...Our Anniversary date is Dec 11. It would have been our 10th yr. Though he is no longer here, he is still here with me, in my heart and in memory. I just feel like I need to go out and celebrate on our special day. We honeymooned at WDW and we celebrated our 7th at WDW as well.

I kind of wanna go back to WDW with my children, but the only thing is that they will still be in school. I can do it during Christmas/NYE vacation, but it may not be the same it's not exactly on our Anniversary date.

I am not trying to find excuses to go to WDW again, we've been there already 3X this year and 3X last year.

I just feel like I need to celebrate our special day and it's even more special cause it our 10th yr. I just wanted him to know that I miss him and I will always love him and that he is not forgotten.

What do you guys think?

Do what your heart tells you. I believe Dec 11 is a Saturday so maybe make it a weekend trip.

I am truly sorry for your loss, Fantasia.
My personal opinion is this: You and your family do what feels right for you!
I do not think anyone has the right to tell you to not to go or to go.
Only you and your children know what you need - and if that means going to WDW - then go.

My thoughts are with you and your family in this decision.:)

A  Telly. I hear what you are saying. And I think you will be able to do what you think is best, if as said above, maybe a weekend. And nothing wrong either with remembering the day at home either.'s

 I think you should do something special with your children. Maybe even if you sit with them and go through old photos or take them to a place he really enjoyed.

Oh Im so sorry for you pain. I cant even imagine what it must be like with a special anniversary like that coming up.
Sorry I dont have much good advice to offer other than what the other have said...go with your heart.

Follow your heart
you know what is best for you and your children
:wizard: pixie dust to help you get thru the day no matter where you are

The 11th is a Saturday; can you pull them out on Friday, adn make a long weekend of it? I'm sure your kids teachers would understand, if they have any heart at all.

I am a big advocate of raising my own children, which the school hates! I would pull them and go if that is what your heart tells you!

Go with your heart! If you feel like being in WDW on that occasion will make you feel closer to him and you want to mark that anniversary in this special way, than do it. I can't believe a teacher would have a problem with this one.

So sorry for your pain and loss.

Thank you everyone. Since it's on a Saturday, I think I will make it a long weekend trip. Hopefully the kids will not have any exam that Friday or Thursday. I hope I can make this trip happen without any problem. Thanks for the comforting words and pixie dust.

December 11th is the big MegaMouseMeet at WDW. If you feel like being with your internet friends on your 10th anniversary (for support), you would have the greatest opportunity all year to do so. I know that quite a few DISers will be there on or around that day.

I am certain that December 11th will be a melancholy day for you, but I can't imagine a better place to celebrate the memory of your life with your husband.

Hugs for you and for the kids.

  Hugs, Telly! Maybe it can work out since the date falls on a Saturday. I'm sure your kids' teachers would understand. Do what's comfortable for YOU!

Listen to your heart, it will never steer you wrong.

If you want to be at WDW then by all means go! If you decide to stay home and maybe make his favorite meal and go through pictures with your kids, then do that. Only you know what feels right! I know that this must be so painful for you!
