Sigh, it was one of those days that you shoulda stayed in bed! It started this morning when I got the baby up and he had done a major diarreah and it was all over the place. Got him up and in the bath and his crib and all cleaned up. Figured it was a freak thing since he was acting just fine so we head out to Walmart to grocery shop. Get inside and he proceeds to throw up more throw up then i've ever seen come out of a toddler in my life. It was all over him, me, the floor. Everyone just stared at me, no one got anything to clean up with or anything... so I headed out the door as fast as I could. Headed to my grandma's and I took a shower while she gave him a bath. All was well until my grandma opened bleach to soak the baby's toy that had gotten vomit on it and she accidentally dropped the bottle and it splashed all over her good jeans and even worse, on the baby's face and into his right eye. We called the poison number on the bleach bottle and followed their directions and rinsed the eye for 15 minutes. By this time, the baby had blown out his diaper again. Another clean up, all along he is screaming because his eye hurt and he was absolutely exhausted. Normally he is a very good sleeper and napper but it took my grandma rocking him for 30 min until he calmed down. He started screaming again when he heard me go in the room to get my clothes out of the dryer and but I HAD to leave... had to pick up dds at school. My younger dd had a doctor appointment because of a cough she's had for a month. Upon examination, the doctor was able to diagnose her with an audiotory tic (like terretts syndrome) but he said it could go on and on for some time or it will stop or stop and something else like excessive eye blinking, we just don't know. Oh and her teacher has told her twice this week to stop coughing or she'd go to time out... nice huh? We have a note from the doctor now stating the diagnoses and if she keeps talking about the coughing, the less likely it is to stop... so we are to ignore it and i'm making darn sure the teacher understands that.

So what a fantastic day huh? I'm ready for bed!

Sorry to hear that you had such a bad day. However, a new day starts tommorrow and I'm sure it will be much better.

ugh! Hopefully, you got it all over in one day!

Tomorrow will be better!

Hang in there!

:grouphug: Hang in there mom! Tomorrow is a new day :goodvibes !

Concerning your younger dd, my ds has the same thing. It was(is) a stress release. For him it occurs more during times of big changes like the beginning of a new school year and the end of the school year. We always warn the teacher to just ignore it or it will get worse. When he had his "throat clearing" phase he was allowed to have a water bottle on is desk. More as a distraction for him than anything. Good luck!

nhrenee, the doctor kept asking me if something was going on in her life that would cause stress and I really can't think of a single thing. I'm hoping the teacher will be ok with it, she is not the best teacher either of my girls ever had, we disagree with alot of her choices for the class and her rules and all.

I'm so sorry you had such a bad day! Here's a BIG :grouphug: for you.

Sorry for your rotten day! As for your younger daughter, one of my sons has Tourette Syndrome--it started when he was in 1st grade. It's not something that I'd wish on anyone, but there are most certainly things that are a lot worse that he could have. And one tic doesn't mean tourettes--it is very likely an isolated occurance.

Hopefully your baby will feel better tomorrow!

very sexy post

I have a story for you. When my DS was almost a year old, we went on a 5 day vacation to Williamsburg, VA. The weekend before we had made a day trip to Sesame Place in PA and he picked up a mild stomach virus. He had mild diarhea all the next week, and through the vacation. I never changed so many diapers! But none of them were really bad. Both kids were young - 4 and 1. We got one hotel room for all of us and the kids just couldn't sleep with us in the room and therefore DH and I couldn't sleep either. None of us were happy campers. I really wanted to see historic Williamsburg, but the day we went there both kids were tired and just behaved awfully. They did better at the water park because they liked it. Then on the second to last day we went to Busch Gardens. Ugh. Another long day. Then we took a tram out of the park to the car. I took a photo of the kid in the stroller before we got on the tram - so cute and peaceful and asleep, with chubby legs. Then when the tram came, we had to wake him so I could hold him on the tram, so DH could hold the stroller on the tram. I get on the tram. DH hands him to me. We ride the tram. I notice poop on the stroller. I look down and the diaper has leaked. All over DS and my lap. Eww! So when we get to our car, we tried to wipe off, but YUCK! As we drove to the hotel, I said... I'm done! Let's go home! We took showers, wrapped up the yucky clothes and checked out a day early. I still have that photo of DS on my refridgerator...

I had the same thing the pediatrician back then called it a nervous cough. But it did happen when stressfull things were happening. My mom would just tell me to relax when it happened and that everything would be ok. The last time I noticed it was on my wedding day!! My dad gave me a piece of gum and on my wedding video he and I are walking down the aisle chewing furiuosly! She might be nervous about her teacher (who you said isnt that great) she just might not realize it. My mom figured that for me it was a 2nd grade teacher that truly looked like the wicked witch of the west and would scream at us!! :scared:

I can so relate to days like that. I am glad to be over them for now.KNock on wood. Hang in there and best wishes to your daughter and your son.

I had one of those days too!!
I hope tomorrow is better for all of you!!
:sunny:
I'm going to go walk in front of a truck now... :thumbsup2

Sorry to hear about your crappy day- I hope tomorrow is better.

May I recommend taking your daughter to a specialist? She may have a nervous tic, but she might also have cough-variant asthma. People with CVA do not wheeze like a normal asthma attack, but they cough repeatedly to try to open/clear their lungs. It can be very difficult to diagnose but is easily treated with regular asthma meds.
