OK we are getting hammered with snow here in Philly again and it's the first of 3 storms they are predicting this week. What better way to deal with it than reliving some warm days and Disney.
We are now on Day 4 of the trip - Tuesday December 3rd.
The temperature on this morning started at 59 degrees. We had an early start this day. While Jim showered I took a few pictures from the balcony.
Our view

For those of you reading along not familiar with SSR that is the Carriage House. The elusive building we looked for on our first night here. It was a brief 5 minute walk.
Anyway Jim was ready quickly and we headed to the Grandstand bus stop. There were these beautiful and HUMONGOUS birds on the golf course.

The CM working the bus stop did tell us what they were but I am a little hard of hearing and couldn't understand what she said. They do hang out on the golf course in the early morning though. It was the only time we ever saw them.
We were at the bus stop by 7:15 AM and the MK bus was there within 5 minutes. The bus driver was really nice and chatty which makes for a pleasant ride. We made the loop around the resort and got to the MK stop by 7:45. So far we were having great luck. Jim however was walking very slow and we missed the monorail. Jim has 2 speeds normally slow and really SLOOOOOW!!! With his foot he only had really slow and not moving.
We got the next monorail and arrived at our destination just a little late. I wanted Crystal Palace for breakfast but could never get an ADR. 1900 Park Fair opened up about 2 weeks before we left so I grabbed it. I went straight to the podium and I don't have an ADR. I had the app on my phone ready and showed it to them.
"Oh here it is Mary."
Umm my name isn't Mary.
"Well that's the name on the reservation."
My name isn't Mary check again.
"Do you have a different ADR so we can try through that?"
After finally finding my ADR through my Cali Grille ADR they gave us a pager and had me park outside. We got our pic and if I ever get Flickr or Photobucket to work I'll post my photopass pics. I do NOT like the Memory Maker.
We were seated and after the spiel on how a buffet works, and ordering coffee which I desperately needed now I hurried over. I was aggravated and hungry. And I really wanted to try

The strawberry soup. Sorry I didn't clean up the bowl for a nice pretty picture but I was in a hurry and it was worth it. It definitely lived up to it's hype.
While Jim was getting his food Winnie the Pooh made it to our table. The man sitting next to us very nicely took my picture

By time Jim came back we had Tigger

Mary Poppins sat down and had a nice conversation with Jim

Alice in Wonderland

The Mad Hatter

He was an amazing character. Very chatty. Kept having conversations with Alice. Really into his character. After I took Jim's picture he went to take mine. Mad Hatter wouldn't hear of it and said we should be in one picture. He recruited a man who had just sat down with his family to take the picture

We really had fun here. Now just a brief rant. We were seated next to a family with 4 young children I believe they ranged from 2 y/o to 9 y/o. The age range of my grandkids so I like kids and am very use to the ages. The parents I wanted to smack in the head. They got the kids cereal. Most wound up on the floor. They got the baby a banana and he squished it and threw it on the floor. They seriously came back with huge plates of food, took one bite and went back for more an half wound up on the floor next to me. The kids were wild and laying down on the bench so I got kicked a few times. The whole time the parents laughed at how cute the kids were. Don't get me wrong. I know this is Disney, I love kids and I know kids get exited but there is now excuse for bad and rude behavior. Jim and I actually ate quite fast and couldn't wait to get out of there.
I will go back again though. The food and character interactions were fantastic. Our total cost with tax and tip was $62.00.
After we finished eating I took some pics of the Grand Floridian.
The tree in the lobby

and a close up of some of the ornaments

A flower display in the lobby

The Gingerbread House

The details are amazing. Now while I was taking my pics I noticed they had a photopass photographer there. One woman was yanking her son to get in line because she said, "I want your picture done by a professional photographer."
I had to leave because I stated laughing so hard Jim thought I was insane. Some of the photopass people are good but I wouldn't say they are professional photographers. And this one looked like he might be on the College Program so he could be majoring in photography. He could just as easily be majoring in finance.
I took one more pic

Found my scooter and we were off to the monorail and the MK.
If you noticed Jim wearing a Santa shirt we were doing MCMCP that night and I had gotten us Christmas shirts to wear. I think they put kids shirts in the woman's section as my shirt was so tight it would fir my granddaughter. Thankfully I had packed an extra shirt.
Up next where do we go first?
