Today Grandma and Grandpa are off to Discovery Cove and we are off to Typhoon Lagoon.
Hubby is one of 5 boys who all decided to chip in and get Grandma and Grandpa a trip to Discovery Cove to swim with the dolphins. Cliff had always wanted to swim with dolphins so they were very excited about going. I did them a little gift box to present them at a family get together, I got all the kids to decorate a fish and them we stuck them to a box, the box included the ticket some sweets, water shoes, underwater camera and a few other bits and pieces.
So we dropped them off in the morning and made our way to Typhoon Lagoon for a couple of hours, the day was overcast but still warm so that was great. We arrived and went straight to Ketchadee Creek and set ourselves up. Doug and Cullen went and got changed while I changed Seth and put him in the water.
When Doug and Cullen came back I slathered them in sun cream and Cullen went in the water. There were water jets shooting water into the air, Cullen was convinced he was making the water come up by waving his hands around. He was so excited.
I went away to get changed and hire a locker. The first locker the lady gave me wouldnt open up fully so I couldnt get my bag in so I had to go back in and pick up another one. Finally I was all sorted and headed back to Doug and the kids, Cullen had fallen over twice by the time I got there and had a scratched leg and elbow so was not in a very good mood. Seth was getting a bit cold so we played a bit in the different places at Ketchadee Creek, before wandering back to the shop to pick up some life jackets with the plan to float around the lazy river. Well Seth screamed blue murder when we put the life jacket on his and Cullen wasnt much happier. I sat down and fed Seth who went to sleep, Cullen was still grumpy so we decided to leave. We did not see much of Typhoon Lagoon, in hindsight we would have been better to go back to the condo and have a play in the pool there. Luckily the tickets we bought included a trip to a water park so it didnt cost us any more money. We were in and out of Typhoon Lagoon in less than two hours. Got some good photos though so that was great.
After leaving Typhoon Lagoon we went to have some lunch at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. We had a lovely lunch with a great waitress, have no idea what we ordered by I remember enjoying it;
Love this photo of Seth
afterwards I went and picked up our tickets for the Halloween Party. We had a quick look around took some photos before heading back to the condo, Cullen fell asleep in the car around 3.00 pm so we transferred him to bed and he was out like a light, which was great he slept until about 6.00 pm when I finally woke him up and got him ready.
Doug went off to collect Grandma and Grandpa. While Seth and I hung out at the condo, Seth decided he didnt want a nap. Typically. Grandma and Grandpa had a fantastic time at Discovery Cove, they own a parrot at home and really like birds as well as Dolphins, I had read that you should visit the aviary first thing in the morning as the birds are at their friendliest so they had good interaction with them.
We headed off to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party dressed in the shirts I made.
We arrived at the party around 7.00 I was quite surprised that we had to pay for parking; I did think that it would be included in the ticket price. We were going against the crowds leaving but they had pretty good system set up with coloured lights herding people in and people out. We collected our wristbands and headed on in. The weather was overcast and looking like rain.
Our first ride was Its a Small World and the kids loved it, it was a walk on, Seth danced away to the music.
Seth looks terrified but he did like it.
We then rode, Winnie the Pooh and the Teacups before heading for some trick or treating, Cullen thought it was fabulous you hold out a bag and they fill it with sweets he was in heaven.
We joined in with the dance party for a few dances, before riding Dumbo, Seth was asleep by then so Grandma and Pa watched him while we rode, we did all this while the 8.15 parade was on, more trick or treating before heading down the Alice and mad hatters Treat Party, ending up in tomorrow land, we took a shortcut through the noodle station arriving on Main Street to have something to eat at Caseys then to watch the fireworks, I had corndog bits some fries and a drink, got another fries and a hotdog for Doug and we all shared these items with Cullen. In New Zealand we have a thing like a corn dog except we call them hot dogs on a stick. (Well I do anyway most of the rest of the country just call him hotdogs) We had a great spot for the fireworks. Seth who wakes up at a pin drop in his bedroom, slept through the entire performance of fireworks, I could not believe it. Cullen found it quite loud, he kept saying too loud Mummy, he didnt cry he just didnt like it. So I hugged him into me and put my other hand over his ears, he found that much better.
Stopping to have our photo taken by the photo pass lady, she was rubbish cut Cullen out and blurred the castle. She did take one on my camera which was better. We headed over to ride Pirates, meet King Louis more trick or treating before getting a spot for the parade, the rain started chucking it down by this point so we got a bit wet. Seth was still happily sleeping in his snug wee pram with the rain cover.
After the parade we headed towards the haunted mansion but the line was too long for us so we decided to ride Peter Pan before heading home, Seth, who was still asleep, and I just wandered around looking about, we headed out I stopped to buy a balloon for Cullen, just about died at the price and caught the monorail back to the parking lot, we werent parked that far from the front so we walked back to the car and went home.
Got lost again heading home but not too badly got home and went off to bed.
Tomorrow, rest day and then back to EPCOT. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2132595
