nice!

Your mouskeeping envelopes are too cute, I might use that idea for one day if that is ok with you.:goodvibes

I say def. keep the Beaches and Cream for dessert, that was the highlight of our trip I think. The boys keep talking about making sure we go get the BIG ice-creams.:rotfl: They are big.

You have gotten so much checked off your list, :goodvibes you are so close, heres to hitting the 20's on your countdown:banana:
