IT WAS PACKED! Anyone else there the past coupls of days?

yipee for a college age son on break, a 7 year old that is home schooled (he agreed to do work this week so he can have 3 days of vacation next week) and a hubby who can work from anywhere (usually home) We are going next week after everyone else gets back to school and work.

We actually almost went this week and upgraded our AP's to premium but DS can't handle those crowds so we opted for next week. I think after seeing pics and hearing stories we made the right choice. I am sure everyone is having a magical time despite the crowds. how can you not? It is Disney after all.

Darkbeer, on another site :rolleyes1 says he thinks the crowds won't die down until the LA kids go back and they aren't scheduled to go back until Jan 11. (year round schools) it could be more crowded than average after the new year. I don't think it will really die down until Jan 11th, then gear back up again for Martin Luther B-Day

The Oregon ducks made it to the Rose Bowl so I know there are a tremendous number of fans who will be at the game and everyone I have talked to said they are also going to DL.
The Ducks occupy a special place in these here parts...

Out of curiosity, I called Disneyland tonight at about 8pm and asked if the Park was closed yet due to crowds. The CM operator told me that the Park was "Sold Out." I asked her exactly what that meant. She said that no further tickets were being sold tonight, but if you have a hand stamp or a Premium pass (the only pass not blocked out today) you could still come in, and then she very specifically added, "as it stands right now." She was also clear to specify that was only in regard to DL, DCA was wide open for everyone.

- Dreams (who wishes she had a camera when jokingly suggesting to DH tonight, "Hey, wanna go watch the 11:55pm Fantasmic! tonight at DL?")

The 11th? WOW that is late. Even our schools who are year round go back this Monday, Tuesday or Wed. Depending on their track. Some crowds DS can handle. We were there in mid October and he was fine. He just can't handle wall to wall people - but then neither can I.

You should really checkout Miceage today. Most of his article was about the upcoming crowds this month. It seems from about the 11-13th of this month should be a small pocket of low crowds until they pick up again. Apparently between the sports events and the NAM convention this month it's going to be very busy
