It was NOT the time of our lives...but it's still DISNEY! Final thoughts!

For everyone whos been following my PTR and have now joined my TR, I recently bought a temporary Dining room table, which is dark maple and round with 4 black leather chairs. Come Spring, once we can find a rectangle dining room table with a at least two leaf inserts and matching cabinet we will move this temporary round table set in the kitchen and throw out the current one in the kitchen.
UPDATE:
All we need is to get a mirror (to hang in the dining room wall there) along with some fresh flowers for the table and an area rug.
Considering you can see part of our living room in this photo as well, I wanted to hang 3 photos of us from our photo shoot above the living room couch but I dont think that will happen now :S and we need a new lamp!!
Now that I just look at the photo everything looks so small.... but the SPACE IS HUGE.
Oh, Please ignore my treadmill..it clearly needs to be moved upstairs in the spare bedroom this evening before our guest arrive.
It looks great! I love the chairs.

We left off as we were just relaxing a little after 2:15p where I also took the time to iron me and dbf's outfit while he showed. Now it's, 3:15p, 3:30p, 3:45p, 3:50p, 3:55p,
4:00p, 4:07p, 4:10p
By now its 4:10pm and my hair and make up appointment as you all know is at 4:00pm. I was a little concern with the lady on the phone (who was clueless) and that she possibly didnt write down the correct room information, or maybe even the artist was lost. By 4:12p I started to walk out the room towards the elevators (back and forth) and just keep an eye out around the pool and down bellow just incase she was in fact lost...
4:15p, 4:17p, still no sign Now Im really worried and starting to stress out because we have to meet Roots at 6:15pm at the Grand Floridian and we needed to include transportation time. I was told it would take around one hour and a half and we were running out of time. 4:18p, Now Im telling myself, one more minute and Ill call the contact phone numbers given and just confirm that I actually got the time correct
FINNALY..... between 4:23p and 4:26p she arrived. I was so annoyed, disgusted at the lack of professionalism and really angry because I knew we were on a timeline and not a timeline I had requested or scheduled She was here now and thats all that matter. I brushed it off and we got down to business.
She came right into the room, she started to set up her make up brushes, tools, etc and then we both sat at the little table and I showed her the photos.
This is how I wanted my hair to look like; this is the exact photo I showed her.
This is how I wanted my make-up to look like; this was 1 out of 2 of the photos I showed her.
The other one was a Kim Kardasian photo (which I cut out from a magazine and can't find online to show everyone). I wanted big eyelashes, hardly any eye shadow (because I dont like to wear it), the use of coral/neutral colors and natural lips with a glowing/tanned skin.
She decided she would start on my make up first in order to preserve my hair as long as possible with the humidity. I thought that I was really thoughtful because that was one of my concerns.
We talked during the make up application and she was incredibly sweet, we def. had a lot in common and she was extreme friendly.
You could tell she was a really nice person, I completely thought we could be friends. She used ¾ of her time on my make up, which I thought was out of the ordinary and I was a bit concern.
At this point, Dbf walked over and bought himself some dinner at POP. No food porn pictures because I was too stressed out and clearly occupied.
Finally, I got to see my make up in the mirror and I looked like this (This is NOT a photo of me, just a photo of what my make up looked like, a drag queen make up):
Dan said it looked nice, but I could tell in his face he was being nice. I was horrified; it was just packed on, not my style what so ever. I cant even type out (or know how to express to everyone) how shocked I was. Yes, It could have just looked out of place because my hair was still flat in a pony and the lighting, so I decided in my mind, I would wait to see the final product before I gave any sort of judgment. I knew we only had about 22 minutes for her to do my hair, so I didnt say anything at this point WE WERE RUNNING OUT OF TIME. I truly didnt think shed get it finished in time.
After I sat back down, she started on my hair, all I can say is this is what it looked like in the end, the best photo I can find.
Just not as nice, she had only curled from my chin down with a small barrow curling iron, which held tight curls. I don't have extension to increase the thickness of my hair and the curls def were not that well defined or well palces. IT LOOKED Absolutely NOTHING like the photo I had showed her.
With that, she cleaned up her tools we said goodbye and I looked at the clock. It was already 5:50p and I wasnt dressed yet and we still needed to get to the GF.
I HATED MY HAIR AND MAKE UP, after she walked out the door, I looked in the mirror and all I thought was that I just wasted 135.00 dollars. I immediately took a Kleenex and wiped off most, if not all of the eye shadow. Then I plugged in my hair straightened and tried to loosen the curls a bit but there was too much hairspray. NOTHING WAS WORKING, I WAS PANICKING and all I had time to do was get dressed.
Just as I was getting dressed, I hear Dbfs cell phone ring.
There were only 2 people who had his cell phone number:
1. My aunt incase of an emergency with my grams! and
2. The photographers, The Roots.
Thoughts regarding the situation up to this point:
-I was devastated and completely disappointed. Dbf didnt understand and I felt frustrated about that. I am a complete girly girl, how can I truly love photos when I HATED my hair and make up? No matter how good the photographers, they cant photo shop my whole entire look.
-Should I have said something, YES, but there was NO TIME. NO TIME to change it.. what was there to do? I don't know.
-I honestly felt ugly and completely not me.
UP NEXT: Did I mention it was 'misting rain' outside? Who called? (It's not who you think!!)

Oh.. I"m excited to see your wedding pics and reception pics.. I love looking at people's wedding photos they always look absolutely beautiful. I did, I voted too!!

Just read your most recent update and can't wait to hear more---I'm dying to find out what happened.
I know it (obviously) wasn't funny at the time, but I sincerely hope you were able to make the best of it and are able to look back on it now and laugh. That being said, I would have been seriously mad about the hair and make-up and after the fact, called to demand my money back.
I really hope everything starts going better for you---even though it sounds like it won't be.

A bit OT, but what diet have you been following? I ultimately need to lose about 40 pounds and I love hearing about other people's success stories.

Oh my!! That make up is scary lol. She should have loosened your curls for you, it's really not that hard to do. All she had to do was pull them apart with her hands. Sorry you had a bad experience. I would be upset too. Did you have Ana?

Aww Rach, I'm so sorry for you. I was so excited to see your hair & make up done. I have to say that the combo of hair & make up that you chose would have been beautiful together. I hope that you called the company later to tell them how bad your experience was. That is a lot of money to not be happy w/ the outcome!

1) I'm loving your TR! Though I'm sorry your trip didn't go as well as you'd planned, it sure makes for great reading!
2) I cannot believe your hair/makeup debacle! That is just awful. I would've been furious. Having seen so much of the Roots' amazing photography on here, I'm crossing my fingers that the pictures still turned out wonderful.

awwww girl! BIG HUG! seriously I am the SAME exact way as you are--especially in that situation--first off that is SO unprofessional esp. for Disney to have her be late like that 2nd-she needed to call YOU and communicate with you(NOT that that changes anything but it helps a little in WHY IS THIS PERSON NOT HERE!) I am completely Ms. perfect in how I look for things esp. photos.. something like that would take alot for me to hand over a person doing my hair/makeup for photos.. i'm definitley not saying im great at my hair/makeup.. but you know what I mean!! I would have been livid too!! So dont worry you had every right to feel that way... that was not a good experience.. and that was completely 100% wrong for them to be late and screw you up time wise--you couldn't relax, you couldnt take your time.. you had to rush and rush dressing and everything.. wow! no excuses there on their part!

I am not a point where I can laugh at any of the situations on this trip. I spent a lot of money to have these photos taken and the whole night was ruined. I never even thought about asking for some money back.. I had to pre-pay so i never thought it was even possible.
I am glad your reading along.. but it does only get worse from here...

I'll post an update tonight once my family leaves.
It was awful.. it STILL stresses me out to think about it because i haven't seen the photos as of yet.

Hi! Im here! ive read everything you've posted so far but didnt get around to posting until just now! I would have been a disaster if that happened to me (the hair and makeup) I went to beauty school and always do my own hair because I dont trust anyone else to do it. I am interested to find out who was calling. I am almost hoping it was the photography company because I dont want to think that anything bad happened to your grams.
